Watching you react to mlp songs is somehow healing my inner child so much because people always called me weird for liking these songs and listening to them unironically at school and in public so watching you see these songs and actually enjoy them is really healing in a way. Thank you Mathew, genuinely thank you.
I never grew out of this show it ended in my mid teens like 2-3 years ago now and this show is still one of my favorites and it's a comfort show for me when I'm sad
Cheese sandwich’s cutie mark is supposed to be a cheese stretch from a grilled cheese, made to look like an accordion because that’s Weird Al’s main instrument
Kelly Sheridan never disappoints. (She plays multiple characters in MLP.) And she is such a good singer! I’d love to see her more often. Honestly, Mattel should’ve let her do the singing for some of the Barbie films. Sad they let her go for a younger voice.
Watched MLP when it was running, and let me tell you, seeing you discover these songs and episodes has made me so happy and nostalgic. Also yes, I cried seeing the Crusaders get their Cutie Marks too lol. It was one of the biggest payoffs for me as a viewer. Great video!!!
So, for We'll Make our Mark, the reason the Crusader's got their mark, was because they helped Diamond Tiara actually discover what her Cutie Mark actually symbolized. As the filly herself didn't know. Why and how they ended up doing that, and what it actually is, I won't spoil here. But suffice to say, was a good episode.
I started watching this show when I was 8 years old, and I'm still a fan as a 21-year-old middle school teacher; I still remember watching the day the show premiered
Yay, he reacted to the cult song. :D Also the pony who did the lead vocals on the song is Starlight Glimmer. Also the episode with that song is called The Cutie Map (the 2 part season 5 premiere), the cutie map is a map in that season where the mane 6 (and Spike) are sent around Equestria and beyond to solve friendship problems. Also Cheese Sandwich and Pinkie Pie end up together. c:
Apples to the Core is a total bop, you don't just listen to that only once and move on. It's impossible! Super Duper Party Pony is really great too, actually every single song in that episode slaps. And of course there's We'll Make Our Mark. Such a great song. It, too, makes me so happy, but also to shed a "few" tears of joy. The waterworks always get let loose when Applejack, Rainbow and Rarity join in. I'm always just SO HAPPY for the Crusaders.
If you are looking for songs from the show then try: "Kirin song", "Better way to be bad" and "say goodbye to the holliday" + " Luna's future" (it's kind off 2 parter song) :3 If you are in the mood for something with more fandom power then "Lullaby for a princess" and "Moon rises" (those 2 are THE fanmade songs and work like 2 sides of one coin)
Mlp makes me so emotional just to let you know. Even to episodes that I have seen before. This is single handedly is the most emotional series I have ever watched. Just to put it into perspective, this series had made me cry more than every other series has ever made me put together. This series is the best one I have ever watched. It is better than most other grown-up series I've seen like Dr who or eureka or star trek or even red vs blue. There are a lot of other shows and movies that I watch that don't get anywhere close to how incredible mlp is in my life.
Apples to the Core is such a cute song and one of my favorites. Pinkie is there because she found a document that she’s pretty sure says that’s the Pie family and the Apples are related, which would make her and AJ distant cousins. So the family takes a road trip to find more info on the matter.
17:33 basically pink found out they might be related, however due to shenanigans we are unsure whether or not the are related, but they do act like family now
Equestria girls songs I suggest - Music to my ears, Shake things up, True original, rainbow rocks opening titles, friendship games opening titles Friendship is magic songs: Celestia's Ballad, The Magic Inside, Rainbow, Off to see the world, living in colour
Hope Shines Eternal is a credits song, so it's same everything's-all-happy tone/tune as the other end credits songs: Friend for Life (original EG movie), Shine Like Rainbows (my favorite, Rainbow Rocks), Right There in Front of Me (Friendship Games), and whatever the others are... I've not really seen them. The end credit songs are like hidden gems that I feel like not everyone knows well.
That's the thing about songs from mlp G4 Mathew, They are so catchy and perfectly performed that it seems like you can never get used to how good they are. But all you can do is just try.
With much of the show so hard to find nowadays, you reacting to these videos really brings out the nostalgia in me. So many of those songs inspired me as a singer and as a person
Hope shines eternal is actually the credits song from the movie, so it makes sense to do the lyric video. Apples to the core, Pinkie found out that they might be distantly related, like several generations back, distant. But that was more than enough for Pinkie. Applejack talking to Apple Bloom in the crusader's song was the first time they directly referenced the Apple parents being gone. There'd been hints before, but that was the first time they made it that clear.
