    I have the same issue with molding as well as the fascia being too far back from the roof edge. This blocking is going to solve both problems for me, perfect. I was going to return my vinyl gutters today to get those roof straps and aluminum ones. Saved me from drilling holes in my roof and bending the shit out of all my old shingles

    For peace of mind when making small blocks, you can make them from plywood scraps, but you should still pre drill them. For a perfect match of a shape, you can use making tape and whip up a batch of Bondo. Takes a bit longer but you have that block almost forever after.

    Love the videos man. Just a question, do you have a ballpark figure of how much money you have saved doing all this yourself? And how much has the value of your home increased?

    • @TheFixerHomeRepair
      @TheFixerHomeRepair  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! Lets see... I spent about $70 on materials. It took me about 6 hours total. Conservatively I will say labor might cost $15 - 25 for a handyman or even more for a licensed contractor. I will say I saved at least $100 and could go up to $400. That is a guess. Contractors charge all different prices. Of course they may also have got it done quicker and maybe done it a different way. As far as adding value to the house I think the way to measure that is saving thousands in the future by preventing more rot on the new bulkhead, siding and stairs (to be fixed). Hope this kind of answers your question. 😁. Thanks for checking out the video!
