Hey Phil I found your channel days ago with video about reverse engineering a tactic, in that video you said it's part of a series so I've found it! It's called "FM24 Tips and Tricks" but videos are in opposite order (from newest to last, without knowing it I watched two videos of you rating and tasting viewers tactics, hoping you explain it there but I didn't even know the basics. Came to find out it all was on the bottom of the playlist. Is it supposed to be front to back instead to back and front? If yes then I'm sorry, don't change your ways for one guy, unless it happens to line up with your ways haha. I just bought FM24 and I'm trying everything to learn. Question: Would you recommend for first player like me to take a team from let's say championship bottom of the table team and first season make safely out of even of play-offs relegation to then get top 6-8, season later to get to Premier League etc. Or just should I take a team I love (Real Madrid) and get comfortable with all the mechanics without having to worry about getting kicked out for being too close to relegation and unable to sign anyone?
Oh and numbering episodes would go a long way, both in a thumbnail with big bold letters that are VERY visible without being big and in the start of the title. That way we know what series it is, what episode, and if I was there already and gave it a like to support you!
@@DrakesGhostWriter Thanks for your kind words and taking the time to feedback. I keep changing the order of the playlists but they keep changing back...so will redo that one again. As for your first time....I would always advise starting with a good team...after all the better the players you have the better your chances. When you are new it will be frustrating but over time it will get easier. Try to learn one thing at a time...start with tactics and then add to that bit by bit. Hi Phil, fully understand your decisions. The FM video market seems to be saturated with videos nonstop and I’ve noticed other content creators are even doing exactly the same types of videos within days of each other. Unfortunately there are not enough hours in the day to catch up with everyone’s videos but we’ll be here to kick some balls with you 👍🏻👍🏻
Hi Phil, interesting statement. I saw you live only occasionally because i work 60 hours a week. but i have a topic-suggestion that might catch some attention. ►Throw ins◄ are very influential in fm24, but in fact it seems like no one are looking into it. Optimizing throw ins both attacking and defensive, might take some effort to investigate, but then you probably have info enough for 2 videos.
@fm-oldmanphil I have a strong sense that defenses are poorly geared to defend throw-ins, and that short throw-ins exploit this fact better than throwing long(forward). But that's just my assumption. Another observation is that during long throw-ins, the aerial threats return to defense too quickly, faster than for example during corner kicks, and sometimes even before the ball has reached them. And when I finally score from long throw-ins, it seems more random than planned. In opposition to when I score from short throw ins, As the more direct option Long throws should be the most predicable, but it seems to not be the case imo. Some of the possible questions: Without optimising the through ins themself could be: 1) Possible ways to increase the number of attacking throw in opportunities, (possible parametres: how wide, how direct, how quick, use of counter press, use of high press, frequency of trigger press, marking their fb, playing with wb-tactic or a fb-winger tactic,) 2) and visa versa to decrease defensive one. pretty much the same parametres, but also how pressing trap, and cross engagement settings affects it. Hope this inspire you. No matter if you do it or not. To master throw ins will indeed save some points in every season. -David

Hello Mr Phil, Hope You're good now, and Your account will grow soon! Wondering how do You use covering? Do you make Your defenders to protect exact players, positions, or rather leaving it blank? I also have a problem with my scouts, playing Arsenal currently and they're giving me some 3 rate shit :D Don't know what I do wrong here, beacause in FM23 i didn't have such a problem.
thank you so much for your kind words my friend....I am covering players by closing down less in the main...I use the cover role with a high line. If someone is covering make sure he is set to close down less. That means he will look to drop off rather than push forward towards a specific player. There are many problems in FM 24 which I hope will not be there for FM 25...fingers crossed
