The Pilot Saloon 42 is a beautiful boat for throwing parties at the marina but there are too many step-ups/step-downs between cabins for my taste. I'd be worried about twisting an ankle (or worse) in rough seas.
Yes those build nice, but chronically overpriced Boats imho. Plus even H-R screw-up cockpits, while having excellent Below Decks Accommodation. Others may like that layout, but I can't (so won't ) live with it. There is no such thing as a Perfect Boat, But quess which Boat Builders tick most of the reallynimportant boxes ? Yep, the Big Production Boat Builders. unpicked boxes are usually in the category of minor, less expensive stuff. e.g. 316 Stainless mast fittings and Cleats, anything else more major specify it with the Agent, e.g. the Anchor you want, all Chain Rode. Wiring, gear, etc, for a custom House Bank Battery install, Custom Rear Cockpit Arch and extra strong Bimini Frame, no Sails (unless cheap standard Suit as backup suit) get made to measure for your needs too. Get as much DC and AC wiring done by the builder too - the big ones usually exceed Marine Standards(they are a minimum), because they don't like getting Sued. I keep checking, but neither Moody nor Hanse so far, sadly make what I need. Right now, it's Jeanneaubin the lead from Dufour. New boat 2023bmodel Season approaches, so fingers crossed. I hardly agree with any of this, so many other yachts on the market that are way better positions for 500k+ Bavaria is garbage and produce lemons, if you were serious hour would of included a Hanse 588 at the very least, total Armature Hour
The new owners of Bavaria have really upped their game thankfully, bit still not building what I'm looking for with my next boat. Agreed though, Bavaria needed to up their game Badly. 👍
you didn't mention some very important information for me to consider one of these. I need to know the mast height and minimum draft as there are shallow waters and intercoastal bridges where i live. Not to mention the shallow waters of the Bahamas and other places. People that engineer these boats don't even think of these things and cut themselves out of sales.
Agreed. the need for shallow Draft and reasonable Mast height, has ruled out an incredible number of Sailboats for me. It's one of the big reasons I'm planning on a Shoal Draft Jeanneau sun odyssey 440, with a Draft of 5'2", and an ICW friendly mast height. Next closest is 5'5" or 5'8" keel version (but also with ICW friendly mast option) , depending which brochure you read. For long distance Cruising, you have to able to get into places, and know you will get out of them, even if you have to rotate the boat with the bow thruster to get out. I've seen video of that model handling 60 to 70 mph winds quite well, so that'll do me, plusvfitted out as I want for a heck of a lot less than the asking price of these. Plus I've been on friends Jeanneau and Dufour Boats (as good as each other tbh) for years, and both really Age well if looked after as well as all boats need to be maintained, so no worries. These are not really the Top 5 of the list, much better boats out there, also why talking about selling boats and then showing a boat that is discontinued? So it’s not for sale anymore (new).
Have you ever heard of hallberg-rassy? Swan? I think you need to do a better research and read some sailing magazines before you're next list. Bavaria in the same list as x-yacht are the ultimate proof of you not knowing what you are talking about. But I like the theme and everything looks and sounds very good so a thumb up for that, but please do some more research! 💙 🙂
@@HarbourMastersTV When I saw this Sirius design of yacht on youtube, I was blown away! Amazing that you can walk from the cockpit to salon, without descending awkward stairs. The build quality is off the charts. Seems like they have a lot of the benefits of a cat. Brilliant views! Who doesn't want that? Having checked online, I can only find one other similarly designed yacht, a Moody.
For some maybe yes, others, what you see (and what you pay for) is what you get. With our experience with many boat trade shows, often it's the creature comforts that drive the prices way higher than they should.

No mention of keel and rudder configuration on any of the boats. This is pertinent information and dictates what the yacht can be used for.

Nautor yachts are missing and a lot more they all cost easily more than 500000
Never heard all these boats except bavaria. Where was Amel boats? They are the best boats 🛥 around.
Amel is a French luxury yacht yard
Amel markets its boats as blue water cruisers. Very much not so. Med charter boats at best.
