Bonnie Raitt had more than two hits. She's been recording since the mid-'60s - when she was 18 yrs old. That's when she actually recorded "Love Me Like A Man." She's 75, now - and is STILL rocking that slide guitar . . . "I Can't Make You Love Me" - was written by Mike Reid (of the Cincinatti Bengals when he was younger) - a killer keyboardist and singer, himself. And Bonnie just won the "Song of the Year" Grammy THIS year - for writing a song called "Just Like That" - about a mother who hears her son's heartbeat, again, in the chest of a young man who was an organ donor recipient. An unbelievable song.
Seen her 3 times in concert. First time when I was 18 (1972) at the Philharmonic in New York. Had to fight back the tears when she sang Love Has No Pride.
Bonnie has been around since the early 70's. She has her roots in the blues and became more popular in the 90's . She also is one of the best slide guitar players around.
The best slide guitar player on the planet. Her father was Broadway star John Raitt. She dropped out of Wellesley (Harvard Women's College) into the blues scene.
@Ted Schmidt How about that? The first time I saw her was also outdoors somewhere in the Berkshires in the late ‘70s. I wonder if it was the same concert. I remember she started with Aretha’s “Baby, I Love You.”
Bobbie Raitt and Annie Lennox are my 2 favorite female artists. She is an excellent slide guitarist and has a rabbit hole worth pursuing. Here is a link to a Bob Dylan song done live that is worth a look: th-cam.com/video/vdLEIElOxTY/w-d-xo.html
This version is okay, but there’s a much better live version, later in her years. Her voice matured, and the personality she injected is simply amazing!

Bonnie…the Voice, the Slide Guitar, Badass!
Bonnie is a national treasure, can play slide guitar and great blues/ rock singer. One of the all time best
Her father was John Raitt, an actor and singer who starred in Broadway musicals like Oklahoma and Carousel during the 50's and 60's
SHE'S GREAT, real bluesy feel to her voice and she blays great slide guitar.
Nick of Time is another must hear!

There are many great songs by Bonnie Raitt. Do a search on youtube.
Unlike some artists. Bonnie got better with age. Though I like this version. There is a live version from the early 2000s that is miles better.
