Winx club premiered in 2004. yes season 1-4 are hand drawn but from season 5 onwards they started adding in CGI. basically the plot is this: Bloom is a normal earth girl who one day discovers a fairy and unlocks her fairy powers. Stella(blonde) invites Bloom( red head) to attend Alfea(al-fea AH) college for fairies. however there hasn't been an earth fairy for centuries( this is false but is explained in the show) so when the headmistress and the school disobedence teach find out Bloom is from earth they realize something else is going on. it starts a mystery that lasts three seasons. Griselda: I though there has been an earth fairy for centuries? Faragonda: That is true. Griselda: What about Bloom? Faragonda: Who knows. but the question is Who is Bloom? ( this question implies Bloom may not be from earth) Flora( light brown hair with pink skirt.) Musa black hair. Tecna Purple hair Layla/ashia dark brown hair.(season 2) Roxy Pink hair with orange tips( season 4
When he asked, "where are their clothes coming from? Are they just appearing?", I knew he had never seen a magical girl/transformation show before. Which just blows me away since they are such a significant genre particularly in anime. I didn't think it would be difficult to get, but I've always had them growing up.
It also happened to me in my memory winx were on earth and has like a base and there was a old man with them and there was a scene were bloom was falling down the sky after fight ( in one of the episode because she was probably exhausted) it was completely different from my memory I just can't accept that it was imagination but i couldn't find anything about it but still I will believe it exists
Winx club is a magical girl show, half medieval fantasy, half alien sci-fi. It's a slice of life with a fairy high school, but also an epic hero story with world ending dangers. And it's 100% my childhood and I love it to death.
Fight me but Enchantix was just objectively the coolest transformation. It has a beautiful design for all of them and what they had to do was done really well. And the transformation song is just a banger 😁
As a person surrounded by people with the same interests, it's surreal to see someone be so confused about magical girl transformations. Like, I've never seen an episode of Winx but familiar enough with Sailor Moon to know that this is just a normal weekend.
Bloom: Fairy of the Dragon Flame Musa: Fairy of Music Stella: Fairy of the Shining Sun(Fairy of the sun and moon) Flora: Fairy of Nature Aisha/Layla: Fairy of Waves(Fluids) Tecna : Fairy of Technology This show was my childhood and seeing them transform gives me so much of nostalgia. Personally, the first 3 seasons (and even the 4th season) are my favorite cuz they were story-heavy, lowkey pretty if not very dark, had good character development (and exploration), good character dynamics and relationships, loads of emotional moments, great transformations, good villains, and great(and creative) spells and fight scenes.
exactly, I was really scared as a kid, watching that town full of dead people and it still makes me emotional today with the music, everything after Season 4 is just bongus imo
Not to mention the best animation out of the bunch. I still can't get over the fact that, about 6 years after they supposedly finished at Alfea, they look more baby-ish than when the show began.
@@dreamingbymyshelf yeah and remember when everyone believed Enchantix was the final form?... how many riddiculous transformations came after that? 2... 3?... nah, it was 10, with 2 'sub-transformations' and 4 weird ass add-ons (except Charmix, that one's fine 'cause it was the first)
Same. I remember wanting to be Bloom for Halloween when I was about eight. (My Mom vetoed this due to their revealing costumes lol) But I was still absolutely obsessed with the show for yeearrrs
Winx Vlub is an Italian animated show released in 2004. The Winx Club would be this group of girls formed by six fairies, all with different powers. The show was born in the Marche region of Italy, but quickly became famous all over the world. The word "Winx" is inspired by the misspelling in the Italian pronunciation of the word wings.
Also, in the English version of the show has a scene in S1 where Stella describes "winx" as something akin to your individual charm. It was implied to be related to one's magic and self confidence too.
@@Kiterpuss I don't remember the scene, but I think it depended on the fact that I'm Italian and so I watched the Italian version and maybe it's set up differently. Adaptations tend to bring several changes from the original dub.
@@minji202she was supposed to be a member of the winx after season 4, but when Nickelodeon took over they deleted her out of the script in season 5 but she came back a few times in season 6/7
So the 2D animation is from the actual show, the 3D animation is from the movies. However in two of the later seasons they did do some 3D animation but the character models looked totally different in those.
@@HazbinCovenWitch Yeah the 3D animation in the show only pops up when they enter the infinite oceans in the season and then when they enter the Legendarium in whichever season that was.
My childhood once more. You have no idea how much fun it was saying the transformation words and singing the songs. The harmonix one still plays in my head at random times
OH MY GOD. WINX CLUB WAS MY LITERAL CHILDHOOD. Me and my current best friend who I've been friends with since literal first grade bonded because of this show. God, my love for this series is immeasurable. The amount of influence this series has had on me I'm not really sure is healthy and I really don't care.
@@FlamingoMCclean920 They made the show after this but it wasn't exactly like the cartoon and I didn't really like it either. It took away the magic of the original show🥹
My favourite one is Musa. •She lost her mom at a young age (like me) •She loves music (like me) •She doesn’t talk about her emotions and problems with loosing her mom with all her friends and keep them to herself to not bother her friends with them (like me) •She has dark hair (like me) •She loves dancing (like me) •She was in a relationship with Riven but he was kinda toxic (I’ve been in many relationships that were nothing but lies but they weren’t romantic ones) •She always puts her friends and family before herself (like my mom)
If you listen to the lyrics it'll usually tell you the name of the transformation. It's been awhile, but if I'm remembering correctly the reason that same song kept playing over and over was because they all got their enchantix transformation at different points in the series
Yeah, to earn their Enchantix transformation each character had to sacrifice them self for a person from their world. So they all got it at a different point in the season.
Yeah, the songs absolutely incorporate the names of the transformation (except the very first one) but they allso (at least in the movies) tell you a bit about the powers if you listen carefully. Like in belivix "all you gotta do is believe in yourself and everything will change" which is true 'couse they can't get their belivix powers unless they can get people to believe in them, to believe in fairies. So their are always hint.
Watching the first three seasons as an adult, sure there are some moments that scream kids shows, but they hold outstandingly well. Brilliant story, love the 2D art style, well thought out characters and the character depth is incredible. Really recommend. Season 4 is good. Season 5 is mid. And then season 6 is where it starts to go a bit downhill
You notice a great deal more flaws when rewatching it as an adult though. Especially regarding the storyline and worldbuilding; quite a lot of things don't make any sense whatsoever yet easily fly under the radar with a younger audience.
