Fluttershy and pinkie pie only sound so different bc pinkie is always energetic and fluttershy is always so soft spoken. A cutie mark is a talent but generally people tend to have jobs that align with their cutie marks because it just makes it easier. Rarity is a great example of not doing that. Her cutie mark has nothing to do with fashion but everything to do with gems. That why, in one episode she's out looking for gems to add to her dresses, she uses a spell to help track them. But because Rarity's passion is fashion and dressmaking she does that while including gems into the final design

5:25 - from season 3 to 7, basically every season ends like it could be the series finale, because the creators of the show didn't know for certain whether the show would be renewed for another season. They knew for certain that season 9 would be the last one, so they went all-in with its finale.
Which is also just a good practice in general, even if you know the show is going to continue. It not only gives people convenient starting/stopping points, but it also helps the show's macro-pacing by dividing up narrative themes and arcs. It's... something that modern media is kinda forgetting about.

The 'seahorses' are Hippocampi! Hippocampus are half horse, half fish, kinda like a merhorse, and are what pull Poseidon's chariot. You saw him turn into a hippocampus in the beginning that animatic for the song Ruthlessness in Epic: The Musical. Then he turned into a Nyxie while running on the water. But he was a gigantic hippocampus when curling around the boat under the water before popping up and rocking Odysseus' 💩.

Starlight glimmer(the cult leader)'s character growth is unironically the best i have ever seen in any form of media. By the end of the show, she has gradually grown so much and replaces Twilight as princepal of a school that teaches friendship to people to spread unity and harmony across the world. I genuinely use lessons learned from watching Starlight in my real life, and i know other people who do too.

Yeah, "What My Cutie Mark Is Telling Me" is from the last episode of season 3 "Magical Mystery Cure". It is one of my favorite MLP FIM songs. You should watch the episode! (whether on your own time or making a video of it) I think that it is a great episode! Fun fact about the Friends are Always There for You song (the one with Starlight after she's been redeemed), when this came out, it was at the end of the season, and everyone was speculating that Starlight actually forcefully hypnotized everyone, since she'd literally changed the worlds multitudinous times at that point, so she showed she was powerful enough. There were a bunch of people saying they'd quit if they made it like the whole season was a dream sequence and stepped back on everything

The only unfortunate thing is that the swaps don't really fit, since writer Paul Larson actually admitted he forgot Rainbow's talent wasn't the weather but speed and agility.
"One Small Thing" wasn't meant to be about breaking down big tasks, but more about saying you shouldn't put off time with others because you don't have time to do something "big and meaningful" with them. Just doing little things matter too and they add up into big things over time. It was one of the songs I've looked forward to you seeing. Glad it came around. :D

The songs from the movie were also recorded with a real orchestra (unlike the songs in the show, which are mostly MIDI). The composer, Daniel Ingram, is currently working on a game called Billie Bust Up, and they have a crowdfunding campaign to record the game's songs with the same studio. They've already reached most of their stretch goals.

About the Cutie Mark changing thing, Cutie Marks have always been a weird thing to explain, but the show itself manages to at least give some explanations on it: The Cutie Mark not only represent their "jobs", it represents who they are and their purpose. Rarity for example didn't get her cuite mark by making costumes, she gained her cutie mark after making beautiful works of art with beautiful jewels and gave them to her class for them to make their show, her act of doing art and being generous with the stuff she does is what made her get her cutie mark, Pinkie Pie could've gotten her cutie mark by just planning the party, but it was after she saw the happiness from her family that she realized that her purpose is to bring happiness to everyone. This is why the confusion happens, Pinkie's essence is bringing happines to everyone and that's what her cutie mark represents, now that that off and give it to Fluttershy, a shy pony who barely talks to strangers, by having Pinkie's essence she will try to make everyone happy, but her shy personality makes it impossible. They got someone's else essence and now have to learn what to do on their own. Hope that helped a little, because Cutie Marks sure is a topic a bit hard to understand
Yo I just finished watching the entirety of mlp and can I just say the last episode titled, “The Last Problem”, was such a great episode and a perfect send off to the show and it’s characters. So every time I watch a scene and/or scenes from the show, it really makes me sad how there aren’t anymore episodes of the show. The songs, along with the show, are also fantastic and memorable. In my opinion, Mlp is an S Tier show and I highly recommend giving it a watch. There is more to this show than what meets the eye.

