Love it! Never thought to use a wood stain for a faux technique on a wall, but I love the outcome! Yours looks great, and I love how easy and fast it was. I bet applying this to a colored wall would make it look like an "aged" color. Now I just need to find a wall in my house to try this on... Thanks for sharing!

To clarify for viewers who like the effect and don't understand why there's several comments saying this isn't correct, wood-stain is oil based and a majority of wall-paint will be latex-based. Latex-based paints will have difficulty sticking to a wood-stained surface without an oil-based primer coat. If anyone else but yourself tries to paint over this wall, having no knowledge of the stain material, (such as a future home-owner or professional), it will likely end up blotchy unless you specifically correct for the stain; losing time and money for those involved.

They do make water based wood stains. I don't know what she's using but I double checked before answering.

Thanks for the video, I love the look and texture . What ever works and achieves what we want and enjoy is what counts, not a set way of doing the job... that`s art.

I wish I were this creative. I have been looking at glazing videos, they all seem to flat and not characteristic enough. This is so beautiful. I wonder if there are downsides to staining a wall like this?

Here’s to the mean people that dis on others wow...... Theoretically, almost any stain could be used as a glaze. However, most glaze formulations are thicker than stain to allow more control and manipulation of the color and tend to have more intense coloration

I like it, I don't know what glazing is but I know it's th shiny thing on the wall. Is this another type of glazing?

Glazing is done using glaze. This video isn't representative of what professionals do.

You're not GLAZING your wall, you're applying WOOD STAIN. Change the title of the video. That is ABSURD to use WOOD stain. The odor alone (which is far down the list) is enough for a/one to figure out this is red flag. And couple the fact, that your video was posted up OVER 7 YEARS ago, and it's the ONLY ONE you did should tell folks you're short on design know how.

Dear Rude Commenter with Egg on Your Face: I'm afraid you are incorrect. I will post the definition of glazing here, so that you can learn more about it. I think what you *meant* to say is that you have a preference for a different glaze medium. This would have given you a chance to explain why you have your own preference. DEFINITION: "A glaze is a thin transparent or semi-transparent layer on a painting which modifies the appearance of the underlying paint layer. Glazes can change the chroma, value, hue and texture of a surface. Glazes consist of a great amount of binding medium in relation to a very small amount of pigment. Drying time will depend on the amount and type of paint medium used in the glaze. The medium, base, or vehicle is the mixture to which the dry pigment is added. Different media can increase or decrease the rate at which oil paints dry."

*First 2 minutes and 20 seconds is classic mouth blabbering and useless cringe worthy talk that is basic common sense and NO ONE wants to hear.*
*Not sure why every youtuber has to blabber so much, before reaching to the point that relates to the video title?*
