- With the U.S. Presidential election capturing the world's attention this week, the most important eleven men on earth, the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses, want us to know what to look for in 'leadership' using their Bible, their publications... and a history that shouldn't be ignored.
This episode is another one that I’ll be relistening to. Undeniable logic used Stacey. That point you used about a worldwide organization only focusing on elections in the US was gold. Loved it man!!

"My yoke is light" saidJesus. Being a JW truly did not feel like a "light yoke."..no it was enormously stressful! The 3 weekly meetings. The bible school talks that took 3 days to prepare! The field service do or die! Always defending my faith at work or at my son's school.. The continuous under current "judgement" from so called brothers and sisters. It was a though school being a JW.
Exactly... AND we werwe made to feel deficient or defective if we coulnt pioneer or something... I killed myslef as an MS and pioneer despite having only a part time job
SO STRESSFUL.....so far from 'refreshing!'

I'm sure there's a movie producer or hedge fund manager out there somewhere that will be magically "anointed" at any moment so he can qualify to be on the Governing Body.

I thought it was especially interesting to note that Watchtower points out in the Bible that mankind is not meant to govern itself, but at the same time they have a “Governing Body”. Call me crazy, but I can’t help but hear the root word “GOVERN” screaming in my face!

Great definition on Gaslighting! I quit 2 JW Apostate sights because they often give excuses to those who continue to gaslight people, by saying things like, "they are at a different level of leaving or progress. This to excuse the one gaslighting others! And this from those who claim they are therapist for XJWs! So to be a therapist is to excuse Gaslighting as progressional, so the "newer" your removal or walking away, gaslighting is allowed at obviously different levels! 🤔 So it is up to each of us to identify how Gaslighting is used, to deny it in our lives, or reject those who except certain levels of Gaslighting in their lives. I'm about 3 years out, and I will not allow even a little Gaslighting in my life. It's progressive once it starts, it's only going to worsen over time. So I abstain from those so called JW Therapist sights! 😮

So the GB says "we cannot say that we trust in Jehovah if we don't trust in his earthly representatives" (the GB), yet no one knows how they're appointed or how they know that they're anointed. You're not allowed to ask! They just know! But hey, just trust in them, they know what they're doing! It's pure insanity! It also seems to me now that Jesus has an affinity for anointed kings who excel in the real estate realm. These are things that keep me up at night. Another thing, when did Jesus swap gold crowns for gold rolexes and pinky rings? So many questions, so few answers 😢.

My mother was a new bride and then a widow. Magically (sarcasm) two anointed brothers appeared at her door and soon they told her they thought she was anointed. They gave her the ritual.
Sat at her table, lit a candal. Prayed. The door opened. A spirit walked in. Slowly walked. Went towards my mother then rejected her and turned and walked away. That creeped me out. This happened in Seattle Washington US

JWs don't have a "ritual" for determining if a person is anointed. Never have. It's a private matter based solely on the claim of the anointed person themself. Not sure what you're talking about.
In fact, WT has completely marginalized so-called "anointed" JWs and relegated them to the category of "mentally and emotionally unbalanced".

The Bible is the problem. All well and good that the gospels are warm and fuzzy, the rest of the NT is brutal. Jesus is coming back to kill everyone, and he practiced on Annanias and Saphira. They committed a very minor sin, no counsel or mercy from Jesus though. Paul is a big problem, it's actually Paulianity, not Christianity.

It's especially troublesome considering that Geoffrey Jackson, while testifying under oath at the Australian Royal Commission, said that, if the Governing Body teaches something that is wrong, ALL of Jehovah's Witnesses globally will immediately correct them.
This is the same Governing Body that tells JWs to obey even when it is illogical to do so, and to NEVER question what the "faithful slave" teaches.
