I have several premium G-shocks, but I only wear GBD-200 every day. It is light and has a large display with good visibility.

Sucks that it does not have a countdown timer, Casio goofed up with this omission. The GBX does have that feature, but the GBD doesn't
After the MWC's in depth review I realised that the new smart square is actually too smart for my daily needs and too thick because of the heart monitor ♥ So I think this one currently is a better option. I'm sure some day we'll see the regular square with this MIP display with a few extras like solar power & bluetooth. But for now I'd choose this DWH5600.

@@jiv32 Yup, that's the main reason why I don't have one. Apparently they will continue to improve the MIP line, it seems like people like this display, it definitely is much better than the classic negative one. So eventually we'll get what we want, until then I'm fine with my few current Gs.

I chatted briefly with Russell the other day. We both own the GBD 200 and he agreed the design is much better than the H5600. The buttons are much easier to access when you're using the menu system as well. They are larger and there's the center button also.
@@zibel5007 Trouble with MIPs is they require a lot more juice to run than the LCDs. If you look at the G Shock Move line, all of the large models with round cases have Tough Solar but none of the smaller models do, even though they are newer. There's no room for the solar panels required. Same reason the DWH5600 needed external charging.
You made the right decision. I got the DW-H5600 and I think this one is better.
Why? Is it uncomfortable to wear the H5600?
@@gergogonczi3741 Yes, to me it is uncomfortable. Not terribly, but there are other G-Shocks that fit better.
Well, I've tried it on, but the thickness and the weird sensors just didn't sit right on my wrist. Anyways, thanks for watching 😎

You can adjust the time on this watch without using BT, just press and hold the upper left button and you go to the another dispay and there you find time adjust and there you can adjust your time and date the only thing you can not set is the seconds

@@castleclubclipz , I mean the regular 5600. But I think even the structure is better than the DW-H5600: way better buttons and a larger screen for more space to the Tough Solar on the GBD-200.

I really like the GBD 200. I got the purple 😁I've had mine for several months and have no need for the DWH5600. I don't think Casio is likely to release an MIP square with Tough Solar. The module requires a specific ratio of surface area to power output. The case of the square and GBD 200 doesn't provide enough space for the solar panels because the module is so big. I assume that's why the larger G Shock Move models have Tough Solar like the GBDH2000 but none of the small ones do. The same reason the H5600 needs external charging.

Don’t you have issues with the menu being a bit slow? It ways “please wait” a lot
They're solar but I don't think it's solar "enough" to actually keep the watch charged all the time. You have to charge it manually kind of like the solar versions of the Garmin smart watches.
I love the legibility of the MIP but I'm not too crazy about the bigger size over the 5600. Thumbs up for the review!

@@GD-hm6lm I have the GBD 200 and have been using it for almost a year.
Simply put, it's the best Casio watch I've owned and daily drive. The MIP display is just perfect, the vibration motor is very good and it covers the basic fitness tracking needs (tho I still want the DWH5600 because of the heart and oxygen sensors).
The calls feature is good, but the farther you are from your phone, the slower the notification. Since everything is Bluetooth connected, it all depends on how strong the connection is. Since I have my phone close to me for a good portion of the day, it helps me alot when I am working and I leave my phone in my room. Any calls I get, I get a near-instant watch notification/vibration.
Notifications, though... They're pretty useless imo. To reach them is a chore and you cannot filter out many unwanted/annoying notifications. I didn't buy it for notifications, though. but if you want a watch that sends legible and readable notifications, this aint it.
Still, I always recommend the GBD200. It's a beautiful and functional phone.
Going on Day Seven wearing the G-Shock DW-H5600-2, the blue one, and it is better than I expected. The MIP display is amazing indoors and outside. Battery life is down to 50% after one week. Thanks for the review. Your intro was a tad too long, I guess you're simply trying to create the mystery...

Had this before. Sold it just because of the lacking hourly chime. I know it’s petty but it felt boring without it. It felt like I didn’t have a digital casio on my wrist 😅
Since you mentioned about the hourly chime, I searched for any method to turn the sound on, but can't find any. Not missing it that much, but I think Casio should've kept that function. Anyways, thanks for watching 😎

Been wearing gw9400 range man for 7 years now solar powered no battery change no issues what so ever. I wanna get one n have been seeing this particular gshock u reviewing is having good reviews. Any other suggestions. I want a square gshock
Well, normally any DW5600 Square G-Shock is a good beater. But if you want solar; the G5600 is the way to go. As for the watch I reviewed here, the major USP is the MIP display. They look fantastic. It's just a shame they have yet to do a solar version of these. Anyways, thanks for watching 😎

Please, what kind of notification is when someone call you, is watch vibrating on your wrist? And, is show caller name or just number? Sorry for my bad english, i hope you understand what i mean.

I like low maintenance G-Shock watches. This isn't one of them!

Hello there. I have been wearing the watch the whole day in a water theme park, swimming in a pool and in the shower with no issues. I use the Casio Move app to connect to my android and my iPhone. Battery life is supposed to be 2 years. But it all depends on how much you use the features I guess. Thanks for watching 😎

Well, the auto light is available. But after a while it shuts itself. Maybe to save battery. Hopefully, Casio release this model with solar panels soon. That will definitely help with the auto light situation. Anyways, thanks for watching 😎

you're right - autolight exists, but on solar powered models it triggers only in the dark place (solar pannel used as light detector) and on this model it's triggers every time and drain battery very fast... @@NMwatch

Tbh pal you can hardly see the green on the watch the dark green lugs, buttons and one bit of green text is so dark it looks just like black the same as the watch to be fair.
My mistake bro. I thought it was the fluorescent yellow version. I nearly bought the same watch as yours 😅

You should buy older gdx-100 instead which has metal bezel
Also you can use watch without connecting to the phone from the watch settings menu which is activated by pressing top left button for a few seconds

No smartwatch has 20 days battery life, this GBD-200 can last more than 1 year with the very cheap and easy to change CR2032.