That was already my favorite song from season 1 of Hazbin Hotel and honestly the remix has just made me love the song even more! You raised the idea of a pony song being not upbeat, which made me try to think of the saddest mlp song. Off the top of my head, contenders would be... well, tbh pretty much any song from the low point of a musical episode, which means I Have To Find A Way (which is basically from immediately after What My Cutie Mark Is Telling Me), Pinkie's Lament, Luna's Future, or The Pony I Want To Be. Thinking about it further, other options include I'll Fly (probably only sad in context), and Out On My Own (didn't really do much for me, but it's definitely intended to be sad). Joke runner up: Untitled Sad Yak Song ("Yona sad, Yona sing sad song, sad Yona"). Now that I google it, apparently there are actual remixes of that, which is great. Cutie marks are a manifestation of a pony’s special talent, something they do uniquely better than others. Rarity’s special talent isn’t actually dress making, it’s finding/collecting gems, there are multiple ponies in the show that do something that doesn’t directly align with their cutie mark

To answer your question a cutie mark is when a pony finds their calling or life “destiny” and that calling is found once the pony finds something their heart finds is their passion and or something their incredibly good at and thats connected with their “destiny” because while yes cutie marks are basically just saying what their passion is ponies often associate it with fate because your passion eventually becomes your lifes calling and or what you do in life like how pinkie pies cutie mark is balloons: it doesnt downright means shes a party pony but rather represents her passion for making other smile her need to make people happy thats her passion thats her life goal and she could still hypothetically do anything she wants but deep down that is her life calling so 9/10 her job will always be related to making people happy but it doesnt specifically say what kind of job she has to work or what kind of path shes gitta take her cutiemark is basically just a slightly taunting reminder that her special talent and “purpose” is making ponies happy so often when people get their cutie mark they dont question it much like if they dont downright have a passion for it they just go “ oh well its not my forte but apparently its what the “gods” have said is my lifes purpose “ and listen to it so if it doesnt work out or they cant do it right they start to get really concerned and start questioning their identities because if their cutiemark is wrong, or they cant accomplish their life goal the thing thats supposed to tell them their destiny what are they? Which is why the ponies are so confused and frustrated in the song! because their cutiemark says this is what they should be good at that this is their calling and passion yet they suck at it so they dont understand it and are starting to think maybe its not for them but are in denial because its their cutiemark the cutiemark is always right in their world ( this rant makes 0 sense ) there are several episodes talking about the cutie marks this song being a good one but personally i like episode S7 episode 21 because of how its really digs into the question of “ well what if a pony doesnt want to do their special talent forever? “ or “ what if a pony looses their love for their special something? Do they just have to continue on this road of a destiny they no longer want? “ its a great episode that can explain this way better than i can lmao
One of my favorite tidbits is that in that first song, the line _seems_ to be _"Friends can change the world, you see,"_ ("as you can see, friends can change the world") which is the sort of naive/optimistic statement you'd expect from a kids' show, but the way the actresses sing it, there's no pause for the comma; the line in actuality is, _"friends can change the world you see,"_ ("the way you see the world can change based on the people around you") Which is a more nuanced and realistic statement you wouldn't expect from a kids' show.
Rainbow road trip IS a movie that's why the animation is a little different, also from what I remember twilight is wearing a clothing (or whatever you called it) on her wing and that clothing, makes her wings colorful :)

A cutie mark is a talent but generally people tend to have jobs that align with their cutie marks because it just makes it easier. Rarity is a great example of not doing that. Her cutie mark has nothing to do with fashion but everything to do with gems. That why, in one episode she's out looking for gems to add to her dresses, she uses a spell to help track them. But because Rarity's passion is fashion and dressmaking she does that while including gems into the final design

5:25 - from season 3 to 7, basically every season ends like it could be the series finale, because the creators of the show didn't know for certain whether the show would be renewed for another season. They knew for certain that season 9 would be the last one, so they went all-in with its finale.
Which is also just a good practice in general, even if you know the show is going to continue. It not only gives people convenient starting/stopping points, but it also helps the show's macro-pacing by dividing up narrative themes and arcs.
It's... something that modern media is kinda forgetting about.