There's actually a version of "Apples to the Core" that was shown by the show staff at a con. It's an animatic that doesn't have Bic Mac's vocals in yet. I'd be interested in the reaction to that unfinished version with less percussion, etc. and why it sounds better after the fact.
I'd say, as around 70% of FIM was fan content, check out some of those songs. Maybe Fly my Kite, Soldiers of the Night, Lullaby for a Princess, or some of the abridge songs, for your brand of scarring, go from Big Brother, to It'll be Ok.
I love the last song honestly, it’s so wholesome. After like 6 seasons (I think) of trying to get them and worrying about it, they end up all having the same cutie mark and get to continue what they’ve been doing since they met.
I just love in the first song, he quoted a DIRECT line from the book Animal farm by George Orwell “All are equal, but some are more equal then others” I find that very funny 💀
Me: it’s been years since I’ve even touched Friendship is Magic, this will be fun CMC: “and here we are, best friends, about to start it again, an adventure that never will end” Me: *suddenly sobbing*
8:47 - Cheese Sandwich's cutie mark, yes, it's a grilled cheese, but it's also an accordion. This is to reference the one who provided Cheese's voice - Weird Al Yankovic
Aw, hell yeah! Been wanting to ask for more MLP reactions. Gonna once again ask for / recommend Season 7, episode 13. It'd be pretty epic. Edit: Well, damn. Not gonna lie, last got me almost ready to cry. I love this show with all my heart, holy😭
Somehow this guy read my mind cus the other day I was wondering if he was gonna make another mlp song reaction. But um anyways, something interesting that I just found out about, all the song demos for MLP and Equestria Girls was leaked on TH-cam a few years ago. So I was sitting in my bed at 1 in the morning going down a rabbit hole listening to them and hearing how the songs could have gone, and amazed at how different some of them sounded in its early stages. Make our mark, being one of these songs had a few changes. Most notably, rainbow dash was originally call call scootaloo little sister instead of little buddy. The song demos go from all the way to season 1, to season 8, to the equestria girls specials. No season 9 songs.
"This is so sweet I am DYING." Reminds me of the quote from season 1 that I always thought encapsulated the show perfectly. "I had never felt joy like that before! I felt so good I just wanted to keep smiling forever!" -Pinkie Pie
In "apples to the core" Pinkie sings with Apple family because in that episodes they find out they are distantly related. In the end it wasn't confirmed for sure but it was alluded that they are in fact related. After that they even celebrate some holidays together apple family and rock family
I'm sure a bunch of other people have also said this but the reason Pinkie Pie is in the song apples to the Core it's because she had just found out that she was a distant relative of the Apple family and they were going to confirm with another member of the family who keeps the family record to make sure that the the pie family in apple family what actually related
One thing I loved about the cutie mark crusaders, is that they have throughout the show help ofther ponies with understanding their cutie marks, so their marks weren't out of the field, they helped Bab Seed and the roodio pony understand their won marks because they didn't understand them. And their individual marks match with their own personal histories, Scotaloo is great with scooter stunts, going fast on her scooter so she has a wing representing her speed; Sweetie Bell has a note because she has an amazing singing voice, Apple Bloom has an apple like the rest of her family, she's an apple to the core.
Watching this show for 7 years and finally seeing them get their cutie marks makes me cry every time. I was at work when the episode aired and didn’t get a chance to watch it until my break and it took everything I had not to keep crying when I went back to work. It’s so beautiful and such an amazing episode. And you get Diamond Tiara development and it actually makes you feel for her a little bit. The show deserves every bit of praise it gets for what it put out there.
im glad im not the only one who cried at we’ll make our mark because i remember that episode and it was just such a good episode and made me so emotional and the older sisters (figures in the case of rainbow) singing to them just made my eyes leaky and ahh
5:26 Someone likely already said this, but she _does_ have a reeducation cabin complete with propaganda on loudspeaker on loop until you are ready to conform......
I am physically incapable of not crying when I hear "We'll Make Our Mark". Just watching them grow through the show and then we get this banger? I'm reduced to tears every single time.
Apples To The Core is from an episode where Pinkie Pie and Apple Jack discover that they may actually be distant cousins, so they're traveling to confirm thar fact. Also, it's about the Apple family, they don't have last names so their family name is based around their theme, for instance the Apple Family is primarily composed of apple farmers, and they all have names based on apples or apple products, so they're the Apple family.
