I've watched a TON of painting videos the last few days, and yours are my favorites. I'm excited about this color meshing technique, and after seeing it in just the right amount of detail here, I feel ready to start. So many videos whip through techniques in seconds, making them look easier than they are. This one is just right!
I went pretty extreme with my colors and am VERY happy with the results! I'd link you but TH-cam won't let me. But I mixed very deep tones of blue, green, taupe, crimson, violet and brown and the outcome is stunning.
I did this with an eggshell finish using 4 paints in a 14 x 17 room. I used burgundy, a burnt brown color, peach and a purplish mauve color. The entire project turned out darker than I had hoped, so I went back after the walls had dried and brushed some of the peach just on the woolie and went over the walls lightly with just this color and that made it look great! I will warn viewers though, this is a tiring process. My entire arm was so sore (and I even tried switching arms) that I had hard time sleeping the night I did this project.
Awesome product. Bought it and used it today following the video instructions. The results are unbelievable!!! It looks like a professional did my wall!!!
I do not like painting... But, this one looks fun! My fav of all of this series I've seen so far. Great job! Love yer informative and informative videos! Thank u!
Fabulous! I just got a fixer upper home... I also hate bare white walls.. so I am going to try this in my art room and my bedroom.... I don't think I can mess this one up!!! (I am an artist, but I tell u, I am NOT good at painting a house! LOL) Thank u for ur vids :) Love them... :)
I agree with BigAmRing........You make it so easy to understand how to do it...I am going to try this technique soon....Will this work with an Italian red and a brown? Or is that too much of a difference in color ?...Thank you for your videos...
You said 'Satin' finish, not sure if you're aware of this but in some stores, 'Satin is below eggshell and in other stores 'Satin is just below semi gloss, (two different sheens) so I'm assuming the lower the shine the better.

Hi 6merka, We were going to get rid of an old sink in the bathroom, but I sanded it (the base of it was all wood) and used this technique using 3 different colors of blue with a metallic silver (sheer) finish over it. It's beautiful. So I would say yes, since it worked for me. I used one of Martha's metallic paints from Home De. / I have a channel here on youtube "patioelf" where I do decoupage videos but I will be doing this technique soon on paper to decoupage over a floor. I will show a picture of the sink since it's in that same bathroom. It is a really nice technique. Patti
I just saw your post. I am getting ready to start this process today with the same color combination. Am wondering how yours turned out...what color of paint/glaze you used. Any communication appreciated!
I bet that is beautiful....Wish I could see a pic...Is there a way for me to see it??.....Well, I am gonna go for it....I'm going with an Italian red and a brown together....Just moved into a new house and have all bare walls......all white....I truly do not like white walls....My new furniture is a gorgeous tan/sable brown with pillows that have red/brown/tan/olive in them....I guess if I don't like it, I can always paint over it.....You have a lovely evening....:D

I have a bunch of quart size oops paint, various shades of blue and grey. I just learned (8) quarts are eggshell with 3 quarts are flat. I want it to look like the night sky. Can I use both flat and eggshell?

You can only get The Woolie from amazon.
I'd like to be able to go to a box store and buy it and get straight to working on my project.
Very well explained! Thank you!

Interested in doing this on my ceiling. How would the technique change? If at all?
Can I use some metallic paint with it? Lets say one of the 3 colors would be metallic.
Thanks

+patioelf Hi. I had the same idea. Did you mix the metallic paint with a glaze or extender? Thanks! Would love to see a picture of it.
Glaze...I do plan on redoing the top of it so in the future I'll be posting it on my Facebook page, Upcycle with Decoupage. :)
Patti

Amazing Lady ........
If I use 3 colors for a feature wall that is about 8x12, how much paint would I need for the Color Meshing technique?
Thanks!
My wall is semi gloss what type of paint should I use?
Very nice 👍
i have brushed plaster walls will this work on that
I just saw your post. I am getting ready to start this process today with the same color combination. Am wondering how yours turned out...what color of paint/glaze you used. Any communication appreciated!
The walls in my house have an orange peel texture, would this technique work for on textured walls?
Awesome Job :)

Does this technique work on a wall with a pretty aggressive texture? or any texture at all?
Are these latex paints flat or semi-gloss?
You didnt use any glaze for this?
Nope, just latex paint.
I like that

Those are so close in sheen, I'd think it would work.
what if is a darker color like blue or a beach pic will it still work
Yes! :D
The hypest
Pink and red? I think that might look a little rough^^
WHEN'S MAHVEL?
Why do you put the paint on the woolie before your start?
Will this technique work with skip trowel walls ?
