Guys I want to clarify something. This is not the final configuration the new gun will be in, but the P320 is the basis for what the gun will be. I should have made that more clear in the video. The final gun will have a manual safety and an RMR cut, but this video gives you an idea. As more details become available we will pass it along on the channel. Stay tuned.
Don't forget about the loop for the safety visibility belt! On a serious note how can we get ahold of all the M9's that will be going on the market? lol
I saw the Sig X320 @ Shot Show, NICE! Of course they'd come out with a bad ass new version AFTER I get my P320! Oh well. Hey, didn't Glock already seal the deal for the contract or was that just for Navy SEALs?
betatalk357 Sig. The reason Sig won the contract wasn't necessarily because the 320 was the best pistol, but because they offered the guns, parts, magazines, ammunition, and suppressors (and probably more) all together in the contract in house. The Army couldn't pass up having a single manufacturer in a single contract taking care of literally everything.
The whole point of the modular hand gun system is not to swap out components and "customize". It's to have a hand gun that is extremely easy for the armorers to swap out and fix broken parts. Instead having a dicked up m9 frame that they either have "make" work or they have to destroy it and get a new one. Now with the new system they can swap out components that wear and brake, at relatively lower costs and energy expenditure.
I am a vet, yet you have given a very good review. This is coming from a Veteran of the 82nd Airborne Divison and when I was a E-4 I had the best Arms room in the entire Divison. I got out as a SSG with 10 years
I agree so much with a gun store that is pick and place build style, it would make so much money and sense. Both long guns and short guns as well as bows could be built to a person upon approval and payment.
I own a couple dozen handguns as well as this P320 and it's my favorite. Looks amazing, shoots so well, breaks down so easy, is a great suppressor host and has extreme modularity.
i have this in full size 9mm. It is my favorite as it shoots so well and accurate. I love everything about this gun and when I heard the news about it getting the contract, i wasnt surprised but I was really happy the army will love and enjoy this pistol as well.
$500 million on a pistol replacement. The military industrial complex sure knows how to get paid. Be honest with yourself, what % improvement is this over the M9 or any pistol within the US's inventory. Shame they cant spend the half billion on the veterans who need it. Just a thought
The M9 has been in use for over 30 years, guns have a limited service life if they are worn and shot a good deal. Yes you can replace parts and do repairs but at a certain point it makes more sense to buy new.
@@s00-x2h I am not in love with the gun they chose (Insuffecient testing, and other issues) but... The M9A3 fixed a lot of things, made the grip smaller, good. 17 rounds good. But the damn safety is still up on the slide. Civilians? You just put in the decock only conversion. Yes people learn to use it, but having your safety up on the slide is not something you find anywhere else in the modern pistol world. If they said "Let us make it decock" only, then i am aboard. But since they made Glock put a manual safety on their trial gun.. Yeah, not going to happen.
@@DillIshOn Yes i know, and you can buy a cheap kit and do it other m9s. But the army wanted a manual safety. They made Glock put one in, and SIG sells the m320 without a manual safety, but the trial gun had a manual safety.
I was halfway through my military career when we went from the S&W M-15 to the Beretta M-9. And my lack of enthusiasm for the M-9 remains today. This Sig is gonna be sweet!
This has been my EDC since the launch of the 320 9mm Compact. Thousands of rounds, use in action pistol no failure ever. Becomes extremely accurate when you work on trigger reset can shoot A rings all day in action pistol.
if combat troops, Special Forces, guards and second line troops as well as army, Navy aso all have the same gun then it has to be modular.otherwise the Special Forces will do whatever they want and next are the combat troops and in the end you have 5 different guns in Service with no matching parts and Training will be all over the place.
I'm a current active duty MP for the ARMY and IRAQ vet. I was psyched to learn that the ARMY adopted the SIG P320. It has a great trigger pull, very reliable and extremely ergonomic (points well). I currently own 4 GLOCK's all Gen 4: 17, 41, 19 and 43. I like how you do not have to be a engineer to detail strip a GLOCK, same with the SIG P320. I would not attempt to detail strip my P226 TACOPS or HK VP9 as easily. The day after the SIG contract was announced I went to the PX and picked up a compact 9mm P320 for $441, shot a little over 300 rounds out of it today #no complaints. I want to get a 357 SIG full size conversion kit for it as well as slap a pair of XS standard dots on the 9mm. Still not getting rid of my GLOCK's although the SIG is going to be one of my main carry (off duty CCW) guns. CONGRATS SIG AND LETS MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, SO SAY WE ALL.
Libtards R Cancer that would honestly be a super cool review. I think it would really show us whether or not silencerco can truly expand their business from just silencers to possibly becoming a big name brand for actual firearm production
I've been Army for over 23 years and trust me they will not allow you to choose between 9mm, 40 and 45. It would be a logistical nightmare and big money. Special ops will get the 45 and everyone else will get the 9. How about we take that money and teach our new generation of soldiers how to be men instead of PC police.