I come from a non English talking country so I lack some of the nostalgia listening to these songs in English, but I still think it’s entertaining to watch
We'll Make Our Mark makes me cry EVERY time I hear it without fail. Even happened while watching this reaction! Always at the montage part because like... at the time of the episode airing, I'd been watching these three characters grow for the last 5 years, since I was just 3 years old, and they finally achieved their most important goal. I genuinely sobbed my heart out the first time - much to my mother's concern and confusion lmao My top suggestions would be Bats, or - since you reacted to Super Duper Party Pony - basically any other song from the Pinkie Pride episode as they're all just top tier (Cheese Confesses being the exception but it's still a decent song), Pinkie's Lament is my personal favourite and I think it's kinda underrated these days
I know Rarity and Granny Smith share the same VA but am I alone in picking up Rarity's voice at the end of Apples to the Core? Also, watching the crusaders make their mark was so powerful I was able to hold back my tears by the end of the song but when the whole town got together it all came flooding out of me. This whole show is something else. I didn't bother looking into it until New Years last year when I came across one of these videos but am I glad I did. Actually been hooked ever since.
Six minutes ago. My feed just throws anything MLP related at me so quick. My notifications for everything else are so delayed. But MLP and SOAD both just immediate The cult does have a reeducation room lmfao Also, Pinkie is actually related (distantly) to the Apple family. Her and Applejack are distant cousins.
I’m a 45 year old man and was introduced to this generation my little pony by my two young daughters when they requested me to play it in the car. I became an instant fan of the songs. The lyrics were very well written and the music arrangement excellent. The first song was also a great way to educate my kid about the history of communism and its pitfalls. I even listen to the soundtrack at work sometimes!
I love these my little pony vids you make because it is helping me rediscover them and give them more appreciation as well as just seeing the different theams I probably brushed over as a child
When Rarity sings to Sweetie Bell in Make Our Mark, I always have to choke back tears because her being so proud of her little sister is so relatable for me as a big sister.
I remember going to Ponycon in 2014 that Andrea Libman and Peter New attended and you were the host on their panel, watching you react to the songs has taken me back on a nostalgia trip to those times so much that I’ve actually begun to rewatch the show (The songs actually get better so much in the later seasons, which you wouldn’t think is possible given the songs were already so good). I’d definitely recommend listening to It’s Gonna Work and Pinkie’s Present if you haven’t already (Apart from Apples To The Core, they’re the main ones I find myself singing randomly even when I haven’t watched for awhile)
literally i thought the same thing when i saw the first cheese sandwich episode, and good luck? we were right. pinkie was literally the only one in the crew who got a kid
The first song is from a _facinating_ episode. Someone once wrote a whole analysis of cults in media, and the Our Town cult was one of their key examples. It was really interesting.
The studio version of we’ll make our mark is something I prefer because diamond tiara has a line that shows her growth as well According to the wiki it’s a deleted lyrics but it’s in the studio version Diamond tiara: Cutie Mark Crusaders, I've got Something I need to say I was headed down a path That was leadin' me astray But now, I've changed my ideas You helped me see I care I'm gonna show the world How much I have to share You've made your mark And showed me a better way You've made your mark Helped me see how I could change All I thought I ever knew of my cutie mark! "We'll make our mark" makes me cry every time. That aside, Aj saying blooms parents would be proud, the little buddy, and you've inspired me too, all make me so emotional.
Watching you react to mlp songs is somehow healing my inner child so much because people always called me weird for liking these songs and listening to them unironically at school and in public so watching you see these songs and actually enjoy them is really healing in a way. Thank you Mathew, genuinely thank you.
They were mad because they secretly liked them too and didn’t want to admit it :)
Mlp songs are great
@@beeftips1628so are the episodes they belong to~
No kidding, I still listen to it out loud in public but I always get judged but they are soooo gooood I can’t just leave them in the past!!!
I literally lived the same thing 😭
MLP music stans unite lol
i love how he asked "do they even have a last name?" while listening to them sing that they're apples to the core
I never grew out of this show it ended in my mid teens like 2-3 years ago now and this show is still one of my favorites and it's a comfort show for me when I'm sad
Samee
Sorry to do this to you, but it's actually been more than 4 years since it ended. Still, a damn good comfort show.

Watching cute and colorful ponies singing cheerful and positive songs is all we need at this time of the year. 🥰☺💖
Ah yes cheerful 😁 we are all very happy and cheerful here =
I love how Mathew is so creeped out by In Our Town. That song freaked me out as a kid.
then it did its job
Is it bad that the song actually made me happy?
Glad to see some love for Hope Shines Eternal. It's criminally underrated imo
yessss! one of my favourite songs from the entire franchise
@@jaimee6672 Me too!
As a Canadian, she means a lot to me
Watched MLP when it was running, and let me tell you, seeing you discover these songs and episodes has made me so happy and nostalgic.
Yeah if he hasn't seen "Pony I Wanna Be", and "Light of your Cutie Mark", he needs to.