The 'seahorses' are Hippocampi! Hippocampus are half horse, half fish, kinda like a merhorse, and are what pull Poseidon's chariot. You saw him turn into a hippocampus in the beginning that animatic for the song Ruthlessness in Epic: The Musical. Then he turned into a Nyxie while running on the water. But he was a gigantic hippocampus when curling around the boat under the water before popping up and rocking Odysseus' 💩.
Cutie marks are never that well explained in the show, but here goes:
Cutie marks basically reflect _who you are_ as a person, including in a metaphysical/destiny sense. They awaken when you truly figure out what makes you _you,_ which _usually_ happens when you're doing something fulfilling that you're good at, but not always (Cheerilee for example got hers in her sleep).
This leads to interesting consequences in the rare cases that magic is powerful enough to mess with them, which happens on only four occasions:

"Why does this feel like a finale?"
It was often not quite certain whether the show would be renewed, so several seasons have season finales that were _also_ designed to work as series finales.
This is one of them.
Starlight glimmer(the cult leader)'s character growth is unironically the best i have ever seen in any form of media. By the end of the show, she has gradually grown so much and replaces Twilight as princepal of a school that teaches friendship to people to spread unity and harmony across the world. I genuinely use lessons learned from watching Starlight in my real life, and i know other people who do too.
The season 5 finale, which was the first song abt starlight redeeming herself, I heard it was originally gonna be the finale of the show, but they decided to continue it for like 4 more seasons.
Twilight becomes a Princess at the end of Magical Mystery Cure was supposed to be the finale, but due the show's booming popularity at that time, the series continued with Twi's Princess arc.

Yeah, "What My Cutie Mark Is Telling Me" is from the last episode of season 3 "Magical Mystery Cure". It is one of my favorite MLP FIM songs. You should watch the episode! (whether on your own time or making a video of it) I think that it is a great episode! (I just wish that they split the episode into two parts so they could give more time for the story)

Fun fact about the Friends are Always There for You song (the one with Starlight after she's been redeemed), when this came out, it was at the end of the season, and everyone was speculating that Starlight actually forcefully hypnotized everyone, since she'd literally changed the worlds multitudinous times at that point, so she showed she was powerful enough. There were a bunch of people saying they'd quit if they made it like the whole season was a dream sequence and stepped back on everything

The only unfortunate thing is that the swaps don't really fit, since writer Paul Larson actually admitted he forgot Rainbow's talent wasn't the weather but speed and agility.
"One Small Thing" wasn't meant to be about breaking down big tasks, but more about saying you shouldn't put off time with others because you don't have time to do something "big and meaningful" with them. Just doing little things matter too and they add up into big things over time.

The songs from the movie were also recorded with a real orchestra (unlike the songs in the show, which are mostly MIDI). The composer, Daniel Ingram, is currently working on a game called Billie Bust Up, and they have a crowdfunding campaign to record the game's songs with the same studio. They've already reached most of their stretch goals.

About the Cutie Mark changing thing, Cutie Marks have always been a weird thing to explain, but the show itself manages to at least give some explanations on it:
The Cutie Mark not only represent their "jobs", it represents who they are and their purpose. Rarity for example didn't get her cuite mark by making costumes, she gained her cutie mark after making beautiful works of art with beautiful jewels and gave them to her class for them to make their show, her act of doing art and being generous with the stuff she does is what made her get her cutie mark, Pinkie Pie could've gotten her cutie mark by just planning the party, but it was after she saw the happiness from her family that she realized that her purpose is to bring happiness to everyone.
This is why the confusion happens, Pinkie's essence is bringing happines to everyone and that's what her cutie mark represents, now that that off and give it to Fluttershy, a shy pony who barely talks to strangers, by having Pinkie's essence she will try to make everyone happy, but her shy personality makes it impossible. They got someone's else essence and now have to learn what to do on their own.

I’ve been rewatching MLP stuff lately, and not only the episodes stick with me but the songs stick really well too.
Yo I just finished watching the entirety of mlp and can I just say the last episode titled, “The Last Problem”, was such a great episode and a perfect send off to the show and it’s characters. So every time I watch a scene and/or scenes from the show, it really makes me sad how there aren’t anymore episodes of the show. The songs, along with the show, are also fantastic and memorable. In my opinion, Mlp is an S Tier show and I highly recommend giving it a watch. There is more to this show than what meets the eye.

