Calculating and flying a Half Standard Rate Turn | Theory Quickie | Microsoft Flight Sim

This is a tutorial showing how to calculate and fly a half standard rate turn in Microsoft Flight Simulator (FS2020). The aircraft we will use is the Cessna 172 both six pack and G1000.
The quick tutorial is based on a question from the FAA Pilot Training and written Exam question database. This tutorial will help you understand how the rate of turn changes on an aircraft when the bank angle is changed and the airspeed is maintained constant. We will become more familiar with the turn coordinator during this tutorial and also complete some angle of bank calculations for the rate of turn.