If you are looking for songs from the show then try: "Kirin song", "Better way to be bad" and "say goodbye to the holliday" + " Luna's future" (it's kind off 2 parter song) :3
If you are in the mood for something with more fandom power then "Lullaby for a princess" and "Moon rises" (those 2 are THE fanmade songs and work like 2 sides of one coin)
He’s already reacted to the fandom songs, but yeah the other ones are great ideas! Oh, and he’s seen Luna’s Future too
@@jademuseplays guess I forgot. It was quite some time ago XD
A Kirin Tale is a great choice and an interesting counterpoint to "In Our Town". And "You're in my Head Like a Catchy Song" is a must.
17:33 basically pink found out they might be related, however due to shenanigans we are unsure whether or not the are related, but they do act like family now
Equestria girls songs I suggest
- Music to my ears, Shake things up, True original, rainbow rocks opening titles, friendship games opening titles
Friendship is magic songs:
Celestia's Ballad, The Magic Inside, Rainbow, Off to see the world, living in colour
Nine seasons of pure awesomeness. One of the key shows of my childhood
Don't forget to watch the movies and specials. They only add to the pure awesomeness.
@@murderman7265 of course
Hope Shines Eternal is a credits song, so it's same everything's-all-happy tone/tune as the other end credits songs: Friend for Life (original EG movie), Shine Like Rainbows (my favorite, Rainbow Rocks), Right There in Front of Me (Friendship Games), and whatever the others are... I've not really seen them. The end credit songs are like hidden gems that I feel like not everyone knows well.
Oh boy I am preparing for the nostalgia (as per usual for a Matthew McKenna video) and I am HERE FOR IT!!!!!!!
That's the thing about songs from mlp G4 Mathew, They are so catchy and perfectly performed that it seems like you can never get used to how good they are. But all you can do is just try.
You should really finish the series, you'll love where it goes! (Plus, it's some good patreon content)
The purple and teal pony's name is Starlight Glimmer
With much of the show so hard to find nowadays, you reacting to these videos really brings out the nostalgia in me. So many of those songs inspired me as a singer and as a person
It makes me so happy that you reacted to "We'll Make Our Mark". The song always makes me tear up.
I go back and watch that every now and then. The audience clapping makes it so good.
Me: it’s been years since I’ve even touched Friendship is Magic, this will be fun
CMC: “and here we are, best friends, about to start it again, an adventure that never will end”
Me: *suddenly sobbing*
3:44 Who would've thought an Animal Farm quote would've fit perfectly to describe My Little Pony? Before Gen 4.
"This is so sweet I am DYING." Reminds me of the quote from season 1 that I always thought encapsulated the show perfectly.
"I had never felt joy like that before! I felt so good I just wanted to keep smiling forever!" -Pinkie Pie
I love that Mathew joked about a re-education camp, because we actually see they have one.
In "apples to the core" Pinkie sings with Apple family because in that episodes they find out they are distantly related. In the end it wasn't confirmed for sure but it was alluded that they are in fact related. After that they even celebrate some holidays together apple family and rock family
That last song makes me cry every time I love the crusaders sm😭😭
I'm sure a bunch of other people have also said this but the reason Pinkie Pie is in the song apples to the Core it's because she had just found out that she was a distant relative of the Apple family and they were going to confirm with another member of the family who keeps the family record to make sure that the the pie family in apple family what actually related
Amazing video and you chose awesome songs to listen to
One thing I loved about the cutie mark crusaders, is that they have throughout the show help ofther ponies with understanding their cutie marks, so their marks weren't out of the field, they helped Bab Seed and the roodio pony understand their won marks because they didn't understand them.
We'll make our mark is from my favorite season 5 episode. The music is amazing throughout and the emotins are great
Whole episode "crusaders of the lost mark" worth watching. It's basically musical and veeeeery entertaining!
I love the fact that Cheese Sandwich is voiced by Weird Al, that’s so cool to me
I still watch these while I work out in the gym. Such a lovely show
I am physically incapable of not crying when I hear "We'll Make Our Mark". Just watching them grow through the show and then we get this banger? I'm reduced to tears every single time.
Apples To The Core is from an episode where Pinkie Pie and Apple Jack discover that they may actually be distant cousins, so they're traveling to confirm thar fact. Also, it's about the Apple family, they don't have last names so their family name is based around their theme, for instance the Apple Family is primarily composed of apple farmers, and they all have names based on apples or apple products, so they're the Apple family.
ugh, the CMC getting their cutie marks made me cry from happiness man, it was probably one of my favorite moments in the show ever
I come from a non English talking country so I lack some of the nostalgia listening to these songs in English, but I still think it’s entertaining to watch
Yay! It's always a good day when Mathew drops a new MLP song reaction video.
