    This watch is literally my dream watch become reality. It is a G-Shock, It is square and stylish yet low key, it is a sports watch with and interface that isn't very distracting. Sadly though I can't afford it but one day I guess even it becomes outclassed.

    I wouldnt call it an apple watch killer. YET .
    The software isn't quite there, and the watch needs to do some improvements. I will buy this watch sometime in the future because I want a nice gshock with heartrate and oxygen level scanning sensors to track my calorie deficit, but Casio needs to improve on this model and also improve the software, which is lackluster to say the least.

  • @bogrot69
    @bogrot69 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    It seems stupid but I think they mde the shroud removable so you could have better access to the buttons when you need to use them a lot. Can't think of any other reason for that. I bought the GBD 200 and after seeing several reviews I'm passing on this one. I have no need for a smart watch I have some really nice Squares and for MIP the GBD 200 is perfect for me. I dont think it's likely they'll release a solar MIP square in the near future. All of the Move watches are Tough Solar except the smaller square models. I watched a video about the designing of the Solar Cartier Tank. The amount of surface area needed to power the watch is very specific. They ended up using the numbers on the dial as the solar panels. If you look at these squares, theres not much room for any solar panels. Maybe in time they can reduce the power consumption of the MIP screens.

    • @BraveBeaters
      @BraveBeaters  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I am really curious to know more about the solar surfaces and how effective they are. They used only the roman numerals on the tank?! OMG! I am pretty satisfied with the contrast of this one, but yes, I think that energy wise, they can be optimized to ensure full charging through the solar feature for the heart rate permanently. Cheers!

    This is a good move made by Casio. And yes, another watch that can be bought as an excuse 😂 I’m still facing the problem that my apple watch has to stay home just to put casios on my wrist. It is the looks vs the smart features battle for me. In the future casio can develop even more smart features. Or they just need a colab with a smartphone company 😁

    • @bogrot69
      @bogrot69 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      All of the watches in the Move collection are Tough Solar except for the square models. Pretty sure the reason is the lack of space for solar panels. It takes a lot more juice to run the MIP screens annd they are larger leaving nexto nothing for panel space.

    The video title is a little bit misleading... sounds like clickbait - but I watched it till the end and like it.
    The new DW-H5600 is just a G-Shock that thinks is a smartband/fitness band and Apple Watch is just a smartwatch who thinks is tough enough to go into the woods.. but at the end of day... both are just "experiments": will see how long they will last

    Love this watch and have one but man I hate the fact the phone app is so basic in comparison to Garmin. It would do so much better if Casio had added integration to Apples heathkit or Google Fit so that the data collected had a lot more usability too it. Strava integration is offered on the G-shock move app but not here too - AAAGH

    • @Timeculture
      @Timeculture ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No! not asking Casio to suck up to apple or google! i love the G-shock just as basic as it is. G-shock users aren't the type for all that integration.
      its for people who aren't constantly "nerding" about details but want a watch focused on brute hard data that is reliable and consistent.

    • @LE60LAD
      @LE60LAD ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Timeculture some of us are just that nurding - casio invested a lot of cash with Polar to get it's fitness matric right in this watch but the data is just about useless. It has o2 monitoring that via the app you can't use it for anything as its basically not available. Integration can be turned on or off by the user so its your choice if you want to nerd out or not. I love g-shock got a few along with garmin and apple watches and it was my hope to be able to use this in the gym environment but sadly it's not able to show me the info I want yet its way more capable of doing so as it records the data I want it just the app is piss poor at showing it. A fast track way of giving people that info is give it to the pro's that have a good few years on Casio in this area. And if you don't want to do that there is a off button for that. Personally bought the solar powered version of this watch...
    Utterly disappointed with brand Casio G-Shock!
    Just after 3 or 4 months of normal usage ( No swimming, No Diving, No Extreme water Sports, No Surfing) it developed fog and water vapour inside the glass disrupting the time view.
    I went to the Casio Service centre but the service center people bluntly told me that there was no option for replacement. They also shamelessly told me that their watches are water resistant and not water proof. They said they never claim that their watches are water proof in their advertising also. They simply changed some parts and dried the fog or water vapour inside AND after a few months the fog and water vapour inside the glass RETURNED. What a Waste. 👎
    Had it been the case of putting the watch under extreme conditions , it is understandable, but the refusal to replace the watch under normal conditions seemed callous and unprofessional on part of Casio. Utterly disappointed by such a big brand LIKE CASIO AND G-SHOCK with big & HOLLOW claims! 😒

    nice review! I don't wear smartwatches, I don't respect them so much. But last year my job is little forcing to buy one, because I can't miss notifications, maybe this G-Shocks would be an excuse... ) But again, if I buy it I will have to wear it always, what a compromise!

    Dear Casio. Just give us a watch. I love the display size and the crisp display. But please don't make your G Shocks smart watches. I don't need my watch to have blu tooth connectability or step counter or heart rate reader.

      It does. The case is technically carbon reinforced just like the carbon core but it has bio-resin instead of regular resin mixed with the filaments therefore can’t be called carbon core.

    No killer of apple and especially not garmin. Both have much better package for an athlete or someone in need of medical monitoring. Better sensors, better app, much more sleek, small , light and compact design. So this watch is stuck somewhere in the middle where no serious athlete will choose it over a garmin and not many watch enthusiasts/purists will pick it up because its to expensive and resembles disposable smartwatches to much. So its kinda in a place of lost identity until they refine and advance it further.