Agreed. Not that they dont have the money necessary to give any serviceman the option of whatever damn caliber they want haha, but itd just be a nightmare trying to coordinate so many ammo types to so many places at once
I prefer the M1911, not only because it was designed by John M Browning, but it was in service with the US Military for 75 years. The Force Recon element of the Marin Corps' Marine Expeditionary Units have been issued the M45 MEUSOG, which was previously called MEU(SOG) pistol, since 1985.
mcrock231 no, they should apply this concept to everything, just go a step further an have the aemories sticked with a wide variety of weapos for the soldiers to choose from, even uniforms, get rid of them, just give soldiers badges and let them wear the clothes they are most comfortable with.
John Browning's crowning achievement in the pistol realm was a wonder 9, which he said himself was better. MARSOC units overwhelmingly made the .45s safe queens and carried Glock 19s. They couldn't get rid of them fast enough, and they are already hitting the civilian market for sale. Now if you simply have some emotional and irrational connection to the .45, then by all means. But the rest of your argument is fanboy urban legend.
Now all they need are some Orange Front HD Sights, apex trigger, a trigger job including the trigger bar, housing, sear disconnector and other parts polished to a high reflective shine, extra 10 degree bend in the reset spring, gray guns guide rod with 15 pound 1911 spring for blazing fast 115 grain zingers, and cut the ambidextrous slide release off the side you grip high on. Good luck!
I like alot of pistols. And this is my opinion. Shooting the Sig compact side to side with the Glock 19 . . . I enjoy the P320 better. I liked it so much better than my 19 . . I bought it. My P320 compact as been flawless.
Former service pistol for the entire US military. Also available on the civilian market as the Beretta 92FS. Surplus M9s from foreign police forces have been available for a while and I'm sure ex-military examples will be available soon. They're a good, reliable, easy to maintain handgun for self-defense or home defense. They're pretty large for a 9mm though so I wouldn't conceal one. My Dad has a 92FS with a reworked trigger and I trained with the M9 in the Air Force, so I've seen both. If you get a surplus one, make sure it's in good shape, some military ones are pretty beat up.
I forgot the gun publication that I have (and read) Sig Sauer came out with a modular handgun years ago (at least 15 years by now) where you can change the actual receiver to three or four different frames, you could change the barrels around (from a .40 caliber to a .357, to a .45), etc. You could also change the backstraps as well for various sized hands, i.e. for a female who may have small petite hands up to a man who has large hands where a full frame would fit over the petite size components......
I was split between P320, CZ P09 and G34 for my next handgun, but this solves it all in favor of the P320. Just hope foliage green/dark earth frames will be readily available for civilians.
cool. i bought me one about a year ago and fell in love with it. i have sub comp, comp, full size and full size flat dark earth frames its fun looks good shoots great. cool to know the military is now using it.
It may be very modular and apparently what the military wanted, but it will never be as good looking as a M9 or M1911 to me. Those service pistols are just beautiful.
GunGuyTKD Amen to that. My dad and I were just talking about ugly the Sigs and Glocks were because of how they kind of look like a rectangle with a pistol grip.
new platform - new problems, learning pain and noobs misfiring... modular make more sense for civilian market - for Joe who like to play with grips and colors...
I certainly doubt your average joe is going to have a choice. The guys that get to choose probably can pick and entirely different gun if they want anyway.
Humman Off Road Adventures Modular meaning they can have parts commonality between the different configurations that the pistol would be used in. Kinda like how they use modular rifles (m4 and m110) rather than having a seperate handgun platform for people in different positions that can't be upgraded or modernized universally as easily
We already have a modular system called the M1911. I suppose it's hardly perfect, but once you understand what will and won't work with your frame, there's little reason to shell out 1500 bucks or whatever Sig charges for a piece of plastic. And for the grand and a half I spent, my M1911 is tailored for excessive use and made of over-kill alloys that will probably outlast me, let alone a piece of fucking polymer. I guess for all the tacti-dads out there, 'modular' is a selling point. For people that piece together their own guns, it's not.
I carry the p320 .45. although you can change the frame you cannot change calibration on the .45. it has something to do with the mag size. love mine. never leave home without it
I believe in a press release somewhere it said all of the pistols will be configurable to run with a suppressor. If that is the case it would make sense to go with the .45 because you could still have full power ammunition that is subsonic.
Great video!!! I own the Sig P320 full size and I bought in 2015. I took the Sig P320 full size to the outdoor shooting range and put 2500 various ammunition through this bad boy and never had any issues or malfunctions what so ever.
I'm shocked the P320 won. I had a Compact model and had problems with the "double click" trigger and also a failure to reset. If you google it, you'll see it's a common issue. We also have a local PD that adopted the gun, but quickly stopped using it due to issues.
yo my man somebody needs to teach you how to think the correct way you have to lose that piss poor attitude you got and you have to go with this attitude if it's not coming out of your pocket you don't give a damn
I doubt this will happen but it's worth a try could you please make a p250 video? I know the 320 has replaced it. Just there are no quality videos on the P250 on youtube, and I love mine even coming from a USP DA/SA trigger the DAO really wasn't that big of a deal. Worth asking love the channel!
