Thanks MJ.. I needed to hear this. After years of condescending talk and disrespect I had to set a boundary with a family member just recently... I actually did it respectfully and in return she just stopped speaking to me altogether... It is what it is...🤷🏿

This was really helpful for me. I think that sometimes people and relationships that have been "rotten to the core" have not wanted me to show up with healthy boundaries because they have not wanted me to be empowered. I am black, femme, and trans-masculine. So I am working through my own fears about claiming my personal power and the guilt and false beliefs I have about being empowered as a black gender variant being. So thank you for sharing.

I've never heard it put that way - entitled to our peace, I like that. I constantly get taken advantage of at work. Videos like this are so helpful to keep in the back of my mind at work when it's happening in real time. At some point you have to stop putting everyone else first and yourself last, getting walked all over.
That actually happened to me and then I threatened to call labour laws and report them and suddenly my cheque appeared, they thought I was sweet and shy and they could walk on me.
People suddenly wake up when they think they’re going to jail for abusing their powers.
MJ this came ROT.. I want to stop seeing my personal trainer and I was more concerned about her sensitivity…I missed session Friday in celebration of my birthday. She called asking if I fired her; same scenario a month ago when I paid but cancelled within 24 hour. Clearly I’m still working on people pleasing 😅
This is 100% correct MJ. I just dumped someone because he was harassing me for favors he said he needed from me. Certain favors you doing even do it with husband or wife, getting in into your personal accounts, oh no baby good bye.
I was like that when I was younger, now at the age of 44 years I please myself more and stop being a door mat to other individuals.
In the long run being a people please doesn’t benefit anyone in the long run, and you’ll end up angry and bitter and possibly emotional damaged. No one needs that, live your life balanced as much as possible, if you’re not good at it then practice living a balanced life style.
I like when you said to continue in a healthy relationship respecting each other boundaries. The closest people in my life can find it difficult to keep a relationship because I have mentioned it to them. thanks for mentioning it MJ. You always on point with your content . I am still working on this, and truly needed to hear this. So many of us are raised to the motto of "do unto others..." I'm sure you know the rest. But in my older age, I've realized that doesn't always apply or leave room for you to set and enforce boundaries. It can sometimes set you up to be used. Thank you for your insight and words of encouragement for those going through this.
Protecting my peace by keeping my legs closed, living in solitude and remaining single. Do whatever you want, however you want, with whomever you want to for as long as you like to do it as long as it's legal, you just won't be doing any of that crap with ME!

Exactly if you set a boundaries and then others vomit on it, this on them, it’s literally over.
Life’s about lessons and consequences, the quicker you understand what you will put up with and what you will not the better your life will become.
Not everything in life is for you and to make you happy.
The things that bring stress into your life stay away from.
Make sure you’re clear in the beginning when you’re communicating with individuals about the things you need and the things you’re willing to give to others.
Happiness, love, respect, loyalty, understanding, etc.. is a circle of hard work, done every day so that we can all be happy, together or apart.

Thank you so much for this informative video. I do set boundaries with people. Sometimes I feel that I have to keep setting the same boundaries over and over. I do not do well with manipulators who employ different strategies for trying to extract the behavior they want from me. Sometimes, I just have to let them go because what they want is inappropriate and is all they really want from me. Thanks again for this video. I identify with you so well.
