If I have calculated myself correctly, I have around 40 or more moles on my body :) but out of those moles only two of them are raised (which I've had since my childhood), and the rest are really small and flat.
When I was about 3 yrsd(female) I used to have a mole on my inner thigh that had started about the size of a dime but it grew very quickly and developed this sort of clear halo around it, and basically checked off all the ABCDE rules. When we went back to the doctor they had told my parents that I had a condition that they called "spitz nevus" or "juvenile melanoma" at the time, and needed to be removed because it had "malignant potential". I went into surgery and they were able to take it out fine but I've still got some decent sized stiches in my thigh now due to the skin growing over and around it. My doctors have always said it was crazy rare that it happened to me so young. But it's always cool for me to see videos like this that dive into a bit of what had happened.

I've always been praised for my perfect complexion, even in highschool I didn't get zits, and if I did it'd be one big one that'd be gone in a day or two. Otherwise, not a single freckle on me. Other than one big, fat mole on my back above my ass. Things so huge, it's the size of a quarter. Its like my entire body put every blemish into that one spot. People would see me at the beach and say "hey bro did you shit your pants?" No, it's a giant mole that's permanently fused to my otherwise perfect body. I'm not so upset about it though, I'm blessed for what I got as it is.

It's extremely rare that a melanoma develops from an already existing mole. Most of the time they grow from nothing.
That's true. Melanomas can look like little brown smudges which makes it hard to notice yourself
Perhaps let's say it the other way round: Melanomes can hide amongst those moles. It's not easy to find a melanome when you have many moles.