@@SimplymeSVEN18 oh yes definitely But I found it easy to put those to the side in my recent rewatch and just enjoy it for what it is I do hope the recreate the original series one day! A better live action would be super cool (with ALL the beloved characters there). The plot holes, more so in later seasons, do my head in but at the end of the day it’s all part of the charm of the show. Within the first few seasons it isn’t as bad as it starts to get in season four lol. The whole Morgana stuff makes no sense to me but a kid I like ate that up hahahaha
@@Sunray3000 Personally I found Fate enjoyable enough. The worldbuilding and story made more sense there and seemed more realistic imo. They also listened to their audience and improved where needed based on the feedback they got which is fairly rare nowadays with most series. It wasn't perfect, but few series rarely are in their initial season and they already showed great growth/progress in season 2 so if they'd gotten the chance I think season 3 would've turned out quite nicely. My biggest issues with the cartoon mainly focus on the fact that the three schools supposedly crank out numerous guardian fairies, specialists and witches yet seemingly have no alumni cause whenever something goes down an entire planetary kingdom can only muster up a handful of guards that's usually just in the royal palace itself. Where are the armies? Where's the guardian fairies that graduated the last decade? No wonder just about every random bad-guy can waltz in and take over Domino, Solaria, Andros etc. Just makes it seem like there were none and Alfea doesn't deserve its reputation. Even Bloom and Stella meeting makes little to no sense. Why would Radius send his only heir off-world without an escort to keep her safe... But yeah as I said it gets a lot worse after season 4.
Personally I stopped watching after they switched from the 4kids dub since that's what I grew up on and watched the show in, and I didn't like the voice actor switch lmao so I haven't seen past season 4, which according to your review, I'm not missing much
5:14 Bloom is the “last” heir to the Dragon Flame, the Magic Dimension’s force of creation if y’all don’t follow 6:53 The show creators took inspiration from Japanese magical girl anime for the transformations, namely Sailor Moon, so yes their magic changes their clothes.
Ok I'mma be honest with you: I would LOVE to see you watching and reacting to the first season of the Winx Club. Everybody who watches it on the internet has seen it before so getting a fresh reaction from someone who's never seen it would be dope
Many have emphasized how much of a real-life influencer the Winx franchise has been (at least in the earlier seasons) with outfits. They honestly started a pretty impressive trend with dresses for people because of how aesthetically pleasing their outfits tend to be.
FYI, there is no shame in being a male fan of this show. I've watched the transformations first, then got into the show itself. It's pretty cool and I'm planning to create my own Winx story.
i think i've never enjoyed this much seeing someone react to something they've never seen before TuT Mathew not knowing anything about this series and probably not even about the main genre of this (maho shojo) was so inderectly funny. And they way he pretty much guessed and understood everything correctly was so cool XD
Each of the 6 girls has a transformation for each type of transformation. The different transformations enhance their combat ability while also being useful in certain situations. Like the harmonix/sirenix ones enhance their ability to fight under water, the snow and jungle ones were to aid them in the environment they were exploring, and the first 1/2 transformations were their starter forms, with enchantix being their level up to their base form (think like a Pokémon evolution)
Some information about Winx. It’s basically about 5 (eventually 6) girls going to fairy highschool/college. There’s a lot more to the story than that, but it’s better to experience the story by itself.
Yes, their clothes ARE materializing and made of magic. Honestly the wings are the only thing that has effect on them, some wings are meant for swimming or flying faster or spread magic dust that purifies disease/ curse etc. As the years went by, the approach of the creators towards the show changed, For the first 3 seasons it was drawn by hand with just a little computer effects. After season 3, the script gets really messy, they changed details randomly and changed the characters' whole personality and at the same time stopped hand drawing the animation. A lot of fans of the show stopped watching anything that comes after season 4 cause it became trash honestly, I think they changed producers or something. Bloom- fairy of the dragon flame Flora- fairy of plants Stella- fairy of light Musa- fairy of music (she has a cool stereo magic that kinda makes the enemies bleed from their ears lol) Techna- fairy of technology Aisha- fairy of water Roxy (pink haired girl that joined at season 4)- fairy that can communicate with animals and command them.
Oh it was a mess. They changed producers, directors, writers, animators, and CONTINENTS. It started out as an Italian show up to season 3, then they sold it to Nickelodeon because they thought it being American would give it better reach world-wide... Season 4 was a collaboration between both studios, and season 5 onwards is all Nick.
I remember being confused as a kid cause it said they already graduated and came back as like teachers then the next season they're back to being students??
It's so funny to see Mathew struggles with the context of each Winx transformation! XD Here the list with the timecodes: 0:48 Magic Winx 2:52 Charmix (Season 2) 3:39 Charmix (TV Movies) 5:53 Enchantix 9:05 Enchantix 3D (Movie Version) 11:00 Believix 13:30 Believix 3D (2nd Movie Version) 14:19 Speedix Wings 14:42 Zoomix Wings 15:00 Tracix Wings 15:13 Sophix 16:07 Lovix 17:20 Harmonix 18:18 Sirenix 3D 20:29 Sirenix 20:44 Bloomix 21:26 Mythix 21:55 Butterflix (Trailer version with "Irresistible Winx" song)
It started as Italian hand drawn animation they called the rainbow style, each fairy has a different specialty. Each season they earn upgrades to their powers and a new transformation. One of the best shows it was still being made but I don't know if that got stopped again. There have been multiple hiatus and songs change depending if youre listening to the og or the nick version when they had it. There's 8 seasons, 3 movies, and two spin off shows. They start at a college for fairies and become a club that fights evil in the world even after they complete school.
I did not expect to hear the words “lava axolotl” today. Like like like- Sun. Nature. Music. Technology. Waves. Fire. Long ago, the six nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Lava Axolotl attacked.
The utter excitement and joy I felt, when I saw that you were reacting to this show, are indescribable. Even if you don't understand the context (which is pretty understandable, it's genuinely confusing), I'm just happy you got to experience the beauty of this show.
