Cool AF, glad you're making content on these years. Not everybody can get a brand new raptor R! Plus, you're not to far away. I support local buddy. Good work
As far as the aluminum oil pans go, be careful where you get your oil serviced. They have a shallow plug that is easy to strip, so they crammed a slightly larger plug in and never told me. it started dripping a little but you get that off the skid plate sometimes so I didn't worry. Took it to Ford for the next service and they had to replace the entire pan. Not cheap.
I went 2017. Avalanche Gray! Color plus a lower price on a truck with only 48k miles put me over the edge on the 2017. Agree the ‘19/‘20 has some awesome upgrades though.
I paid $49k for my 2017 with almost every option except the carbon package, with 48,000 miles on it. The previous owner was fellow military and ordered the truck new. It had all the paperwork and maintenance records. He never took it off road so it is extremely clean. Not sure that is the best deal but I have had it for over 8 months and put almost 20k miles on it and love everything about it. I do have the Cobb TMC tune on it as it did have the rough shifting transmission issue. Cobb access port sorted that right out.
I also bought a '17 in Avalanche 2 weeks ago. It has 46k miles on it. Dealer was asking 47k, talked them down to 42k and had them install the updated cam phasers in the deal.
Great video, I recently bought a 18.. lucked out I guess it has both the aluminum oil pan and the lane keep assist feature maybe it was a late add to 2018.. Great content!
Thank you for making this video. I am in the same boat right now. I have no idea on how to shop for credit unions and lock in a rate. Could you or someone else here share how to do that? I'd really appreciate it. The biggest thing stopping me right now is the crazy APR numbers.
Hell wanted* I’m torn between three trucks 2023 Toyota trd off road 32k miles for 37k 2024 nissan frontier pro 4 x brand new for 39k 2017 ford raptor 100k miles (cam phasers replaced) for 37k Can’t make my mind up
My 22 Tacoma TRD PRO was the worst vehicle that I ever owned. Terrible performance, terrible payload (flattened leaf springs at 300 pounds, terrible seats. There is no fun to drive at all in a Tacoma Get the Raptor! I’m in a 5.7 21 Tundra TRD Pro now, looking to sell for a 2nd gen Raptor as soon as possible.
Do you think purchasing a used Raptor with Gold Certification is a possible safe choice without pre purchase inspection when buying from out of state and having shipped? @f1fiftyjimmy
Ya I would just make sure to see if they would take a video of cold start to make sure there is no cam phaser noise. Check the carfax and if there was any mechanic work done call whoever is listed give them the VIN and they can tell what work was performed. Goodluck man

Thanks bro appreciate it! One day I'll have one of those R's but it's gonna be a little while!
My 2018 has Lane Keep Assist. It does not have stop and go, just adaptive cruise control. It does have an electronic parking brake.
As someone whose shopping for basically your exact truck.... I've been binging all your Raptor videos!
Thanks bro! Good luck on the search!
@@f1fiftyjimmy came back to say I picked up a 2019 802A in black with 48k miles today! Super stoked!
Currently researching/shopping for a Gen 2. Good to hear I don't need to be terribly concerned when I come across Raptors with 100k miles on them
Just get an ESP warranty!
How much can I get that warranty for

2018 also has lane assist.
I have a 2017 with lane keep assist
Thank you for sharing your experience!
Always look forward to a new vid! Also I believe 2017 was the last year for the 6R80 (6 speed transmission).
Thanks bro, appreciate you!

What did you spend for 2017? I have been looking and not sure what good price range is for similar mileage.

Ya I was wrong on the lane assist, it was the stop and go feature that the 19’s got. Thanks bro!
19’s didn’t get larger turbos. 18’s up had a ported shroud compressor with higher flowing wheels. I believe that is what you meant.

I have lane assist in my 18 same button.
Ya I was incorrect on that, 19 was the first to get the stop and go feature.
Why did you take off the Tesla screen ?
What’s ur opinion on oil catch can ?
Whats the difference between crew cab and super crew cab which is the better one to get
Crew cab is the 4 doors, super crew has the backseat but no doors. I'm always pro crew cab!
Did all 2019/2020 models come with the updated cam phasers? Or did it come out after both of those models were in production?
The late 2019's got the updated phasers.
Took the radio with the big display out?
What’s ur selection on phone mount for your raptor?
Sorry the description of the video got erased. My exact mount is linked in the description.
My 18 has the electric e brake
Most people were saying the 2019 was the first year but sounds like some later 18’s got it.
They don't have 450 wheel HP
