This draft is looking better than a lot of people were giving it credit for. Lots of talent
Everyone downplays a draft when there is no generational talent
This draft is very top heavy… First round is stacked, Second Round is great, 3rd round onwards is not so great… 2023 draft was stacked from the first to the 7th round… I think this 2024 draft will have a lot of NHL players on the first and second rounds but that’s about it for me at least…
A substantial set of fans claim every single draft has lots of talent. When in reality, NHL drafts must be relative in strength to other drafts. This one is ordinary at best and significantly weaker than last year.
@@tylerlussier1896stacked from 1st to 7th is the most hilarious thing I’ve read. Please tell me, what is your definition of “stacked”?!
He's 17 not 18.... That's a big year of development.
Reminds me A LOT of Nick Suzuki when he was in his draft year. Same type of player with the same exact strengths and weaknesses.
Great hands, tremendous edge work, wonderful hockey sense,
splendid compete level.
There were rumors Habs might take him and at first I was worried about that because if the other big name forwards aren't available I'd rather a dman because you can trade that dman for a very good forward but then watching Iginla play I know it's 1 video but he looks like the type of player who can just work hard and keep the puck in the other end and he seems like that player you would want in the play offs! If they got him I can see slaf, reinbacher and Iginla being very hard workers in the playoffs! Making bigger differences than wright, cooley or even michkov when it comes down to playoff hockey. Those types of players could win you cups rather than having skilled small forwards racking up pts but being invisible in a long playoff run
Habs fans all the same😂🤦♂️
True! and me to l hope Habs will pick this GEM. Sooo strong with the puck ; in my book he has equal talent than Demidov. Think also that Hugues/Gorton even if Demidov still availlable, they'll choose Iginla because he's probably NHL ready before Demidov, still(Demidov) has maybe two years before reaching the NHL. It doesn't look either very promising that the war will end soon and looks like its gonna be worst and worst than thought. Other good reason to beleive they'll pick him: Habs are absolutaly in love with Iginla strong style of play. Sacha Boisvert for the second first round pick would be unbelievable for the Habs near future.
so how do we feel about UHC picking tij up? is a brand new club the best place for someone as young as tij? I'm optimistic
This Kid is definitly a top 15 lock and to me he's definitly a top 10 pick I'm high on him
Looking good...even into playoffs. His stock has been rising all season long!
@@nhldraftpros for sure !
With his playoffs stats right now, we're talking of top 5 potential
@@maxpatenaude2115 agreed... he's just INSANE
I'd definitely take a chance on him knowing he's an Iginla.
Welcome to mtl!
2:57 legit one of the most ridiculous shots I've seen at any level, absolute beauty.
Tbh, I like this draft better than last year’s draft class for some reason.
I’d say last years was quite a bit better.
Bedard, Carlsson, Fantilli, Smith are all projected to be 1st line Centers.
Bedard and Michkov could be generational players.
I’d take this year for defensman but overall the talent was far deeper and higher last year.
Tij Iginla is on my radar and I hope he'll be seriously considered by Bobrov & Lapointe. Demidov and Lindstrom won't be available at Montreal's position 5, 6 or 7.
One of the youngest player of the draft, and with his playoffs stats right now, he might make it to the top 5 overall at the draft. I wouldn't be surprised if the Habs take him at 5th overall
He's gonna go high!
Would Love to See the Flyers draft him. They need a goal scorer like him. Would like to see him and Tippet flying down the Ice together. Michkov too!
habs hall of famer
“Flames”
@@cartermiedema9114 he wont drop that far
Him or Eiserman will be a habs
I wonder if he still is growing given his age. About as tall as his dad as of now. Really enticing prospect. Habs at around the 7th spot will surely be interested.
He will look perfect in a habs jersey
Hell nah a FLAMES JERSEY
@@CGYBLACKBEAR sober up , his poor father already had to dwell a shames jersey ffs , dont wish such a disgraceful thing apon his son to. What is this, a generational curse ?
nah i want cayden lindstorm flames can have him if hes falling or not
5:23 this is something Quinn Hughes does to people.
No way he gets past Calgary, and he should probably go earlier, unfortunately.