Winx was such a big part of my childhood. My sister used to ask me to tell her about the show as a bedtime story and I did from tbe first season to the fifth, including transformation songs😂. I still watch it when I'm bored. (Admittedly i stop before they get butterflix bc I only liked up until season 6😂)
The original seasons still have a special place in my heart. I watched the first two or three seasons in Dutch and still to this day I can sing the lyrics to the opening song of season 1 word for word. And you're right it does have some fight scenes, kid friendly fighting of course, but still fun. The girls you see go to a all-girls fairy school. They are learning to control and use their powers, becoming stronger and with more varied powers as the series goes on. Which is why the transformations change over time. There's also a school for male-fairies (the dude you saw with the big sword is one of them) and there's kind of an evil school too with my three favorite villains in kids TV maybe aside from Jessie and James from pokemon.
There is no male-fairies school, but there is an Specialist School (they have tech, swords and weapons, etc). Sky, the one who aappears, is Bloom's bf :p
Finally, something I can blab about! Fairies and Witches can transform in-show in order to use their magic more efficiently and flexibly. Each fairy and witch has a magical source, whether it be something classic like the elements or something more obscure like Layla's morphix. While witches don't have explicitly stated forms beyond the basic one the fairies do. First one, Magic Winx, is the basic form every fairy has. The second one, Charmix, is gained when a fairy overcomes a great personal difficulty and it serves as a power booster (in the Nickelodeon dub, which condensed S1 and S2 into 4 one hour specials, Charmix is the name of the base form, with the original charmix not existing). The third one, Enchantix, requires a fairy to save someone from her homeworld and show great sacrifice in doing so, as well as requiring Charmix. Enchantix not only strengthens them but also gives them access to fairy dust, which can negate dark magic, heal and allow them to shrink. These three are grouped as fairy levels. Beyond them are higher fairy levels. The only one explicitly seen was Believix. Believix (and likewise other higher levels) require Enchantix to have been reached. Believix additionally requires a fairy to make someone believe in magic. Essentially it is similar to Enchantix but it additionally grants them three super wings (Speedix=Faster flying, Zoomix=Teleportation, Tracix=See into the past) and they can also receive the gifts of destiny, two of which count as sub-transformations: Sophix and Lovix. Sophix brings them closer to nature, Lovix more or less serves as a protection from the cold. It also grants them special "healing powers" which allow them to get in touch with people's hearts and strengthen their belief. Afterwards we have acquired powers, which as you may have noticed are situational and more uniform. In S5 there is Harmonix, which allows them more versatile magic usage underwater as well as allowing them to breath under it. It serves as a temporary one until they reach Sirenix, which is more or less the same, except it allows them to access the infinite ocean and gives them a special sirenix power each. In S6 first there is Bloomix. It is born of the dragon flame and requires them to show an act of courage in order to earn it. The second one is Mythix which requires the mythix wands (which likewise need the fairy to prove themselves before them) and allows them to enter the world of fairytales, The Legendarium. In S7 first there is Butterflix. It requires them to prove themselves as the ultimate protectors of the fairy animals. It brings them closer to nature (Similar to Sophix) and grants them a special nature-related power each. One downside is that it cannot harm nature itself. Second is Tynix, granted to them by their fairy animals. It allows them to shrink to microscopic sizes in order to enter the miniworlds, as well as giving them each a unique power based on their fairy animal. The video doesn't include Cosmix (gained in S8, basically just allows them to breathe and fly in space) and the transformations from the spinoff, World of Winx, Dreamix and Onyrix. A few curiosities: The word "Winx", originally, was something Bloom just came up with to call their little group. In the 4Kids dub, however, the Winx is stated to be the magical energy each being possesses. The 3D transformations of Enchantix and Believix were used in the movies. 3D Sirenix is used in the infinite ocean (2D is used elsewhere), and Mythix is seen solely in 3D, as it is likewise only used in the legendarium world. The additional fairy you've seen with the villains is Roxy, the fairy of animals, who is an occasional 7th member introduced in S4.
Yes, the first few seasons are handdrawn! There's some 3D elements in the show since s1 but more for landscapes/wide shots. The power of charmix is just nickelodeon reanimating the first few seasons (making terrible cuts in terms of story). Also yes! They're fairies and the first 4 seasons are INTENSE Edit: just wanted to add please check out the movie soundtracks and the winx in concert music videos
I grew up with the early season Winx Club and let me tell you, the Enchantix storyline was my version of Avengers with the hype it caused me. And like for a kids show they had some good plots that season!
Believix was my favourite, watching them navigate earth and gradually reveal magic was so fun (Also I loved Bloom being so "What? Yeah mhm whatever" over her former bully)
Here's each fairy: 1. Bloom, fairy of the dragon flame 2. Stella, fairy of the sun and moon 3. Musa, fairy of music 4. Flora, fairy of nature 5. Tecna, fairy of technology 6. Aisha, fairy of waves I hope you react to more Winx stuff!
Unless if you count these hilarious dub fails 🤣 Dutch: Stella, fairy of the Solar pannels Hindi: Bloom, fairy of the Magic Winx Castilian Spanish: Layla, fairy of Nature
The Winx are fairies. When they transform, they can harness their abilities to the fullest. As they grow as fairies, so do their powers. Each Winx member has a specialty. Bloom - Fairy of the Dragon Flame, Stella - Fairy of the Shining Sun, Flora - Fairy of Nature, Musa - Fairy of Music, Techna - Fairy of Technology, Aisha - Fairy of Waves.