Fried Chicken Now The FBI designed thief specs in order to get this but then Glock developed the 17M and 19M which met the specs for them at a way less cost so as far as I know its still between the Sig and the new Glock. Indianapolis police has some of the new Glock 17M on street for beta testing now
Rabbi Shekelstein Yet Max Michel just set a world speed record with a "high bore axis" P320 pistol showing that bore axis is subjective bullshit. www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2017/01/20/max-michel-sets-guinness-world-record-sig-sauer/
Scott7891 I find it uncomfortable and unnecessarily bulky. I don't see any reason a striker fire gun should have such a high up slide. Striker mechanisms aren't as tall as hammer mechanisms. What are they hiding in there...
im not sure if it has been said yet but for the civilian, according to the mfgr site the calibers are 9mm 357sig 40sw 45acp for all but the sub compact. the subcompact is only 9mm and 40sw at this time.
+Joey Sparetti 9mm does work. If the military could use JHP's it would be the ultimate service round(wildcat cartridges notwithstanding). .357 Sig is a spectacular cartridge, but weight and capacity are *critical.* The advantages it offers in energy and accuracy are lost to the increased weight, bulk, and lower capacity.
Tell you what, the .357 Sig has been proven to produce more one-shot stops than 9mm, .40, and .45; As well as proven penetration againt steel and glass. One shot is what most might get against their adversary.
This is true. With JHP's. Which our servicemen are not permitted to use. In an FMJ loading, a .357 Sig isn't going to convey any particular advantage over any other standard service-type pistol cartridge, outside of the increased kinetic energy. Which is moot, because projectiles are what stop attackers, not KE. In FMJ loadings, with higher muzzle velocities, a bullet has a greater chance of passing through the target and, due to the elasticity of human tissue, doing absolutely no damage to an assailant. If JHP's were permitted, I could see .357 Sig as an effective cartridge for a military sidearm, but the issues of weight, bulk, and reduced capacity still linger.
I just bought a P320 about a month ago.It really is a great firearm. The P250 that I had before had about the worst DAO trigger that could be imagined. It was about a 3/4" draw and you never could get used to it. Another nice feature is that, if you get it in .40 or .357 the magazines are the same. You can buy a conversion kit from one caliber to the other and not have to buy new mags. I sleep with this thing. Not for protection, but because I love it so much. ;-)
Morrigi192 never heard of a fire arm service life, not saying your wrong but a fire arm doesnt really have an expiration date. that being said, it is the u.s. military, and i could see then doing some shit like that. the surplus guns will probably go to some shit hole country...
+Daniel Rich You should read up on what happened to the military M1911s. By the 80's the servicemen were calling them rattletraps because you could shake the gun around and it would damn near fall apart. No new ones had been made since 1945, so they were old and becoming extremely worn out because of decades of rounds out through them. Everything mechanical has a service life, and everything can and WILL break.
I was actually there to help Sig when they tried to develop a new pistol that would be more powerful than my two fists. They failed miserably so I told them to sell the piece of shit to the US military.
As a proud owner of SIG P226 Black Water and SIG Master Race member, I fully support this. Berretta to SIG is quite the upgrade. Thank God they didn't go with those plastic cop guns. Suck it Glock!
Now now... Glock is okay... if you don't mind replacing the trigger, the sights, the grip, and polishing the shit out of the feed ramp before you shoot it. ;)
El Pingu If you want iit to be a BATTLE READY weapon straight out of the box, then you have to change them... I know A LOT of cops who own Blocks, and everyone of them has done that...
Great pistol, our department just transitioned to it. Only had one issue with an extractor spring, but that was only after that pistol had already run 30,000 rounds!
Got my 320 Carry in 40 and I love it! Only downside is my hands are fairly large and the way I position I thumb sometimes rests on the slide release so it wont lock back when empty. But that's my error.
That Sig P320 is a sweet mfer and the Sig SP2022 I have both! You have to own one or shoot one to realize it! The high bore axis doesn't bother me it shoots better than my glocks absolutely!
As an Armorer I can tell you how it will work. We probably won't see them in our Arms Rooms for another few years. They will slap stickers with serials onto them correlating to the chassis (So you don't need to disassemble the weapon everytime it's drawn to verify serials) similar to how they've been doing it with virtually every other weapon system that's kept in an Arms Room. Only difference is their is no factory serial on the frame. I can guarantee that you wouldn't be swapping frames and have yourself a freefire selection of modules to customize your own issued weapon. In the end, it all comes down to uniformity. While the Army may order additional modules for this weapon, only god knows if they would ever actually be used (Maybe by SF/Rangers). You wouldn't believe the amount of equipment that sits in an Arms Room unused from its initial manufacture date. Anyhow, If anybody gets to have any sort of free reign on customizing their own Sig it would be more senior ranking individuals. That is just always how it is.
after so much research i finally chose the p320 as my first pistol. that was a couple years ago...and ive owned three of them at this point. just a great reliable pistol and im glad its getting the attention it deserves. i only wish that the 45 was interchangeable with the other calibers' chassis.
