Barbarian - Making of( Part 01)

  • This is second video of the series "Making of" from my ongoing personal project. Fan art and personal take of a frenzy barbarian from Diablo 2. I go trough my process of creation when it comes to character work.
    I usually approach the "assets" as a separate mini project. I do my research and dive into how these things are really made. What is the purpose of it and how it will actually serve it's purpose.
    Here I break down my process into multiple steps and quickly explain each one. The sculpting part is the most fun one, so I've included some of it too. You can also check the playlist "Timelapses" where I'll be uploading random, but also more lengthy videos of the actual process. I hope you like it.

    Hey, starting at 0.58 how did you tear the shoe apart? Did you you use the multi cut tool in Maya to cut the shape manually?

      You can either do that or delete faces directly in zbrush and then cap and sculpt. :)

    when you do Quad Draw you go to Maya and then back in Zbrush?

      Yes. Correct. You can also use 3dcoat, topogun or even stay in ZBrush. But this is how I do it

      @@ranmanolov6832 its very cool, i work in maya too :) when you add stiches you add them manually or use some trick with curves?

      @@user-ug4ec5fj5i I select an edge and the my insert brush follows that edge automatically. I'll show that in the upcoming videos
