      Hey! I have been thinking of doing a green/blue wall too, do you have any pictures or IG or Pinterest maybe to show how it turned out? Ofc it’s completely ok if you don’t, I just thought I’d take my chance and ask because I am painting all four walls of my bedroom and it would be nice to see how it looks before I commit 😅

      @@samodell5157pleaseeee find a way to send through pictures! I can’t find any examples with using normal paint to get a dark colored limewash-style finish. I’d try limewash itself if I wasn’t concerned with the upkeep with dogs, or the difficulty of painting over it when I inevitably want to change in a few years!

    • @JustMe-jc2ft
      @JustMe-jc2ft 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don't know what kind she used, but primer is formulated to help the paint bond to our walls. I don't know why the paint cannot be formulated to bond to the walls, but that is the way the industry/technology has developed. Each paint type has a primer that it works best with. If you simply can't get primer, the paint will go on the wall...oh but another purpose of primer is to cover bold colors that might be on your wall already. So if you want to go from a bold color to a white or neutral, you're going to have a really hard time without a primer. Even if you want to go to a new bold color, the old color is going to impact the results without covering it with a primer. White paint may work but it's going to layer on top and not bond in so chipping will be more likely. If you don't have kids, and don't move your furniture much, it will work for a while. Work with what you've got if that's what you've got to work with 😉

      I think it would work even better, giving it that "cement" look 🥰

    Has anyone considered adding fine sand to the paint, to give it more texture?

    Why not just use limewash paint? Easier & better.

    • @HomeByMon
      @HomeByMon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a bit expensive, plus I live in a small country in Europe, so I couldn't find limewash anywhere 😞 Also, acrylic is so much more durable

    This project is incredibly messy. The paint was running all down the way leaving streaks and getting everywhere. My two paint colors mixed into just one color and now it just looks like a really bad paint job. 10/10 do not recommend doing this. Spend the money and get the real lime wash paint or just paint regular