Why would the army want a gun that can change calibers or be customized? Isn't the idea to have a standard? I wouldn't think that would be a selling point for them. Im kinda curious what the military version is actually gonna look like. At least there should be a bunch of surplus Berettas hitting the market soon.
I don't think they care much for the caliber conversions, but for example if the frame breaks you can get a cheap 40 dollar one (less for the military I bet) and it's good to go. If they allow soldiers to carry on base they can also easily be turned from a full size to a compact or even sub-compact. Also this is most likely what it would look like facebook.com/SIGSAUERInc/photos/pb.57629597602.-2207520000.1484986793./10154911256707603/?type=3&theater
I would assume cost had more to do with it than anything. Thats normally how it works with any government body. If you make anything for the army they always require a supply of replacement parts. Its figured into the service life. If a gun cost you 500 the army paid 1,500 for it. That price includes spare parts for the life of the gun. Even if they allow carry on base I doubt they want any one who isnt an MP using a duty gun. They may allow personal firearms, but that would likely be it. Idk it just seems odd to me still.
This could be a big mistake. I believe there is a design flaw in this weapon that few people seem to be aware of. I purchased a Sig P320 in September of 2016 and was told that it is perfectly alright to dry fire this gun as I do a lot of dry fire practice. When I dry fire I like to practice things that would be dangerous with live ammo, like shooting upward as if shooting at someone on a floor above you. About 30 days after purchasing it, I was dry firing in an upward direction and the striker spring broke. It was sent back to Sig. When I got the gun back I purchased snap caps to hopefully prevent this from happening again. It didn't work. Once again while dry firing in an upward position, using snap caps, the striker spring broke AGAIN. I would hate to think that our troops may loose their life if they have to shoot at someone above them. It's a shame because I really enjoyed shooting this gun as it is accurate and has a good trigger. But, I have completely lost faith in it. Now it just sits in the safe. I would sell it but I hate to unload a Lemon on someone else. I have a Gen-2 Glock, a Beretta 92fs, and a S&W-686 that I have been dry firing for over 20 years with no problems. It is my dry firing practice that enabled me to ascend to the classification of Distinguished Master in competition. I want no part of a gun that can't handle it. Our troops deserve better!
Sig under bid glock and the military didn't give time for Glock to change their design in order to comply with the handgun modular system. Sig won by default and cost.
I know because the US military needs guns that they drop and it shoots them or gets clogged with carbon from rounds and blows up in their hands it's sad when that p320 has less reliability than high point
I own the P320 45acp fullsize. When I first shot it at the range, I was amazed that the recoil was almost equivalent to shooting a 9 mm. Soft. I can only imagine what the recoil feels like on the P320-9. Excellent choice for the female personnel in our military.
As a military member, I love his optimism for how he thinks being issued a firearm should work. Also as a military member, I know that it will never work like that. The vast majority of us aren't special forces and the government wouldn't dare let us make decisions like that on our own. It should work like that though, I'm not saying it isn't a good idea.
Yeah different frame sizes etc will not be standard issue you’ll all get the 9mm version with the same frame and modular options, spec ops will probably be allowed some level of flexibility but for the standard soldier it would be way too hard to organise if everybody got different options (especially with ammo)
the beretta m9 is still a million times better than that sig and just because its made by sig dont mean shit.... new and futuristic looking dont mean a damn thing to real gun experts
If I have two AR15's sitting there complete, except one is minus a trigger group, would anyone consider it reasonable to constantly swap a drop in trigger pack back and forth between two rifles? Everyone would just get a second trigger and have 2 guns. I dont understand why this has any appeal to a civilian or the military. The trigger group can be dropped into a frame of a different size......... So I can spend money to buy %80 of another gun and not use it unless I render another gun totally useless? At what point does this make sense? Why would you want an expensive pile of parts that can't function? So is the military planning on buying a different holster and magazines for everyone that wishes to carry a compact? If not, there is no point. If they are, you are creating yet another pile of parts that can't be used and magazines that will be too short to fit into the frame of the guy next to you. That defeats the whole purpose of a service pistol. Call me what you will, but i can't see any logic behind this system. They didn't create a modular pistol. They duped you into buying another gun to put a trigger in, without the benefits of a second gun.
I don't think it's so much so that you can have two incomplete firearms as much as it is to easily repair/replace the frame IF the owner does something stupid. Sure, with this it does give you the ability to swap out calibers (keep in mind some people live in less-than-free states where that might be their only option) but I think generally the benefit of a system like this is to be able to replace the frame without too much trouble.
With different size frames will one magazine fit all of them. Glocks are made to use the magazine of the larger frame pistol in the smaller frames in the same caliber.
Possibly the most accurate and reliable hand gun ive ever owned im in love with this firearm I never want to wrap my booger hook around anything else ever again
Thank God I don't live in America. I'd be spending a lot of money on firearms... I'm not saying it's a bad thing, it's just one less hobby to drain my money. lol
The way I do it is, I scrape some crumbs off the 20 trillion dollar stock market, and then some of that trickles into my bomb shelter, guns, horses, etc. Multiply money and buy things that matter and you should be able to live very comfortably for life. (No, you don't need the Lambo; no you don't need the particle board house with the 50 rooms in it.)
