    This is fantastic. I know people that sell and promote essential oils and it’s terrifying when I see them encourage people to use undiluted on the skin, pop it in water or on the roof of their mouths… 😬

    Thanks Kenna, My mum trained as an aromatherapist so luckily I have always been quite aware of essential oil misinformation and how they should/shouldn't be used but these videos are sooo important and I wish more people especially who use MLM brands would see it. I knew about adding to a carrier oil or something like a bubble bath/soap for baths to disperse the oil but didn't know about the milk tip so that was super cool to find out !

    Also, for people with pets, please be aware that most essential oils are unsafe for them and can actually poison them. Please please make sure you look up whether the essential oil you want to use is animal safe. And if it is safe, please follow Kenna’s advice to ONLY diffuse for 15 mins or less, because animals are extremely sensitive & it can cause them serious harm & even death.

    Thanks for this video, Kenna! Absolutely brilliant. Oils are fantastic but they are not safe unless the person is trained to use them. In my opinion they shouldn't really be sold undiluted to the general public. Anyway, for children it's absolutely better to use hydrosols! As byproducts of oil distillation, they keep some of the properties but are milder. Still, consult always a trained aromatherapist just like Kenna said, children are smaller and more sensitive than us adults.

    i watched your original essential oil video and found it so useful! Its the first time i learnt that you can't drink essential oil in water and it made total sense! Not that i every drink it but i knew of someone who does it in the past... recently i started using certain essential oil to try keep roaches away, i basically just pour a couple of drops on cotton pad and have them around my room at night. Is that fine, do you have any tips? I have thought about diffusing it but was concerned about inhaling too much, unsure if its safe. Now i know how to safely diffuse!
    and YES, definitely would love more tips on how to use essential oil safely. Thanks!!

    Would you recommend avoiding rollerballs? I use a peppermint oil rollerball from Saje on my temples when I get a headache. I think there's a mix of some essential oils in it: lavender, eucalyptus, peppermint, rosemary.

    This is so interesting. I currently love Young Living, they have drink and food items infused with essential oils. Are you saying these items are not safe to consume ?
    Also, they have a kids range of EO products and oils designed to apply topically
    In regards to neat application,they claim to have oils safe for neat application on adults
    It blows my mind that a company that raves about FDA approvals, how they're the most safe and purest of all EO can do as such. And then we have people like you who say completely different to their claims

    • @elijahstars
      @elijahstars 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      please watch iilluminaughtii video on Young Living (its 2 parts each around 30minutes) because the claims they make are pretty dangerous. And if a biochemist like Kenna says not to use EO on kids or swallow those then please listen to her, she is an expert and knows how dangerous it can be. MLMs like Young Living are far from being experts.

    • @rhiannonh5202
      @rhiannonh5202 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      YES please please don't ingest them or use any of their products undiluted even if it says you can (Including things like their tablets and drink etc) and like someone else said definitely look into the brand and the owners to see if you still want to give your money to them

    • @midtwilightblue
      @midtwilightblue 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No EO is FDA approved, which is good and bad. Good thing, it leads to less poisoning due to EO but bad because essential oils would be better at healing than most vitamins/supplements/medications that lead to no improvement or terrible side effects. Basically, there’s no profit in healthy people!

    • @rhiannonh5202
      @rhiannonh5202 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@midtwilightblue Suprised to hear that as I'm from Australia and our version of the FDA is called the Theraputic Goods Administration (TGA) and they have some brands essential oils as approved as supplemental medicine. Odd how different countries can be so different it approvals etc.

    So should you mix essential oils with a carrier oil before putting it into a diffuser or just mix it with water in the diffuser?

    • @rhiannonh5202
      @rhiannonh5202 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      water only, diffusers use a different process to disperse the oils into the mist that comes out of them so it's different to just letting oil sit separated to the water (think of it like when you mix a vinegarette up and shake it how the oil and other liquids temporarily are kind of combined as you are shaking but then once you stop shaking and let it rest the oil separates from the other liquids again - the diffuser is constantly disrupting the surface so the essential oil doesn't have time to rest and settle as a separate layer) hope that helps :)