Have you heard the new Poison remix? It was released yesterday in honor of Angel Dust as his birthday is April 1st. (That’s not a joke btw). It’s SO GOOD! That was already my favorite song from season 1 of Hazbin Hotel and honestly the remix has just made me love the song even more! It’s chilling because it actually takes some of Val’s lines from Masquerade and puts them into the song.

You raised the idea of a pony song being not upbeat, which made me try to think of the saddest mlp song. Off the top of my head, contenders would be... well, tbh pretty much any song from the low point of a musical episode, which means I Have To Find A Way (which is basically from immediately after What My Cutie Mark Is Telling Me), Pinkie's Lament, Luna's Future, or The Pony I Want To Be.
Thinking about it further, other options include I'll Fly (probably only sad in context), and Out On My Own (didn't really do much for me, but it's definitely intended to be sad).
Joke runner up: Untitled Sad Yak Song ("Yona sad, Yona sing sad song, sad Yona"). Now that I google it, apparently there are actual remixes of that, which is great.

I don't know if you'll see this but i followed you because you posted your reaction to MLP. I'm unbelievably obsessed with Friendship is magic so when I see people dip their toes in it, especially if they'd seen some of it before, always makes me so excited. Honestly, i've been sad since FIM ended and your reactions to these songs always make me cry happy tears because it's just more proof that MLP succeeded in what it set out to do. Thank you for spreading a bit of that magic!

I love when you react to MLP songs! If you haven’t already I highly recommend The Magic Inside and Shine Like Rainbows. The latter is the credit music for Rainbow Rocks but it’s still really good.

To answer your question a cutie mark is when a pony finds their calling or life “destiny” and that calling is found once the pony finds something their heart finds is their passion and or something their incredibly good at and thats connected with their “destiny” because while yes cutie marks are basically just saying what their passion is ponies often associate it with fate because your passion eventually becomes your lifes calling and or what you do in life like how pinkie pies cutie mark is balloons: it doesnt downright means shes a party pony but rather represents her passion for making other smile her need to make people happy thats her passion thats her life goal and she could still hypothetically do anything she wants but deep down that is her life calling so 9/10 her job will always be related to making people happy but it doesnt specifically say what kind of job she has to work or what kind of path shes gitta take her cutiemark is basically just a slightly taunting reminder that her special talent and “purpose” is making ponies happy so often when people get their cutie mark they dont question it much like if they dont downright have a passion for it they just go “ oh well its not my forte but apparently its what the “gods” have said is my lifes purpose “ and listen to it so if it doesnt work out or they cant do it right they start to get really concerned and start questioning their identities because if their cutiemark is wrong, or they cant accomplish their life goal the thing thats supposed to tell them their destiny what are they? Which is why the ponies are so confused and frustrated in the song! because their cutiemark says this is what they should be good at that this is their calling and passion yet they suck at it so they dont understand it and are starting to think maybe its not for them but are in denial because its their cutiemark the cutiemark is always right in their world ( this rant makes 0 sense ) there are several episodes talking about the cutie marks this song being a good one but personally i like episode S7 episode 21 because of how its really digs into the question of “ well what if a pony doesnt want to do their special talent forever? “ or “ what if a pony looses their love for their special something? Do they just have to continue on this road of a destiny they no longer want? “ its a great episode that can explain this way better than i can lmao
One of my favorite tidbits is that in that first song, the line _seems_ to be _"Friends can change the world, you see,"_ ("as you can see, friends can change the world") which is the sort of naive/optimistic statement you'd expect from a kids' show, but the way the actresses sing it, there's no pause for the comma; the line in actuality is, _"friends can change the world you see,"_ ("the way you see the world can change based on the people around you") Which is a more nuanced and realistic statement you wouldn't expect from a kids' show.
Rainbow road trip IS a movie that's why the animation is a little different, also from what I remember twilight is wearing a clothing (or whatever you called it) on her wing and that clothing, makes her wings colorful :)
5:28 We said the same thing when we saw that frame at the end of season 5. Felt like they were ending things there and they may have if more seasons weren't greenlit.