Just letting you know, the one you liked with the drums has a full version with lyrics ("Believix, let the power rise"), and the Enchantix song got an official extended version in 2021* that is just epic. You could also listen to all versions of the openings (the original italian, 4kids, Nickelodeon) as well as the endings (particularly the English version of "Superheroes" ;) )
The first three seasons are literally the foundation of my childhood! There are different dubs, and some of them even change the order of scenes and the plot. They have many transformations during the show, kind of like upgrading every season. Enchantix is a fan favourite!
the times the music didn't have any lyrics, they were special transformations, only featured for like a single episode, and some transformations did have a lot of specials, like believix around 12:00 , you can tell by how similar the transformations are. There was a song written for each transformation otherwise, so you'd know which ones are the same ones by hearing the same song at the matching ones. Well done with guessing Butterflix! ^^
So I don’t know if anyone explained it already but here you go: This show is about a club of girls who are fairies. In the first show there are 5 girls and from season 2 there are 6 girls. The girls are indeed fighting villians in every season different villians. The girls call themself Winx Club. The girls with their superpower: Bloom (red haired): fairy of the dragon flame Stella (blonde/ yellow haired): fairy of the sun and the moon Musa (blue haired): fairy of music Tecna (pink/ purple haired): fairy of technology Flora (lightbrown haired): fairy of nature Aisha or layla (darkbrown haired): fairy of the waves > she joins after season 2 About the 2d en 3d, there are 3 or 4 movies about this show the movies are in 3D. Also in season 5 some scenes are in 3D.
As a kid, I would mostly go to my grandma’s house during school breaks, and I would secretly watch Winx solely because I found the aesthetic colorful and fun (which is why I emphasized “secretly” as, back then, I felt I would get teased for it). Granted, this happened early in Nickelodeon’s partnership with Rainbow - I think Season 5 - where the series began to slowly decline in quality, but with how many new plot lines they added, I couldn’t keep up with the series enough to critique the later seasons’ problems until now. There’s a reason why the first three seasons are the peak of the series (I miss OG Valtor; hopefully, Season 9 exceeds my expectations)
I used to watch Winx Club all the time when I was younger, It was one of my all time favorites as a kid and yeah their transformations was one of the best things about the show!!!
I love Winx Club. I was obsessed with it when I was in 2nd grade, but it still holds up so well for me after all these years. It was a massive part of my childhood
Winx has always been a show I went back to growing up and even now it’s still one of the most entertaining shows I’ve seen. This show has many people, including me, in a chokehold.
Well I suppose if no one else is going to provide the context it falls to me. Synopsis: A group of young girls who are able to use magic/transform into fairies, they attend a school for fairies go on adventures. Yes sorta super-hero vibes at times like you mentioned. Layla/Aisha (the one in green) was added in season 2 so thats why she wasn't with the original group General questions: 1. Yes the clothes just appear, its a magical transformation (they do actually show in at least one episode that it is actually instant, the transformation scenes are purely for the audience. 2. The source of their powers are "light magic" slash individual things for each of them (Bloom for example being the fairy of the dragon fire, which is a sort of primordial force of creation for their world. Or Stella being fairy of the sun and moon) 3. Yes they can use the wings to fly, no they cannot fly without transforming, however they do have some magic without transforming. 4. Yea we get one song per transformation usually and everyone uses it, everyone gets new forms so we can sell more toys (That was apparently the point of this show... sell toys). 5. Each transformation basically equals a power up typically, or has a very speciffic thing they need (for example harmonix was needed just to use their powers underwater, Sirenix and Mythix were both needed to go to particular plot locations) 6. They be fairies fighting monsters and solving problems Context: 1The original is well just the original transformation song 2 this is followed up by charmix which yes was them just getting accessories as a "temporary booster" to their powers 3. Then we basically repeat the original transformation with the addition of charmix song cause the world loves "The power of charmix" its a bop and nickelodeon had just started airing the show so they used that song for the base transformation/changed things around to call the base form charmix (IDK if they kept the booster thing I didn't watch at the time) 4. Enchantix was their hyped up "Final transformation" aka the original peak of what they could achieve as fairies. Getting their powers to maxium strength and as you may have noticed yes a few girls looked half dead or fully dead. This was because in order to obtain enchantix one had to perform an act of "True Sacrifice" and save someone from their homeworld (yes there are multiple planets in this setting. Think a combo of scifi and magic, also probably relevant to mention that 3 members of this group are also princesses. Bloom the redhead in blue, Stella the blonde in orange, and Layla/Aisha in green). Hence explaining why the situation looks like shite. 5. Enchantix but 3d cause we're doing a movie, with a new song 6. Believex cause we decided to do another season and needed new toys for merchandizing. Still a bop though. I do believe it was intended to look more earth-fashion like cause this time they were actually spending the season on earth (this is the first season after they technically graduated from school) 7. Believex but 3d... not sure if this was for a movie or the tv show personally. Card effect probably just to show them all at once 8. Still believix this form was weird and had like 3 or 4 sets of different wings that did different things Standard, Zoomix(teleporting), Sophix (Plot required nature wings), Lovix (Plot required cold weather wings) Yes I am pretty sure Lovix had something to do with Christmas 9.Harmonix, ok this one is a new transformation. Also again a bop, we love our transformation song singer. This was a temporary transformation they need for plot. Cause apparently after season 2 we lost the ability to use normal transformations underwater (again we needed to sell merch apparently) 10. Sirenix is the dedicated guardian of the oceans transformations so yep... Merch and this is why they needed Harmonix to go on a quest to earn Sirenix 11. Sirenix but 2d... we don't know why they can't pick a style and stick to it. Song is still a damn bop 12. Bloomix, they basically all lost their powers but bloom cause she main character energy and she shared her powers with them giving them all a dragon/medical themed transformation 13. Mythix, its a fairytale style transformation, we needed it for plot 14. Butterflix, this one is ... where they really went downhill. Nature themed transformation, this one is heavily butterfly themed for some reason no idea why. In additon outside of what you showed there is Tynix (Basically a crystal upgrade to butterflix) and Dreamix (Dream themed), as well as Onyrix (upgrade to dreamix I think) and Cosmix (space themed)
what were the world of winx transformations called its been awhile i just remember the world of winx transformations being well borderline sexy but i could be wrong then theres the fate series but i heard it didnt do so well since the fans cried foul personally i wouldnt not have minded an adult winx club if kept the formula that worked plus keeping the adult tone with i thought was realistic i think fate tried to be a dark adult hhmmm winx club irl version i mean its pretty much what would have happened its like the power rangers comics take away some of the fantasy elements and put the characters in a real life stituation but no the fans didnt like that which i can see where the creators were trying to do but some people dont like change and never gave it a chance where there some things they could have changed yes but still
