Thoughts on Carter Yakemchuk 2024 NHL Draft prospect after watching this video! Where does he rank among the Defenseman in this draft class? #nhldraftpros
As you said, a big right hand shot defenseman are definitely at the top of most NHL lists. He's got some great smarts, puck control, skates decently and has the boomer shot. I think he goes in the top 10. Looks like this is going to be a pretty good draft.
Another very informative video! Thank you. This young man has improved his defensive play throughout the season. He has all the offensive skills to make an impact in the NHL.
So rare to see a defenseman at that size have those types of hands. He has some things in his game that he has to clean up, but RHD with that size and skill don't grow on trees. Great video!
just a heads up his pims are in fact disproportionately from fighting - 5 fighting majors and 4 10-minute misconducts makes up 65 of those 120 pims (assuming the misconducts generally game as a result of fighting)
And a replacement for Carlson is without question Washington's biggest need when it comes to the prospect pipeline. I expect they'll try to move up from 17 to get him or another RHD because even if they need a bit of work, there just isn't a future 1D in the organization right now. The only other move that makes sense for them is if they can get Cole Eiserman obviously a goal scoring LW is another top need for the prospect pool.
Do you do mock Drafts? If not after draft lottery you should! Would love to hear your thoughts on where you think players could end up depending on teams needs etc
He looks so tall out there I know he’s listed at 6’3” but when he stands up straight he’s a solid head and shoulders taller than everyone looks like he’s 6’6” against these guys😂😂
Went and watched him in Saskatoon. He’s a chippy guy after the whistle. Wouldn’t mind him as a late first pick but not as high as he is ranked. Nice video!! my suggestion is still Sasha Boisvert or one of the USHL guys. Not sure how accessible the tape is for them guys
@@nhldraftpros How did you get access to Instat. I'm kind of trying but there's no clear way to subscribe or anything. Is it a professionnal account that you have on the platform ?
If Winnipeg is out round 1 and yakemchuk is available mtl needs to get him. Yes you dont more dmen but he has top line potential! He'd have the most value and can fetch you a top forward prospect eventually! Would be way more value than drafting another forward.
If he becomes a 2, he'll be great with sanderson, if hes a 3, we'll have to find him a shutdown D to pair with. Looking forward to seeing his development and eventually wear the red black and white
I’d love this guy in Ottawa. I just don’t think you take him at 7. And there’s absolutely no way he’s still available at 25 when The Sens make their next pick. But who knows. Maybe we trade up from 25. Or even down from 7.
How? They have logan mailoux and reinbacher. You want another guy with top line potential? The only way they should take another D is if Winnipeg is out round 1 and yakemchkuk is available at that pick then I pick him and possibly move him in the future for a high end forward. That would be big value. With all the LD they have guhle can also play on the right too.
Me too! Yakemchuk for Habs. I’m not impressed with this draft anyways. Lindstrom is KK 2.0 , Eiserman’s work ethic will take years to develop, Iginla has the physique of Jake Evans! lol Yakemchuk is the wingman for Lane Hutson. Guehle/Reinbacher and Mailloux/Strubble
My question is... why isn't he a forward? He seems well built to be a good two way/power forward. His defense is not exceptional... has a reckless, low accountability style of defense that coaches aren't going to be a big fan of and he's going to be a WIP for like four years So either he's going to have to get his presence up on the ice, or convert to a winger... to me, he should just become a winger
I was thinking the same thing watching this highlight package. If it doesn’t work out on the back end for this guy, I’d like to see what he could do up front. He’s got great hands, good speed, good vision and that size and reach would be extremely hard to contain for defensemen. He could still man up the point on the PP with that bomb, or play the one timer off the sidewall like Ovechkin does. This kid is a bit raw, but if he gets developed and coached properly, we’ll be talking a lot about him in 5 years. He does have all the tools and ingredients to develop a fantastic defensive game, so it’s not like the potential for that isn’t there or highly unlikely compared to a guy like Parekh for example.
Ugh as a flyers fan I don’t want this guy. Too big and too slow. Over the years we had too many of these guys. He would probably be great on the power play for that hard shot which is what the flyers need. But when it’s 5-5 he seems slow.

I would be shocked if he made it out of the top 10
We got him

I want the Sens to take him at 7. He's exactly what we need
You got your wish lol
Go sens go baby

Congrats buddy you called it!

Him and Parekh both seemed to get better defensively this season...will be interesting to see where they land come draft day. Thanks for watching!

For sure! He's been climbing the rankings too!
Looks like a future Philadelphia Flyer to me 🟠⚫️🟠⚫️
Carter Yakemchuk, YOU are an Ottawa Senator!!
Yeah can definitely see them go for him or Zayne Parekh. they don't really have the top RHD in the system at all..
Yakemchuk would be wicked I can’t wait for the Sens to somehow fumble this pick for us
He's overall better than Parekh. And we'll likely screw this up
Nice
bro had the script
Nice scouting report. I'm pumped to see this guy move up the ranks on my Sens
Great pick!
А он хорош!
На этом драфте немало толковых защитников будет
Thanks for the report!

Love the videos always great insight
Thanks for watching! Cheers!
I see shades of John Carlson in his game

Reminds me of sergachev but with a better shot, seems underrated to me.
Hoping he's there at 11 for Buffalo. They need so much help with RHD in their prospect pool.
Sabres n Flyers gonna trade
Konecny and 32 to Buff
#11 and 25 4th/26 5th to Phi
Reminds me somewhat of Brian Campbell.
Need this kid on the Wild , we deploy our D like forwards he’d fit in perfectly
He looks so tall out there I know he’s listed at 6’3” but when he stands up straight he’s a solid head and shoulders taller than everyone looks like he’s 6’6” against these guys😂😂
You're right...he does look a lot taller than the other players! LOL

Boisvert is on the list...he'll be out in 2 weeks-ish!
Hello really nice to learn about those prospects. Which plateform are you using to getr access to those videos of their game ?
Instat.

mac swanson and noel fransen would be interesting stupidly underrated prospects
Him and korchinski paired together in a few years 🤌🏻
Kinda reminds me of Korchinski

No chance Chicago picks him that high

Lol good luck with him being available
Exited to see him in Ottawa walking carter 🔴⚫️🔴⚫️🔴⚫️

He reminds me if Tage Thompson played D
How does he project to compare to a current established NHLer?
Kind of seems like Rasmus Andersson in Calgary
Kinda reminds me of Kevin Korchinski in Chicago...I did a video on him a couple of years ago.
Dougie Hamiton 2.0?
This kid looks LEGIT
Pretty solid offensively!

@@DizzyDez613 Or just take him at 7! Nice call!
Dude… it’s Brent Burns!
LOL...just needs a crazy beard!
he's got some Logan Mailloux in him
Who’s next
Cayden Lindstrom!!!
He's basically logan mailloux
Wouldn't really say that he might have alittle more offensive upside than him but it is close
after 5 seconds I could see it too.
If Mailloux is in the realm of
This good I’ll be very happy
Seems like the kind of guy Armstrong likes a lot big guy with good skating. He'll go 6 at Utah.
Lindstrom next
Coming tomorrow!
Habs need a RHD.
