I specifically wanted that cutout for the power supply. I have an Asus ROG Thor psu with the live wattage LCD and some rgb on it. It wasn't completely stupid.

isnt the screen on the wrong side? so you have to mount it with the fan up and suffocate the airflow since there is no perforation on the shroud?

      @azozfs5330 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

This is the only psu which makes use of that cutout, and only if you’re willing to install it with the fan facing up top and suffocate your psu

Hi, I know you mentioned not to get buthurt "but" I feel you are a little harsh about things. I have build a custom loop in this case with 2 x 360 rad and 2 x D5 pumps. Yes, it sometimes was tight but I had no real problems. I even left the sliding plastic things in place as well.
My build pics are here: m.imgur.com/a/hVZicUi
To be honest the part of your video about the side panels and cable management feel a bit like frustration. Off course it is your opinion but I dont feel the same way. at least the flaming could be less? Also you can just connect 4 pin pwm fans to the 3 pin connectors. This way you have a total of 8 pwm fans to connect.
One big thing I would complain about is the easy to snap clips on the back panels. I broke 2 with no force at all.
Another smaller complaint would be that it is marketed as a water cooling case but it can be a tight fit sometimes.
I do agree on lots of things you say, just not as harsh as you bring it.

Very nice build. I suppose rad thickness matters if you want to fit 2.
What's the thickness of your rads and would you change them if you had to build it again?
      Thanks!

Honestly i think that for this case it's better a 360top + 280front so you can pull some fresh air inside also by negative pressure of the top exhaust fan close to the front panel.

the thing about the fan headers is .. that you can plug in a 3 pin to a 4 pin, but since this is a small board that is only meant to distribute pwm signal to pwm fans , and dc control the 3pin fans with pwm signals, it would need much more circuit and chips to determine if you have a 3 or a 4 pin currently connected to those other 3 headers

Why all the complaints about weight? My finished build came in at around 60 pounds, certainly not difficult to carry.

  • @Tacet137

Well im not sure about this one, GGF managed to fit custom loop in it, while having 9 SSDs, while having those plastic covers, while having perfect cable managment... are they using magic or are you like 0 effort, 0 willingness to do some minor mods? Also if you are having problems with tubing try mouning GPUs vertically, should open some options

@@v.aesthetic3764 Nah I wouldnt say so, you have some nice builds, im not trying to hate or anything just feeling like you are ranting about how this case isnt something that it wasnt trying to be in the beginning more than actual "bad designs"

I get what you are saying but my point is that Phanteks is making it more difficult than most of the other manufacturers they are competing with.

The only internal upgrade was the removal of that dumb old radiator bracket from before. Which wasted like an inch of height. I totally agree with all the little plastic gimmicks. I feel like those are their justification for the price increase. The FD R6 feels so much more open for a nearly same-sized mid tower.

I know it might me a little late to get a response but seeing how you also have a be quiet 700 .... How are the idle water-cooled temps compared between the two. I ask cause I bought the 700 and the top and front panel restrictions with 2 360mm ek se rads 6 noctua ccp 2000rpm fans set to 50% at idle all cooling a single 2080 ti and monoblocked 2700x. My current idle temps with front panel on are 40°c and with front panel off 30°c. So I'm wondering if switching to the evolv x would help this higher then expected idles.

I have the Evolve X and my gf has the Corsair 570X, if you think the Evolve X is bad about cable management you have not tried the 570X :D, Evolve X is one of the best cases iv used with cable management, other points you had i agree at some point but i knew about them becouse i did order it. :)

Love the dual radiator setup. So clean. I have one question. How does your fan on the radiator flow? Is it from intake and top exhaust? Or both intake or both exhaust?

    • @v.aesthetic3764

Intake in the front, exhaust up top

Watching this video 3 years later and definitely believe most comments made on the video aren’t accurate. Yes the base fits the pump just perfectly, now if you want the tubes to go a certain Sao you will need a certain pump top or route the tube hot the hole like most people did if not just drill a hole like everyone else. Second the covers on the back make sense for people that don’t worry much about cable management, having a hinged cover allows you to push all cables back without having to push every single cable one by one. Third I am you are making these comment from previous experience with a Original evolve ATX as my self, having a hinged glass panel is the biggest selling point for the case, you mention that they are insanely heavy and no one has the space to open them… ok but for someone that regularly has to fix and maintain their system having to screw and unscrew 4 thumbscrews every time while holding a medium weight glass panel makes it a big issue so don’t see how having the weight hinged on the case could be a disadvantage. Fourth having a cut out on the case for the power supply don’t believe is something to point out either, even if you don’t intend to show your power supply, the option to skin it or even put an lcd screen is still there.
I’m terms of cable management I believe the cable cover are problem. They don’t necessarily play a big role the look really really good but no purpose. Like my self I’m thinking about attacking a reservoir and like yourself o think only solution is to remove them. I’m the end I don’t this case deserves that negative feedback as for the price compared to the original, while maintaining the same frame that everyone loves but with more features as it should.
Don’t mean to hate on anyone really enjoy your builds and you go really in debt of your mods and practices in comparison to bigger TH-camrs which allows people to put their ideas into practice while watching your videos.
Keep up the good work from 2022

hi. i am going to bild a pc in the evolv x case and i am thinking to use 2 360 radiators the one in the frond is going to be the xe360 ( 60mm thick) and the other one i am thinking of using the pe360 or the se360. i dont really know which one to use, if i use the pe 360 is it going to fit or i have to go with the se 360. what do you recommend. by the way i am going to use the LL120 fans of corsair, they are 26mm thick.

Can you please tell me how much the door needs to swing open for me to remove it off the hinge? I know 90 degrees would work but at that point im hitting a wall on one side and monitor on the other since my desk is only 48in wide. Im hoping it can be removed off the hinge at around 45 degrees. Thanks!

hey, will the ek d5 fit in the base department? planing to do that. i already ordered a 360 x flow for the top and a 280 x flow from alphacool for the front and planing to put the d5 in the base. not so shore anymore if that's going to work. thank you

It’s not impossible but it doesn’t go in easily. And even then, it gets pretty cramped. It’s a shame the basement couldn’t be just a bit taller. Even a half inch would make a difference

I feel like you have to make acrylic cover or the space next to the motherboard just looks bad and the cables routing is bad

  • @Chris623
    @Chris623 6 ปีที่แล้ว

i agree with with many points , because the space for the cables is so small that I almost couldn't close the covers. but in the end I think the case is very nice looking even if it's a little tight in there. www.dropbox.com/s/0k5pt4eaxqbnfa2/20181101_114826.jpg?dl=0

i own one and OMG i hate hate hate the plastic bs things that replace rubber grommets. they are ugly and impractical. how did they get onto a final product? do they not test these things?
also why the fuck is the back panel glass? why is this such a big thing in the case industry. i put a vinyl wrap on my back window to stop light shining through all the little holes and stuff.

@@dudanvictor4203 Fr lol, the "gimmicks" of this case are all things I would be using (excluding dual systems), If there is an issue with space for rads, get one thicc boi and one thinner boi. He is probably also terrible at cable management if he thinks that is not enough space. (and when he said to either make it have more space or move it more into the front area, I said to my self aloud "You cant fucking shift it because it needs that space for the dual fucking systems". The dude has nothing valid to say and honestly is missing out lol.