A bit of an explanation of the universe, show, characters, and everything else you where confused about, here you go: The premise of the show is that other than Earth, where normal humans live, you have a whole universe/galaxy with a lot of different planets, which are inhabited by humans (or technically humanoid beings) aswell, except that there is magic. One way that magic manifests, is that a person can have it/be born with it/learn to control it, and when they are female (and meet certain conditions), that person is then considered to be a "fairy". A fairies magic is based around a certain theme/element, for example music, the sun and moon, technology etc. While in their normal human form, they have some access to their magic, but to gain full control of it, they transform into their "fairy form" (of which there are different stages) in which they then have full access to all their magic and gain wings, with which they can fly. Magic can be used for a lot of things, but because a lot of fighting happens in the show, most of the powers and spells we see are in some way used for combat. (A magic-wielding person can also turn towards "darker" magic/learn a different branch of magic which makes her a witch. Guys can technically learn magic aswell (rare in the show tho), but most of the male characters of the show are training/are so-called specialists, a kind of warrior/skilled fighter, and rely more on magic-fueled technology than on magic itself) Our main characters are the Winx-Club and attend a boarding school/college for fairies, Alfea (the most prestigious fairy school for fairies from all planets, located on the center planet of the universe, Magix), where they learn to control and harness their powers and then chaos ensues. The Winx originally met and became friends because they were in the same dorm-suite (aka they were roommates) and the Winx Club was just a fun name they decided on for their friend group. They are Bloom (Fairy of the Dragon Flame (aka fire powers) // the redhead), mainest of the main characters; Stella (Fairy of the Sun and Moon/Shining Sun (aka light powers) // blonde/golden hair); Flora (Fairy of Nature (mainly plants/flower based powers) // light brown hair, latina coded); Musa (Fairy of Music // black hair, east asian coded) and Techna (Fairy of Technology // pink hair). In Season 2, Aisha (or in some dubs Layla) (Fairy of Waves (water based powers mostly) // curly/wavy brown hair, black) who became part of the friend group aswell. The plot is basically (this is heavily, heavily summarized lol) magic girls fight evil, the scale gets bigger and bigger each time (it started with a rivalry with a trio of witches from the witch school and then they actually evil). {{You can stop here, if this was already enough information for you. If not, continue reading}} The transformations: I already touched upon briefly what the transformations are, but there are also a lot of them - each different transformation unlocks more powers. Each fairy has their basic fairy form (first transformation in the video). When they conquer a certain fear/work on flaw (or smth like that) they gain their Charmix (basic fairy form but with stylized bag and accessoire), which makes them a bit stronger than before. Enchantix is the final form of the original fairy forms and is gained when a fairy sacrifices/is ready to sacrifice themselves (in a way) for someone (from their home planet) and unlocks all the raw magical power a fairy can posses. Every form the Winx gained after that was specialized in some way for the mission they were on - Harmonix/Sirenix for underwater magic, Believix with magic that helps make people believe in magic again, etc. In the show, most of the times you see the full transformation sequence once or twice and then they just *flash* transform instantly afterwards. If anybody wants to hear more and know more, Winx Club was my childhood and I could talk about it for hours, so feel free to ask any questions if you want! (before you ask, my fav characters were stella and musa, and also stella x brandon are the best)
Also for information about the dragon flame, it is the source of creation in their world so Bloom gets some strange benefits (like people cannot extinguish her powers entirely).
Since you kept talking over their introductions, here’s their names and their powers Bloom(the one with the orange hair) - The Fairy of the Dragon Flame Tacna(the one with the short pixie cut)- The Fairy of Technology Musa(the one with the purple pigtails)- The Fairy of Music Stella(the blond one)- The Fairy of the Shining Sun Aisha/Layla(the only black girly)- The Fairy of the Waves Flora(the brunette)- The Fairy of Nature And they are transforming because they’re disguised as humans in the human world. Also it makes them more powerful….? I’m not a good source of information, i never even finished it….
To be frank I love you Mathew for all the videos you've been doing recently because Winx, Tinkerbell, Barbie and Monster High were all of my childhood. 😆🙂
I still have memories of sitting in front of the TV Saturday mornings, switching the channel to 4Kids, and watching episodes of Winx Club. It was my favorite as a kid. This was such a nostalgic video for me. I'm glad you enjoyed the transformations!
The 3D ones are because they’re part of the Winx movies which are in 3D while the entire show is in 2D! Also the “axolotl” is a dragon as Bloom (red hair) is the fairy of the dragon flame! Stella (blonde hair) is the fairy of the sun, Flora (brown hair) is the fairy of nature, Musa (blue hair) is the fairy of music, the fairy of technology is Tecna and the fairy of waves is Aisha/Layla (she has two names depending on dub)!
I was obsessed with this show. For like 5 years of my life I would watch it constantly, while almost pulling my hair out with Riven and Musa's rollercoaster of a relationship. And feeling I would retire before Sky and Bloom's wedding Also, Enchantix, in my eyes, is the best transformation. Not only for the looks of every one of them (except Bloom, they did her dirty) but of the whole "sacrificing yourself" thing you had to go through before achieving it
@@noorbohamad5796I think they mean how she didn’t have anyone to (give herself up for) being that everyone from her birth home is..nonexistent or not around .
generally when a new song starts, it means a new wave of transformations! the first wave was their base forms, the brooches and pouches were a boost transformation, the third thing was just their base transformations reanimated (so you were right, nothing changed, they just redesigned flora), and then it was enchantix and all the rest. just funny to see the confusion haha
8:26 the clothes are part of the transformation, they never really explained how but they have powers that gives them a unique set of spells and the transformation. Those are different each season. Each one has the same "theme" but with a touch of their theme like music etc. and the clothes and the rest just appears. Maybe the magic power creates them?
6:02 he said enchated - he was so close! This transformation is called enchantix ❤😊 - He enjoyed Harmonix more than Sirenix as he should 💃- The joy on his face for Musa's Harmonix says everything 17:50
watching this after a long time of not watching winx, makes me appreciate the music SO much more. this video actually kind of made me emotional, winx was such a big part of my childhood.
This Italian show is about a group of girls from various different planets who go to Alfea to become fairies and learn magic. In later seasons, they learn how to access more advanced transformations and get Pixies as companions. The guys are from the sister school which trains guys to be knights/heroes. It also houses the boyfriends of each of the girls. They deal with issues ranging from mean girl witches, to dark lords who want to take over/destroy the universe. Main character is the redhead Bloom, from Gardenia(aka Earth).