I genuinely sobbed my heart out the first time - much to my mother's concern and confusion lmao
My top suggestions would be Bats, or - since you reacted to Super Duper Party Pony - basically any other song from the Pinkie Pride episode as they're all just top tier (Cheese Confesses being the exception but it's still a decent song), Pinkie's Lament is my personal favourite and I think it's kinda underrated these days
During “Apples to the Core”, the episode is about trying to figure out if Pinkie’s family is related to the Apples; there was family trees involved.
21:23 It's okay, I'm already sobbing
I also teared up a bit on that last one. It always gets me.
Congrats on 300K subscribers and I hope you have a Merry Christmas ❤
Six minutes ago.
My feed just throws anything MLP related at me so quick. My notifications for everything else are so delayed. But MLP and SOAD both just immediate
The cult does have a reeducation room lmfao
Also, Pinkie is actually related (distantly) to the Apple family. Her and Applejack are distant cousins.
Omg the all together episode I loved that ep as a kid 😂
I have a lot of issues with the CMC's cutie marks, but We'll Make Our Mark breaks me every time, especially Rarity's line.
Yeah.. Hey it's Shady!!
"Is his name like, Cheese Toastie or something?" 😂😂😂
Btw you have to watch the Super Duper Party Pony reprise, it's so adorable
I discovered you from this video. And I love you now. I love My Little Pony. I'm going insane.
PERFECT TIMING! I've literally just got back into the show and I've got all the songs stuck in my head.
I love these my little pony vids you make because it is helping me rediscover them and give them more appreciation as well as just seeing the different theams I probably brushed over as a child
congrats on 300K sub mathew!
When Rarity sings to Sweetie Bell in Make Our Mark, I always have to choke back tears because her being so proud of her little sister is so relatable for me as a big sister.
You should consider doing some of the fan songs. they can be just as amazing in different ways, and run thru all possible genres.
I really hope you do Im just a pony next! Its just so beautiful
"You need to go back to the re-education camp" Mathew i am about to ruin your whole day
👀 my exact reaction
literally i thought the same thing when i saw the first cheese sandwich episode, and good luck? we were right. pinkie was literally the only one in the crew who got a kid
I'm in year 3 of being a legal adult, and it still holds up.
19:56 you’ll never understand how much bronies and mlp fans cried at this
Ah yes I was waiting for this one!!! I'm glad you are still doing MLP reactions
This vid was a big one! Amazing selection of songs with grreat reactions there thank you very much!
The first song is from a _facinating_ episode. Someone once wrote a whole analysis of cults in media, and the Our Town cult was one of their key examples. It was really interesting.
The studio version of we’ll make our mark is something I prefer because diamond tiara has a line that shows her growth as well
According to the wiki it’s a deleted lyrics but it’s in the studio version
Diamond tiara:
Cutie Mark Crusaders, I've got
Something I need to say
I was headed down a path
That was leadin' me astray
But now, I've changed my ideas
You helped me see I care
I'm gonna show the world
How much I have to share
You've made your mark
And showed me a better way
You've made your mark
Helped me see how I could change
All I thought I ever knew of my cutie mark!
Edit: also If you’re going to react to more mlp songs than I suggest you should react to songs from the g5 series from make your mark or tell your tale
Song suggestion:
Starshine time
With a little creativity
Fresh
All for the love of trash
Iconic
Magic in us
Don’t lose your groove
I love My Little Pony as a kid. That's one of my favorite childhood shows of all time. Their songs are so great and heartwarming. These are full of positivity and memorable moments
🎵🎵🎵🦄🦄🦄
Apples to the core, they're checking a family history record to find out if Pinkie Pie is a distant cousin or relative of a sort.
seeing apples to the core always makes me happy, I specifically remember seeing the official animatic for this from some season 4 teasers at a convention so that one always sticks with me :]
Also, Centaurworld. You should react to Centaurworld songs. I recommend the songs Centaurworld, Fragile Things, The Nowhere King, and Nothing Good
Oh yeah. The nowhere king song was haunting
Omg so happy I found your channel. I love MLP and this was my show in college that helped me with anxiety with my Autism and ADHD. I related to Pinkie Pie alot. And this show is amazing that it relates to everyone on some level. The Equestria Girl I'm happy it came out good. At first all fans were worried about a human high school style but Equestria Girls became an amazing edition to this series. These my little pony songs were there for me in college and have a special for me. Merry Christmas and Hearths Warming eve ❤❤❤🎉
I love these reactions, keep it upp!