P320 is more modular and easier to fix if you break it. If somehow you manage to break the frame of the glock it's going to cost you a pretty penny. The P320 will cost you 40 bucks.
Logan Wyatt idk I love my glock and have had zero issues since I've had it. I can't say anything tho since I've never owned or shot a sig but I 110% love my glock
also i heard that the last time the military did a test for the pistol test, that Glock didnt have the time to retool , nor did it want to , in order to make a totally diffrent gun. i also heard Sig beat out the Beretta, but Beretta was cheaper and Italy had offered somekind of Air base deal.
The P320 is the best handgun I have ever shot and owned, and YES i've shot plenty of Glocks, Kimbers, Colts, S&W, etc., can't touch my 320. Has the great added bonus of being completely modular. Planning on getting a subcompact 9mm kit for mine, currently in a Full Size .40
I'm talking about his spent brass casings. Start watching at about 6:40. You can CLEARLY see brass hitting his arm and going straight back towards his body. Pretty obvious who's comment is dumb!
That's interesting - I hadn't heard that. Maybe his doesn't have the new extractor? ...and just so everyone knows, I actually think the P320 is a nice design. I think other contenders would have been fine as well, but I have no problem with the Army choosing the Sig. After all, for most troops it's very much a secondary weapon. As such, the amount of money and time spent on the modular handgun competition was rather ridiculous.
The Glock didnt fail as someone said earlier, it didnt have the manual external safty that Sig was willing to put on the pistol. Glock offered the pistol in the form as G17 , and G19 with backstraps being " modular" , and i have actually heard mixed reviews on whether you can go up from 9mm to .40 or .357Sig with the swap of a barrel and magazine. Many of the Military's elite branches have adopted the Glock as an official sidearm. Special Forces, Rangers, Navy Seals, and some Marine Raider units as well.
On a serious note how can we get ahold of all the M9's that will be going on the market? lol
Iraqveteran8888 and I'm guessing that will make the gun probably around 750 dollars maybe
I saw the Sig X320 @ Shot Show, NICE! Of course they'd come out with a bad ass new version AFTER I get my P320! Oh well. Hey, didn't Glock already seal the deal for the contract or was that just for Navy SEALs?
Kustom Hooligans I hope glock didn't seal the deal same old gun but did they have the price of that sig x320
betatalk357 Sig.
Why not both?
That makes sense. Didn't quite understand why they wanted that myself.
I hope all those m9s get sold off cheap instead of destroyed
Reiky Foxxe likely will go sold. It’s a beautiful thing, the military surplus market
They’ll prolly keep them stored away in some warehouse I’ve heard the military still has m16s and garands kept away
Probably all go to Ukraine or Israel
Definitely my favorite SIG
What an improvement over our good ole' Beretta
More than an improvement it's completely a different sort of pistol.
I am a vet, yet you have given a very good review. This is coming from a Veteran of the 82nd Airborne Divison and when I was a E-4 I had the best Arms room in the entire Divison. I got out as a SSG with 10 years

mastocytoma1 I want gun stores to have the same configuration.
let me build my own gun from scratch by just taking part from a bin.
I agree so much with a gun store that is pick and place build style, it would make so much money and sense. Both long guns and short guns as well as bows could be built to a person upon approval and payment.
Complete with sneeze guard and tongs for putting the components and on your plate.
its gonna have to be USB and Wi-Fi compatible
Thanks for the video bud

Couldn't make my mind up on the P320 and the FN 509 so I bought both on 7.1.17 and loving both!!
I own a couple dozen handguns as well as this P320 and it's my favorite. Looks amazing, shoots so well, breaks down so easy, is a great suppressor host and has extreme modularity.
How did you get the thing to work with a suppressor?
i have this in full size 9mm.

Yes people learn to use it, but having your safety up on the slide is not something you find anywhere else in the modern pistol world.

@@anvior45 they sell a "G" model for the m9A3 which is a decocker

RIP Beretta😢
T.E. Lawrence I think the M9A3 should've been adopted.
joe Anderson Why?
I pick up my first Sig this weekend. I bought the P320 in 45 ACP. Also, the verison that I am getting is striker fired instead of hammer fired.
The P320 is always stikerfire, the P250 is hammer fired. Same gun otherwise.
I honestly don't think the military gives a shit about modularity. being able to customize doesn't seem like the military.
It's more about ease of part replacement and repair than customization.
Nah, its more about cost. Actually, it ALL about cost.
if combat troops, Special Forces, guards and second line troops as well as army, Navy aso all have the same gun then it has to be modular.otherwise the Special Forces will do whatever they want and next are the combat troops and in the end you have 5 different guns in Service with no matching parts and Training will be all over the place.
Mar Special forces can do whatever. They use their own guns.