I just realized the reason I got excited everytime they have new transformations is because their whole existence as fairies get literally upgraded hence more magical power and abilities...and thats what id like to see, more magic and them defeating enemies. Which is why i probably was obsessed with Fairytail back then.
1) The reason there were sometimes multiple transformation but they were wearing the same outfit and it was the sameish song was because it would be another version of their power or they got some kind of power up. So for example the little pin and bag in the start were like a boost of power. 2) they are a group of 6 fairies and they each have a different power, they always have their power in them but and they can use it without transforming, but like you said transforming just boosts their power and gives them their full ability 3) the reason for different transformation is because for each missions they go on they have to face different enemies and to be able to fight those different enemies they get powers that specialise in that specific task (the element or og power they have never changes tho) for example 17.32 they got this power in order to be able to fight and easily move around underwater since their enemy was underwater so your right the long dresses did signify tails 4) Winx is their club name and all of their transformation have names that end with "inx" (for example enchantix, believix, sirenix, harmonix etc) Hope this answers some of your questions!
I used to adore this show, especially Stella - it's what got me into the magic girl genre from a young age. And no, their clothes aren't magical, it's just a fancy wardrobe change that comes with the whole magic-girl-transformation format. I would love to see you watch some of the PreCure transformations, particularly from Star Twinkle, where you actually get some singing accompaniment! Also, I'll never see Bloom as anything other than the Fairy of the LAVA AXOLOTL ever again XD
Even tho i stopped watching the orecure franchise after Hug-to precure era. The transformation of star twinkle procure was so addicting to me "KIRAAAAAMEKUUUUUUUUUU HOSHI NO CHIKARA DEEEEEEEEEEEE AKOGARE NOOOOOOOOOOO WATASHI EGAKU NOOOOOOO" like idk the fact that the girls themselves are actually singing during the transformation was such a breath of fresh air to me.
This show is a strong recommend. I knew about the show since childhood, but never really watched it until I was 20. So nostalgia ain't a factor for me and I judge it from an adult viewpoint. It's true that there are some "oh that's a show for kids" moments, it has a little something for everyone (yeah I totally quoted that IGN guy). The settings are unique and fresh (especially when compared to other shows with magic), the worldbuilding is rich and full of interesting and memorable locations, the story is fascinating with many layers, the characters are compelling and offer a great variety of personalities and there's some good action scenes here and there to remind you that you're watching an Italian anime. Also, the season 3 villain is unironically one of the best villains ever in an animated show, rivaling even the likes of Bill Cypher and Azula. Give the show a shot, I believe you won't be disappointed.
Watching Matthew guess things about Winx Club and not being totally wrong but just missing the context that brings it together is amazing and funny to me. Cause like, he’s seriously not wrong, but it’s missing a little more and I love it. Also yes, the music no matter what transformation slaps.
Winx Club is a children's animated series that started in 2004 and originally aired in Italy, and many consider it our childhood. It's in the genre of magical girl anime (which includes popular media like Sailor Moon). Personally, I love seasons 1-4 in the RAI English dub (the Cinelume dub). When Nickelodeon bought the rights, they redubbed the original series, and kinda ruined the series from season 5 and onwards. But, I still enjoy rewatching the first few seasons occasionally. You could react to some of the fight scenes, especially with Valtor in season 3 or the Trix in seasons 1 and 2.
I was literally mindblown for the whole video and was screaming internally, also when he asked himself what type of fairies the others were, I screamed to the screen "if you listened and didn't rant, you would know the type of the fairies" But the other thought was he probably never saw any show of this kind with transformation, which surprises me
I love that you reacted to this. If you liked these , I highly recommend the sailor moon transformations. The 90s ones specifically. The songs are such a bop and the art is beautiful! If you want some other super fun transformations with music . The ppz anime. W.i.t.c.h Magical doremi Tokyo mew mew And mermaid melody pitchy pitchy pitch They're all super fun!!
had no idea what to expect going into this and still have no idea about it after lmao

Love your videos dude! I grew up with this show!
Winx club premiered in 2004. yes season 1-4 are hand drawn but from season 5 onwards they started adding in CGI.
basically the plot is this:
Bloom is a normal earth girl who one day discovers a fairy and unlocks her fairy powers.
( this question implies Bloom may not be from earth)
Flora( light brown hair with pink skirt.)
Musa black hair.
Tecna Purple hair
Layla/ashia dark brown hair.(season 2)
Roxy Pink hair with orange tips( season 4
The fact you didn't know what magical girl transformations were was hilarious XD

When he asked, "where are their clothes coming from? Are they just appearing?", I knew he had never seen a magical girl/transformation show before. This show was my childhood and seeing them transform gives me so much of nostalgia.

•She was in a relationship with Riven but he was kinda toxic (I’ve been in many relationships that were nothing but lies but they weren’t romantic ones)
•She always puts her friends and family before herself (like my mom)
And sometimes the cause, e.g. bloomix, "share the magic of the dragon flame"
We stan people who like Tecna, she needs more love!

@@SimplymeSVEN18 oh yes definitely
But I found it easy to put those to the side in my recent rewatch and just enjoy it for what it is
I do hope the recreate the original series one day!

As the years went by, the approach of the creators towards the show changed,
For the first 3 seasons it was drawn by hand with just a little computer effects.
After season 3, the script gets really messy, they changed details randomly and changed the characters' whole personality and at the same time stopped hand drawing the animation. A lot of fans of the show stopped watching anything that comes after season 4 cause it became trash honestly, I think they changed producers or something.

(Admittedly i stop before they get butterflix bc I only liked up until season 6😂)
as lack luster story wise as season 6 was i really really enjoyed bloomix. it was such a cool aesthetic, the warrior fairy type.
Butterflix was sorta decent, but after that it went wayyyy downhill lol

I'm currently learning dutch. Rewatching winx seems like a good way to get engaged in learning for me. Thanks for the idea!
The additional fairy you've seen with the villains is Roxy, the fairy of animals, who is an occasional 7th member introduced in S4.
ive been a fan of this show my whole life so seeing someone blindly react is SOO entertaining to me😭
Yes, the first few seasons are handdrawn! There's some 3D elements in the show since s1 but more for landscapes/wide shots.
