I'm literally shaving right now to get ready for my first day of a new job. Happened to look at my phone and see this uploaded. The timing has never been more perfect ❤
As a 20 year old soon too be 21, I’m so grateful to have found you channel. There’s been so much growth and learning on my journey simply by listening to you and really taking charge of my life, you have taught me that I’m worth the change no matter how young or how minor my trauma is it’s always worth healing. Thank you!💕
Yes! I have a very annoying habit of dismissing my own good work, especially at my job, but at home also. But, I am learning how to be receptive with grace. When I stop to look in the basement, I realize that I was messed with a lot about any and everything that I did as a kid, by my sisters, by my mom, but mostly my dad. I really hate the freakin basement but I know it's where my solutions lie and knowing now what you've taught me, (and Mark G and Lisa B) I know how to learn from it. Terri, I am so thankful for you, and am anticipating your next video. ❤
This is so true. I have recently been given larger responsibilities at my new job, and even though I know I am capable of handling these responsibilities, I do feel very anxious. One thing that is helping me is asking for help from my seniors and engaging in self soothing activities to keep a level head. I agree about the brag list, we are allowed to be proud of what we have achieved to give ourselves the morale boost. Thanks for another wonderful episode Terri 🙏🏼 always appreciate your words of wisdom 🤗
I too resist receiving compliments and it probably affected my close relationships. I plan to be more open and can hardly wait to see where this leads. The advice seems like an ace I can keep, so thank you very much.
Terri I just to thank you ! I have listened to your channel for a few years now and you have given me the tools and confidence I need to help with this imposter syndrome and setting boundaries. Having my own small home business it does rear its ugly head sometimes! But I can put a lid on it so much better than I ever could 😊
I learned to accept compliments and it feels great. (I remember well how it was in the past). So this is something to put on the brag list :-) - that is still waiting to do for me. I still feel sometimes some inner resistance and doubts, like something wants to hold me back, when things are going well. But I am more and more aware of it, so I can handle it better and not being driven and hold back - not too much, more and more less… Thanks Terry for your openness and sharing!
I am starting a new job December 1st and I’m starting to get symptoms of imposter syndrome. «Here we go again, right? I start to think that the reason they hired me in the first place was because all of the other candidates said «no» so they were «forced» to give me a job offer... Actually Writing it makes me feel stupid for thinking that way, But I can’t help it! I will try and make a list of my positive sides that I can bring to this new job. Sometimes I forget my good qualities and focus only on the negative ones, just needed a reminder! Thanks for this episode, the topic is a great one!

Another great episode! I know I have great accomplishments but l still feel it is not enough or I am not enough. I think it is all sel esteem and learning to love myself and believe in who I am. I am fabulous! I am making a list, now - - I think my feeling less than has to do with not being successful in a relationship - in any romantic relationship. I had a few fun ones but they always end in heartbreak. I am finally learning to say thenk you for compliments. I am also learning to hold onto the good memories even if the romantic relationship ended. New way of viewing my life
Hi Terri, I’m struggling with a friendship that I feel is too much work. We are “long time” friends and I feel we are at different chapters in life. I care so much for her and love her as a person so I find it hard to step back in our friendship. She’s a “LOUD” friend and I’m super HSP. I appreciate your videos and advice xxxx thank you for all your videos.
I see you, Amber ❤️ We can love and care about people from a distance to protect ourselves. If her being loud is the main issue, it also could help to think about what boundaries might be helpful to set. Could you talk more via text, for example? But if you're in different chapters, it might be time to honor that.
I semi retired years ago and yet am still working. I just don’t say no when there is a dire need as I’m. Speech-Language Pathologist and it’s an area where there is a critical shortage across the country. It a little scary to start with a new group of teachers, community agencies. And have people comment that they’ve heard about my skills and can’t wait to work with me. The older I get the more I feel that maybe I am an imposter because I don’t see myself as others do. I do try to work on that because I’m very aware of when I’m feeling that way. It’s difficult to work through!
Thank you for this video! I literally have a job interview tomorrow morning, and i'm scared i'll be found out as a hack. I really want this job, so i'm starting to get nervous. Let's hope it goes well. 🤞 Also, on a complete side note... You look quite a bit like the actress 'Kristin Kreuk' in my opinion. Not sure if you've heard that before.
Thank you for discussing this! I’m a grad student (masters in counseling). I am struggling with imposter syndrome currently and loved seeing even someone as accomplished as you’re in the counseling/therapy world has struggled as well. Thank you🤍

@terri_cole thanks to you and a select few, I have the COURAGE to face my demons to which I'd run from in the past. ❤️

Not imposter syndrome exactly, Terry. I do feel sometimes that I'm not enough/good enough though.
