    ✨Advise from one actor to another!✨One thing to keep in mind is don’t *over* prepare. You know what I mean? Like i know that it sounds kinda stupid but hear me out, if your doing an in person audition like not a self tape, if you perform a line the way you practiced it over and over then if the directors or whoever asks you to perform the lines in a different way and say them differently then you might not feel comfortable or confident doing it because you only practiced those lines one way. So definitely prepare a lot and ofccccc know your lines and stuff like that but just don’t *over* prepare! 👍

    The main thing to remember when acting is reacting, how would you react in that certain situation, like you can be an amazing actor, and not get casted because casting directors want to find someone who fits the role both physically and mentally, and if you are reacting in similar way to how the actual character (the person you are auditioning for) they would probably give you a callback, let me know if that made sense 😅

    • @ykcaity

      aw i saw this too late but i can relate to the problem in an upper school play for the drama students we were given a paragraph spoken by a character in the play to learn and i learnt it and learnt how to perform the lines perfectly together with direct speech but when i got to auditions we were grouped and we each had to perform the paragraph as all of us as one person for example i would say the first line and bob in my group would say the second line and we would do that onward and i was so unprepared i ended up saying my sentence in my group with pure dryness and indirect speech and i had no gestures to go with it and i regret that so much

    • @AestheticJem
      @AestheticJem 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ykcaityyes, next time really analyze the monologue/script and if it’s obvious that the monologue is based in a apartment or any other location, imagine a place similar that you have been too so you have more of a connection to the Monologue.Same goes for the person your talking to, if your saying good bye because your best friend is leaving for New York imagine your best friends really is moving, or someone your close to.Make the audience or casting director want to know who your talking to, make them interested and invested.And hope this helps 🥰

    Here are some other tips on how to get a role
    1. try to act like the role your auditioning for whilst you’re there so they know u mean business
    2. Try to have the same hair style as that character as it shows effort
    3. Practice watching the movie/film/musical etc. multiple times and then perform the parts of your desired character in the mirror 🪞 it rlly helps with confidence
    4. Even though your audition will most likely be one scene it’s good to practice the whole movie so no matter what scene it is you know what to do
    5.Always act like you know what your doing even if your a little unsure (the ppl watching you audition are more likely going to give confident ppl roles as they are easier to work with
    6. Whilst auditioning try to do the same actions and speaking tone of then character you are trying to represent and done change the lines even by the slightest cause they will notice that and think you can’t remember lines from a short scene so u won’t have a chance of a whole movie
    7. Every try to read the audition script so you know the lines off by heart and if you struggle with remembering split the sentence into sections
    8. Thanks for reading this all of these tips have gotten my main roles so I hope you get a good role to ❤❤❤❤

    • @podobunny
      @podobunny ปีที่แล้ว +4

      thats great and all, but useless if you cannot truly drop into the character's life. you have to literally BE them for that moment. its not as easy as just crying tears when supposed to be sad. your facial expressions must be genuine, your body language, you must embrace the moment entirely. bad actors are just acting. however good actors make themself truly feel every emotion the character does. and a great actor also drops out after the scene. staying in a distressed state for too long can affect your real life, and have you grieving for no one. so no, this isnt good. its not bad either, but it makes zero difference to your acting skills. you have to be crying real emotional tears, or you might as well be crying no tears.

    Ok so basically I don’t know if I’m going through the same thing anyone else is but here I go. Basically I’m 14 yrs old I have ALWAYS been obsessed with the world of acting and I want to do it so bad. But I have a few problems. I don’t have the money to be getting agents or any of that. I also don’t feel I’m good at it. A lot of people I know say I am very good at masking the art. I even used to make ads and perform them to my family. And also I jsut really don’t know where to get started. I don’t want to be in small tv shows or anything like that. I want to be in shows on like Netflix or Disney+ or Hulu ect. Also my parents aren’t exactly on board with it ether. My dad thinks the idea is a great opportunity and thinks I have a lot of potential in it. But my mom doesn’t want it I don’t think. But I really really am passionate about it. Can anyone give me any tips?

      It‘a great that you have at least one supporting parent! I‘d say you should at least try it - but remember that every bit of practice makes you not only better at acting but gets you more used to the actual business. So of course you can audition for shows/movies at big streaming services but don’t hold back from smaller/other things as well, it can‘t hurt and will probably raise your chances for the big stuff 😁 And don‘t let yourself get discouraged if you don‘t get what you want right away. Being patient and persistent is very important

I just don't know how to get there. I tried apply through acting websites such as backstage, but I don't have the money to pay for their "membership". And I'm sure most of those websites aren't real anyways just money farms and people's dreams.

      lol that reactions a bit dramatic 😭 remember, if you aren't truly feeling the emotions of the character- without thinking about it, you need to practice. great actors don't imagine their appearance too much, or say lines as if reading. they pour real emotions into it, and drop completely into character. if they cry, it is because they are actually crying, if they laugh, they are truly laughing. (sometimes) all you need to do is be there in the moment. see everything from the character's perspective. keep trying. if you give up you will never know how great you could have been!

    • @kaylasmusic
      @kaylasmusic ปีที่แล้ว

      @@podobunny I don’t think it was dramatic, it’s more than frustrating to keep failing over and over,.. Auditions are just a fucked up concept, nor does it even assess what you can do. It’s just a stupid “exam” to see if you’re “good enough” but it’s no way of assessing skill or ability in any way at all, there’s no way to actually do that it would be too time consuming. I’m shy AF and it just the worst