The power of charmix is just nickelodeon reanimating the first few seasons (making terrible cuts in terms of story).
Also yes! They're fairies and the first 4 seasons are INTENSE
Edit: just wanted to add please check out the movie soundtracks and the winx in concert music videos
I grew up with the early season Winx Club and let me tell you, the Enchantix storyline was my version of Avengers with the hype it caused me. And like for a kids show they had some good plots that season!
Believix was my favourite, watching them navigate earth and gradually reveal magic was so fun
(Also I loved Bloom being so "What? Yeah mhm whatever" over her former bully)
Enchantix was absolutely Avengers level haha
Same for me. Season 3 was best. Then it went slightly downhill with 4 being average and then everything got worse with each season...
Each transformation shows a different level of power and energy, they keep evolving as they learn, grow, or are in danger.
“is it the Christmas version?”
the way i cackled LOL
Winx club is my absolute favorite show and I’m so happy you reacted to it
Winx Club is the heart of my childhood, I'm so happy you're reacting to it!
Here's each fairy:
1. Bloom, fairy of the dragon flame
2. Stella, fairy of the sun and moon
3. Musa, fairy of music
4. Flora, fairy of nature
5. Tecna, fairy of technology
6. Aisha, fairy of waves
I hope you react to more Winx stuff!

Unless if you count these hilarious dub fails 🤣
Dutch: Stella, fairy of the Solar pannels
Hindi: Bloom, fairy of the Magic Winx
Castilian Spanish: Layla, fairy of Nature
@@HeroManNick132 Wrong character xd It's Layla, fairy of the Waves
@@DenpaRaven Well, say to the Castilian dubbers that lol.
The Lava Axolotl was my favorite by far! 😂
Matthew calling the "Dragon Flame" a "Fire Axolotl" was hillairous 😂
Just letting you know, the one you liked with the drums has a full version with lyrics ("Believix, let the power rise"), and the Enchantix song got an official extended version in 2021* that is just epic.
You could also listen to all versions of the openings (the original italian, 4kids, Nickelodeon) as well as the endings (particularly the English version of "Superheroes" ;) )
THERE'S A FULL VERSION OF ENCHANTIX?
@singingofsilver so far it's only in Italian but the new verse is amazing.
@@declanmckenna6854here in Italy you Have to whatch The Winx IT'S THE LAW
The Italian intro for the show is actually emotional
So I don’t know if anyone explained it already but here you go:
This show is about a club of girls who are fairies. In the first show there are 5 girls and from season 2 there are 6 girls.
The girls are indeed fighting villians in every season different villians. The girls call themself Winx Club.
The girls with their superpower:
Bloom (red haired): fairy of the dragon flame
Stella (blonde/ yellow haired): fairy of the sun and the moon
Musa (blue haired): fairy of music
Tecna (pink/ purple haired): fairy of technology
Flora (lightbrown haired): fairy of nature
Aisha or layla (darkbrown haired): fairy of the waves > she joins after season 2
About the 2d en 3d, there are 3 or 4 movies about this show the movies are in 3D.
We all miss OG Valtor 😔
I used to watch Winx Club all the time when I was younger, It was one of my all time favorites as a kid and yeah their transformations was one of the best things about the show!!!
You have no idea the grip Winx Club had on me as a kid, I’d play fairies with my friends at recess😭. S3 is the *best* season imo ❤
THE FAIRIES WITH FRIENDS AT RECESS IS SO REAL
Couldn't agree more. S3 is the best.
THE WAY I LITERALLY DID THIS TOO,AND I WOULD PLAY MUSA
We were fairies and specialists at recess too
I swear I used to be like Magic Winx Enchantix
I love Winx Club. I was obsessed with it when I was in 2nd grade, but it still holds up so well for me after all these years. It was a massive part of my childhood
I loved this show as a kid
Winx has always been a show I went back to growing up and even now it’s still one of the most entertaining shows I’ve seen. This show has many people, including me, in a chokehold.
Well I suppose if no one else is going to provide the context it falls to me.
Synopsis: A group of young girls who are able to use magic/transform into fairies, they attend a school for fairies go on adventures. Yes sorta super-hero vibes at times like you mentioned.
Layla/Aisha (the one in green) was added in season 2 so thats why she wasn't with the original group
General questions:
Or Stella being fairy of the sun and moon)
3. Yes they can use the wings to fly, no they cannot fly without transforming, however they do have some magic without transforming.
4. Yea we get one song per transformation usually and everyone uses it, everyone gets new forms so we can sell more toys (That was apparently the point of this show... sell toys).
5. Each transformation basically equals a power up typically, or has a very speciffic thing they need (for example harmonix was needed just to use their powers underwater, Sirenix and Mythix were both needed to go to particular plot locations)
6. They be fairies fighting monsters and solving problems
Context:
1The original is well just the original transformation song
2 this is followed up by charmix which yes was them just getting accessories as a "temporary booster" to their powers
3. Then we basically repeat the original transformation with the addition of charmix song cause the world loves "The power of charmix" its a bop and nickelodeon had just started airing the show so they used that song for the base transformation/changed things around to call the base form charmix (IDK if they kept the booster thing I didn't watch at the time)
5. Enchantix but 3d cause we're doing a movie, with a new song
6. Believex cause we decided to do another season and needed new toys for merchandizing. Still a bop though. I do believe it was intended to look more earth-fashion like cause this time they were actually spending the season on earth (this is the first season after they technically graduated from school)
7. Believex but 3d... not sure if this was for a movie or the tv show personally. Card effect probably just to show them all at once
8. Still believix this form was weird and had like 3 or 4 sets of different wings that did different things Standard, Zoomix(teleporting), Sophix (Plot required nature wings), Lovix (Plot required cold weather wings) Yes I am pretty sure Lovix had something to do with Christmas
9.Harmonix, ok this one is a new transformation. Also again a bop, we love our transformation song singer. This was a temporary transformation they need for plot. Cause apparently after season 2 we lost the ability to use normal transformations underwater (again we needed to sell merch apparently)
10. Sirenix is the dedicated guardian of the oceans transformations so yep... Merch and this is why they needed Harmonix to go on a quest to earn Sirenix
11. Sirenix but 2d... we don't know why they can't pick a style and stick to it. Song is still a damn bop
12. Bloomix, they basically all lost their powers but bloom cause she main character energy and she shared her powers with them giving them all a dragon/medical themed transformation
13. Mythix, its a fairytale style transformation, we needed it for plot
Have you seen live action, tv show? That was good, too...I wish it wasn't canceled...it had good potential.