Just bought one as my second handgun ever (turned 21 this year) and I love it. I shoot much better groupings with the P320 than my G17
You guys should try and get a hold of the silencerco Maxim9. That would be a crazy pistol to review
DJ Gruman I agree wholeheartedly.
Libtards R Cancer that would honestly be a super cool review. I think it would really show us whether or not silencerco can truly expand their business from just silencers to possibly becoming a big name brand for actual firearm production
DJ Gruman They might have to make a lot more suppressers soon ;)
Rusty Shackelford you know it ;)
it's a neat lil gun.
Wow. Right on brother!
mcrock231 no, they should apply this concept to everything, just go a step further an have the aemories sticked with a wide variety of weapos for the soldiers to choose from, even uniforms, get rid of them, just give soldiers badges and let them wear the clothes they are most comfortable with.
I own two The Full size and The Carry Model I also purchased the compact grip.
About time to get a cheap M9 :P
Former service pistol for the entire US military. Also available on the civilian market as the Beretta 92FS. Surplus M9s from foreign police forces have been available for a while and I'm sure ex-military examples will be available soon. They're a good, reliable, easy to maintain handgun for self-defense or home defense. They're pretty large for a 9mm though so I wouldn't conceal one. My Dad has a 92FS with a reworked trigger and I trained with the M9 in the Air Force, so I've seen both. If you get a surplus one, make sure it's in good shape, some military ones are pretty beat up.
This pistol rules. Just fired some rounds today with it for the first time. Love it!
When can I buy a surplussed M9?
Never. Thanks Bill Clinton.
kozzy18 stop
I heard that Beretta has an agreement with the military to not surplus them.
I know Senator John McCain had the military surplus 1911's destroyed. That's one that makes ya cry.
John Sparks No, he only introduced a bill to destroy the surplus 1911's. I doubt it will pass.
I bought my P320 about a year ago now. Absolutely amazing. Nothing but flawless performance. Especially for the price, its fantastic.
They already make those. Having a difficulty finding them? I know certain types (like small frames) fly off the shelves pretty fast.
This weapon system follows the QFR philosophy developed during WWII, perfectly.
just to clarify, and someone may have already, its been available as a .45. its just a larger frame kit. 9,40,.357sig all use same magwell.
cool. i bought me one about a year ago and fell in love with it. i have sub comp, comp, full size and full size flat dark earth frames its fun looks good shoots great. cool to know the military is now using it.
"Sauer" news for us glock fanboys
Bocephus Bocanegra IN GLOCK WE TRUST!
They just got the contract by the price guys and Boce don't be so damn stupid!
john, in what way does my comment signify that im stupid?
Bocephus Bocanegra Clever and correct.
I find it hard to believe the Sig was cheaper than the glock. The military Glocks are same price as blue label $399
It may be very modular and apparently what the military wanted, but it will never be as good looking as a M9 or M1911 to me. Those service pistols are just beautiful.
GunGuyTKD I agree with the 1911 but m9 is ugly
zeee kalouska to every man his own opinion, but I love the M9 style. It just looks like a powerful, get down to business handgun.
GunGuyTKD Amen to that. My dad and I were just talking about ugly the Sigs and Glocks were because of how they kind of look like a rectangle with a pistol grip.
The only issue is it's poor performance in combat. It's a good thing 1911's are beautiful though.
King Jon Starkgeryan do you even p226 bro?
new platform - new problems, learning pain and noobs misfiring... modular make more sense for civilian market - for Joe who like to play with grips and colors...
I certainly doubt your average joe is going to have a choice. The guys that get to choose probably can pick and entirely different gun if they want anyway.
More like unlearn- no safety, no hammer. And what problems?
Humman Off Road Adventures I owned one I hated it I think they need to find a hi-capacity 45
I carry the p320 .45. although you can change the frame you cannot change calibration on the .45. it has something to do with the mag size. love mine. never leave home without it
Trigger is excellent. Natural pointing and really accurate. Army well served with this unit.
With all the modularity options, the SIG P320 makes Glock look old fashioned.
The glock 22 can literally be set up to fire 9mm 357 and 40 as well.
Glock is old fashion
Because it is. 30 odd years now ...
Please let us know what caliber the army chooses as their default platform
Pretty sure they are sticking with 9mm. No telling how many millions of rounds of 9mm they have laying around.
Starcunt 9mm
Starcunt I heard they might change to a .45
I believe in a press release somewhere it said all of the pistols will be configurable to run with a suppressor. If that is the case it would make sense to go with the .45 because you could still have full power ammunition that is subsonic.
Great video!!!
I own the Sig P320 full size and I bought in 2015. I took the Sig P320 full size to the outdoor shooting range and put 2500 various ammunition through this bad boy and never had any issues or malfunctions what so ever.
cigarfeeler amen brother I got same one and I love it!
cigarfeeler I have two 320's, and I also haven't experienced a single failure...
I used to have one of these and got rid of it to fund another project, want to get another one. 45 acp compact
I'm shocked the P320 won. I had a Compact model and had problems with the "double click" trigger and also a failure to reset. If you google it, you'll see it's a common issue. We also have a local PD that adopted the gun, but quickly stopped using it due to issues.