The 2022-23 stats are wrong, those are Cayden Lindstrom stats.
Calling it right now he will go to MTL 5th overall
To be a good passer you need to have a dangerous shot. The reason is that when the opposite team is scared of your shot, it will create openings for other teammates. I want this guy on my team.
YES!!!
As A Montreal Canadien?
This kid is something
Looks like he’s trending towards top 10
Yup!
My Wings could definitely use this youngster 👍
He's going top 6 I think
Could very well go top 6...especially after his playoff performance so far.
His dad was a beast in hockey. Hopefully calgary can draft him. I doubt he will outclass his dad. His dad is a legend at the saddledome.
Would be amazing to see him get called by the Flames!
I know it's probably gonna be 100% wrong but if I had to guess the draft order rn It'd be (1-10)
Sharks: Macklin Celebrini
Blachawks: Ivan Demidov
Ducks: Artyom Levshunov
Jackets: Cayden Lindstrom
Coyotes: Sam Dickinson
Canadiens: Berkley Catton
Senators: Zayne Parekh
Flames: Tij Iginla (dude the storylines if he went there would go HARD)
Kraken: Cole Eiserman (I know he goes over Tij but the storylines like I said would be amazing)
Devils: Anton Silayev
That would be pretty great for Calgary to get TIJ!
We all know the Blackhawks will end up with Celebrini
@@Hopper830for sure
sens will grab tij
@@curefied Parekh would be SO much better for them... They would love and kinda need a good offensive partner for Sandy.
His young age also plays in his favor to go top 10.
He's 7 to 8 months younger than a Berkly Catton or a Liam Greentree, 10 months younger than a Brandsegg-Nygaard. At that age it can mean such a difference.
(Same goes for Eiserman, also on the younger side, but i guess what he has to work on is inducing more NHL-projection doubts to team scouts)
I really wanna see him go to the flames
Would be the best!
gonna be a great devil @10 if we don't move the pick
can you do eiserman next pls
He's coming soon! Going to watch him on Saturday live, then will drop a video on Wednesday/Thursday most likely.
I believe this guy is 8months younger than Celebrini
As a diehard Canucks fan I just wanna say I would love to see Tij and Joe both go to Calgary and make them competitive again. I could see Calgary getting Tij this year. Also,Flames blow !!!
Would be amazing!!!
Who’s next
Carter Yakemchuk!
If it were up to me id take this kid hes got better numbers than his dad did at 17 similar but better
If the sharks got celebrini at 1 and iginla at 11 that’s be so sick
Would be great!
Iginla won’t be there at 11 I don’t think
Some people are starting to rank em ahead of catton you agreeing with this?
Not sure....Catton more of a playmaker and Iginla more of a shooter. Depends on what a team wants. I'm higher on Catton.
I would. He’s going to be a more effective player when games get tough.
@@HabsTypeBeat yeah but tij has good line mates. Where as catton doesn’t have much to work with.
@@cameronmckenzie7304 Who cares. He’s driving his line.
@@HabsTypeBeat andrew Cristall is driving the line while tij is a passenger. Mean while drives his lines having the most points on his team.
Please Flames do the right thing and draft this man.
If the Habs don’t beat them to it (I think they will)
Sorry Calgary !
Forget Iginla this year: Habs will steal the son of your legend in Calgary.
Could be much even worst for you next year; a real possibility to see the Flames finish at the bottom and surprise, surprise! who's got your first round pick in 2025??? Insane!!!!
@@aimanliser58 Lol
@@aimanliser58nuh uh dont need him we got demidov but utah took him instead
Want him in NJ next to Bratt/Jack
Would be a nice fit!
How many top 6 forwards does jersey need to do anything, you bums already have holtz on the 4th line and mercer on the 3rd and u still cant win
His younger Brother joe looks to be a higher pick then Tij
Joe is gonna be good!
mtl
He's only that high bc of dad, bad choice..
Pat verbeek should trade zegras to MTL to draft iginla 5th and silayev 3rd! go ducks!
Does he have his dads cheapshot, whiney abilites...?! 😅
Don't think so...lol!