what were the world of winx transformations called its been awhile i just remember the world of winx transformations being well borderline sexy but i could be wrong then theres the fate series but i heard it didnt do so well since the fans cried foul personally i wouldnt not have minded an adult winx club if kept the formula that worked plus keeping the adult tone with i thought was realistic i think fate tried to be a dark adult hhmmm winx club irl version i mean its pretty much what would have happened its like the power rangers comics take away some of the fantasy elements and put the characters in a real life stituation but no the fans didnt like that which i can see where the creators were trying to do but some people dont like change and never gave it a chance where there some things they could have changed yes but still
A bit of an explanation of the universe, show, characters, and everything else you where confused about, here you go:
The premise of the show is that other than Earth, where normal humans live, you have a whole universe/galaxy with a lot of different planets, which are inhabited by humans (or technically humanoid beings) aswell, except that there is magic.
Guys can technically learn magic aswell (rare in the show tho), but most of the male characters of the show are training/are so-called specialists, a kind of warrior/skilled fighter, and rely more on magic-fueled technology than on magic itself)
Our main characters are the Winx-Club and attend a boarding school/college for fairies, Alfea (the most prestigious fairy school for fairies from all planets, located on the center planet of the universe, Magix), where they learn to control and harness their powers and then chaos ensues.
{{You can stop here, if this was already enough information for you. If not, continue reading}}
The transformations:
I already touched upon briefly what the transformations are, but there are also a lot of them - each different transformation unlocks more powers.
@@adrianmcbride1666bloom gets mainest main central protagonist character treatment cause it’s literally her story yet many have a problem with it
Since you kept talking over their introductions, here’s their names and their powers
Bloom(the one with the orange hair) - The Fairy of the Dragon Flame
Tacna(the one with the short pixie cut)- The Fairy of Technology
Musa(the one with the purple pigtails)- The Fairy of Music
Stella(the blond one)- The Fairy of the Shining Sun
Aisha/Layla(the only black girly)- The Fairy of the Waves
Flora(the brunette)- The Fairy of Nature
And they are transforming because they’re disguised as humans in the human world.
I remember this show ok The WB4Kids and the intro was “Close your eyes and open your heart believe in yourself that’s how it’s starts”
I was obsessed with this show. For like 5 years of my life I would watch it constantly, while almost pulling my hair out with Riven and Musa's rollercoaster of a relationship. And feeling I would retire before Sky and Bloom's wedding
Also, Enchantix, in my eyes, is the best transformation. Not only for the looks of every one of them (except Bloom, they did her dirty) but of the whole "sacrificing yourself" thing you had to go through before achieving it
I like Bloom’s enchantix outfit
@@noorbohamad5796I think they mean how she didn’t have anyone to (give herself up for) being that everyone from her birth home is..nonexistent or not around .
Yess! Another one of my childhood!! I love this show!
just diving into everyone's childhood
generally when a new song starts, it means a new wave of transformations! the first wave was their base forms, the brooches and pouches were a boost transformation, the third thing was just their base transformations reanimated (so you were right, nothing changed, they just redesigned flora), and then it was enchantix and all the rest. just funny to see the confusion haha

People who see Blooms tranformation: wow cool! looks like she has fire dragon powers or something!
Mathew: ah yes. FIRE AXOLOTL

watching this after a long time of not watching winx, makes me appreciate the music SO much more. this video actually kind of made me emotional, winx was such a big part of my childhood.
The great Dragon,
creator of the magical universe, source of life, power to heal
and you called it a lava Axolotl.
I love it
I just realized the reason I got excited everytime they have new transformations is because their whole existence as fairies get literally upgraded hence more magical power and abilities...and thats what id like to see, more magic and them defeating enemies.
Which is why i probably was obsessed with Fairytail back then.
Its honestly so cool to hear the opinions of someone that has no idea about the show, loved the video ^^
i saw "mathew mckenna" and "winx" on the same link and i almost SCREAMED DUDE I CANT WAIT TO SEE YOUR REACTION TO THIS IM SO EXCITED :D
1) The reason there were sometimes multiple transformation but they were wearing the same outfit and it was the sameish song was because it would be another version of their power or they got some kind of power up. So for example the little pin and bag in the start were like a boost of power. 2) they are a group of 6 fairies and they each have a different power, they always have their power in them but and they can use it without transforming, but like you said transforming just boosts their power and gives them their full ability 3) the reason for different transformation is because for each missions they go on they have to face different enemies and to be able to fight those different enemies they get powers that specialise in that specific task (the element or og power they have never changes tho) for example 17.32 they got this power in order to be able to fight and easily move around underwater since their enemy was underwater so your right the long dresses did signify tails 4) Winx is their club name and all of their transformation have names that end with "inx" (for example enchantix, believix, sirenix, harmonix etc)
Hope this answers some of your questions!
Dude, it's magic. You don't need to understand that tu love it.😂
Each new transformation is meant to represent them having reached a new level of power.
Asking "where the clothes are coming from" makes me think his mind would melt if he tried to make sense of Sailor Moon
The believix has three pairs of extra wings with different power. I is for teleportion, 1 is for see in the past, and 1 is for super speed
YES HE FINALLY REACTED TO THEM
2:00 “They lowkey look like fairies” I DIED it caught me so off guard 🤣🤣🤣
I was literally mindblown for the whole video and was screaming internally, also when he asked himself what type of fairies the others were, I screamed to the screen "if you listened and didn't rant, you would know the type of the fairies"
But the other thought was he probably never saw any show of this kind with transformation, which surprises me
Finally my love Techna getting the recognition she deserves
I love that you reacted to this. If you liked these , I highly recommend the sailor moon transformations. The 90s ones specifically. The songs are such a bop and the art is beautiful!