That's alot of damn money for a sidearm that will virtually never actually be used by any soldier.
fungunsforu The 101st Airborne were the first soldiers given the weapon....
Cletus The Stud A "cheaper" option does NOT give equal performance, either! I guarantee it...
Military Police rely heavily on the sidearm, as do officers in many capacities.
I like the shirt 👍🏻
yo my man somebody needs to teach you how to think the correct way you have to lose that piss poor attitude you got and you have to go with this attitude if it's not coming out of your pocket you don't give a damn
Looks like a sweet gun. I'm a big fan of sig and H&K 👌👌
I bet you like the Koch.
I'll probably have to get one when I turn 21. They seem amazing for a striker-fired gun.
There is a 45 acp option currently available. it just does not interchange with the other calibers
Nice, thought the FBI was selecting this.
Fried Chicken Now The FBI designed thief specs in order to get this but then Glock developed the 17M and 19M which met the specs for them at a way less cost so as far as I know its still between the Sig and the new Glock. Indianapolis police has some of the new Glock 17M on street for beta testing now
Is the 17 M the one that the slides fell off while dry firing?
Michael StJohn yup
Fried Chicken Now June 30, 2016 FBI announced they're going back to glocks
Hunter Jordan FBI just gave glock a 85 million dollar contract.
*ARMY:* We're going with sig.
*GLOCK:*....... but why?
*ARMY:* Because FUCK GLOCK!!!.... that's why.
you can replace the frame but you can't replace that high bore axis...
Rabbi Shekelstein that's why I love my CZs
Rabbi Shekelstein Yet Max Michel just set a world speed record with a "high bore axis" P320 pistol showing that bore axis is subjective bullshit.
www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2017/01/20/max-michel-sets-guinness-world-record-sig-sauer/
Rabbi Shekelstein Yes you can. By replacing the SIG
Scott7891 I find it uncomfortable and unnecessarily bulky.
I don't see any reason a striker fire gun should have such a high up slide. Striker mechanisms aren't as tall as hammer mechanisms. What are they hiding in there...
Such a dumb complaint. High bore axis are the three dumbest words shooters can say.
im not sure if it has been said yet but for the civilian, according to the mfgr site the calibers are 9mm 357sig 40sw 45acp for all but the sub compact. the subcompact is only 9mm and 40sw at this time.
So long as maximum concealment factor isn't your #1 priority, the Sig P320 has minimal competition for the title of "Best Striker Fired Pistol."
.357 sig could be an awesome military round. plus it'd make it cheaper for me :)
Perhaps, but 9mm is NATO standard.
+Morrigi192
Fuck standard,
use what works.
Tell you what, the .357 Sig has been proven to produce more one-shot stops than 9mm, .40, and .45;
As well as proven penetration againt steel and glass.
Looking forward to a new era of cheaper Sigs.
Hey, can you please do reviews on HK416 & HK417. Btw, love your videos :D
Not for protection, but because I love it so much. ;-)
Thats nice shooting and i got the P220 .45 for many years and very happy with it and i just added a threaded barrel and waiting for the suppressor
Soooo.... cheap milsurp Berettas around the corner?
Doubt it, the frames are at the end of their service life. It would be irresponsible to release them to the civilian market.
Sir is p320 an American gun or german
Sir is p320 an American gun or german
As a proud owner of SIG P226 Black Water and SIG Master Race member, I fully support this. Berretta to SIG is quite the upgrade. Thank God they didn't go with those plastic cop guns.
Suck it Glock!
Now now... Glock is okay... if you don't mind replacing the trigger, the sights, the grip, and polishing the shit out of the feed ramp before you shoot it. ;)
Corpsealot Ha!
Corpsealot you literally do not have to any of those things. I didnt and love my pistol. Sig is overppriced crap
Corpsealot Glock Perfection, right?
El Pingu If you want iit to be a BATTLE READY weapon straight out of the box, then you have to change them... I know A LOT of cops who own Blocks, and everyone of them has done that...
Great pistol, our department just transitioned to it. Only had one issue with an extractor spring, but that was only after that pistol had already run 30,000 rounds!
Got my 320 Carry in 40 and I love it!
Only downside is my hands are fairly large and the way I position I thumb sometimes rests on the slide release so it wont lock back when empty. But that's my error.
fantastic pistol love mine
I thought glock was going get the contract
The new official pistol of the FBI is the Glock 19....
2 words : grip angle
dandhan87 They got the contract for Marsoc.
The only people who don't love the P320, are the people who don't have one.
I don't have or want one. I'll stick with my Walther PPQ.
Victor Joel Great gun. I really want one with the 5 inch barrel and ported slide.
That Sig P320 is a sweet mfer and the Sig SP2022 I have both! You have to own one or shoot one to realize it! The high bore axis doesn't bother me it shoots better than my glocks absolutely!
The only people who dont like Krabby Patties...NEVER TASTED ONE!
The first time I held one I fell in love, then my friend sold me one for 240$ lol boy am I lucky. Lol
Yeah you aint picking or changing shit private.
The Ranting Hick The army wants it to be multi caliber to fit the mission.
the Army will never allow soldiers to carry on post, unless you are an MP
apparently you can now. www.al.com/news/index.ssf/2016/11/us_soldiers_now_allowed_to_con.html
Great pistol but wish they could find an American made pistol worthy enough.
tccoup355 The Sig P320 is entirely made in New Hampshire.
You're in luck then, this gun is foreign in name alone.
It's made in the US!
tccoup355 it's 100% made in America
mags are made in Italy tho. Just bought a couple. 40 bucks each.
Our troops deserve better!
there are gonna be a TON of variants with the p320. With its modular system. And so many being made for the u.s. military.
i think im sold lol picking one of these up
Glad they went with Sig instead of Glock.
I hate you
Sig under bid glock and the military didn't give time for Glock to change their design in order to comply with the handgun modular system. Sig won by default and cost.
xion 1212 Shut your flower crown wearin ass up.
I know because the US military needs guns that they drop and it shoots them or gets clogged with carbon from rounds and blows up in their hands it's sad when that p320 has less reliability than high point
Very nice pistol !! Moreover they're available here in France :-)
Nooooooo! I want my doughboys packing 1911s..... (still way cool though)
The Marine Corps bought 12,000 Colt 1911 45's.
TexanUSMC8089 1911 is junk
You do realize that this deal was done long before Trump came in right? LOL.
45ACP Becouse shooting twice is just silly. Springfield and Colt for me. USA1.
Keksimus maksimus Nice reply. Shows you IQ.
Keksimus maksimus again. Shows IQ. And why be such a doosh bag. No one talked shit to you. Grow the fuck up
I like the P320 it was a good choice.
Yeah different frame sizes etc will not be standard issue you’ll all get the 9mm version with the same frame and modular options, spec ops will probably be allowed some level of flexibility but for the standard soldier it would be way too hard to organise if everybody got different options (especially with ammo)
Great breakdown and review... i wasn't aware of how easy it was to break down. Thanks for sharing.
all the Glock fanboys are feeling butthurt now.
Bjorn Ironsides SIG is an American company in everything except name.
they should of went with the Glock! thats coming from someone that dont care for Glocks!
says who??? fuck that bullshit
i HATE glocks but they should of went with the glock and not that big piece of fucking garbage if that tells you anything
the beretta m9 is still a million times better than that sig and just because its made by sig dont mean shit.... new and futuristic looking dont mean a damn thing to real gun experts
The P320 is trying to be a jack of all trade and master of none. Did you get a lot of burns from the empty brass flying right into your face?
alan mail yet they got the contract lol
McCollOG because glocks dont work well with safteys.
Seriously, what the fuck was with that ejection?
With different size frames will one magazine fit all of them. Glocks are made to use the magazine of the larger frame pistol in the smaller frames in the same caliber.
Possibly the most accurate and reliable hand gun ive ever owned im in love with this firearm I never want to wrap my booger hook around anything else ever again
Thank God I don't live in America. I'd be spending a lot of money on firearms... I'm not saying it's a bad thing, it's just one less hobby to drain my money. lol
PT111111 Same here. Haha
Yeah man I get what you're saying. I don't drink or smoke so all my would be drinking moniez is now firearm moniez :)
I do swing and day trading on volatile stocks.
Take a serious look at the 9mm Walther PPQ-M2 !!!
I own two of them !! With Talon rubber grips and the small Backstrap !!!
PERFECTION !!!
Gerry K that's my carry gun lol
Rule #1 in military contracts: Must be made in USA
Though I agree. I love my PPQ M1
I prefer this over a Glock 17, i just wonder why they didnt go with it.
Logan Wyatt The price my friend!
John Valdez yet when everyone says police only use glock cuz theyre cheap, youll say "duh, no, thats not it, its cuz theyre super-awesome"!
Had to be modular and I believe picatinny rail was a big factor.
also i heard that the last time the military did a test for the pistol test, that Glock didnt have the time to retool , nor did it want to , in order to make a totally diffrent gun.
i also heard Sig beat out the Beretta, but Beretta was cheaper and Italy had offered somekind of Air base deal.
The Beretta is a better pistol.
Lots of brass being kicked right back at you.
David Giles do you not see how his steel is angled? Lol this comment is pretty dumb
I'm talking about his spent brass casings. Start watching at about 6:40. You can CLEARLY see brass hitting his arm and going straight back towards his body. Pretty obvious who's comment is dumb!
David Giles I'm pretty sure the p320 was recalled for the extractor specifically earlier this year.
If you are a lefty you are going to get a face full of brass!
I wanted the Glock 19x to win
Mad Cow Rebel I hate than gun
Waiting to see if Sig can figure out how to make X change kits for .45 ACP before putting down cash for a P320. I don't do .40 or .357 Sig.
Glock guys get hurt and try to justify the extra $300 they paid for a gun that has less features. I would rightly compare them to iPhone users
