    Thank you for sharing the pros and cons of the different wraps!💛 I used the Solly wrap with my second baby and loved it. The lightweight fabric is perfect since I tend to overheat really easily. Once baby is too heavy for the wrap, I switch to my structured Ergo carrier.

  • @heathereagle2984
    @heathereagle2984 4 ปีที่แล้ว +14

    One of the cons for the mai tai could also be a pro in some instances - you said you can't take the baby out without taking the wrap off, but you could use that to your advantage in social situations where you don't want people passing your baby around or being held by too many different people

    Very helpful! With my first baby I used a Baby K'tan when he was a newborn. With my second baby I tried to skip a stretchy wrap and go straight for a soft structured carrier. But I realized that a wrap really is a newborn essential! 💜 Heidi

      @GingeRenee 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes I used the baby k’tan for my first two kids as well as moby. The moby was great once I got the hang of it but it wasn’t good for out and about because the fabric was so long it was hard to do without it touching the ground and possibly getting dirty when in public. I am pregnant with my 3rd and it’s been a few years so I’m hoping to try a ring sling but have the trusty k’tans on hand if I decide that works better.

    Thank you for addressing the safety concerns right in the beginning of the video. I've watched dozens of videos about various baby carriers and you are the first person to have specifically to offer a warning a couple of best practices when carrying a baby. I didn't realize the rule about being able to kiss their head, but I'm really glad you mentioned that.

    I loved baby wearing. Boba was my choice for stretchy wrap and structured carrier. My friend did a bunch of their photography, so she introduced me to them. I also loved my woven wraps. They’re so supportive and beautiful. I still have one even though my youngest is 8! I just can’t quite give it away.

    This video is SO helpful, thank you! I really like that you model how to tie each one and give specific pros and cons for knit vs woven and also for each individual type. I am pregnant with my second baby and I have a toddler, I didn't do too much babywearing with my now 20-month-old because I was intimidated by the wrap types- we have Moby, sling, baby bjorn, and an ergo baby but I feel ready to try babywearing on our little guy (due May 2020).
    Thank you again for this video! :)

    Getting ready for my 4th baby in April and baby wearing for the fourth time. Totally just watching for fun. :) If any moms out there want to know: for quick errands in and out of the car, I love the ring slings. You just throw them over your shoulder and go. The maya is my favorite because it has a large zip pocket at the end big enough for keys, wallet, and a diaper.

    My daughter was born 30 May. I loved the solly for the first 3 months. It is expensive, especially taking into account they don't carry a heavier baby. However, it was sooo perfect for summmer months. Me and baby were never too hot and I just wore it all the time during the day. I just didn't buy a second solly purely for price (I'd wash it at night and it would be dry in the morning). From 4 months old until now I've using the boba and loving it.

    Wish I had baby wraps when my babies were babies.
    I also like the way you also gave safety tips . Back in my day all we had was infant seats and I would carry it room to room of my home because as long as my children could see me they seemed to be more comfortable. Wish I had the wraps . If we did have them in the 70's , I wasn't aware of it. Thank you for sharing

    Just wanted to say I used the k’tan with my first daughter (based the size on my shirt size) and I was able to use comfortably from birth to almost two years old. I found it stretched with their wait but the extra sash allowed you to tighten it as you needed. So it’s sized more for the fit on you then the baby, and I found it a great option, especially on the go.

    In the early to mid 70's, I used an old school Geri carrier which was front worn rather than back pack style. I appreciated more after my second child came along as having to juggle care of two was made less frantic when I could have both hands free. As well as just having my children so close for mutual bonding and comfort. While I didn't use any of the styles you demonstrate ,I believe strongly that their use is beneficial in so many different areas, the least being simple practicality. Bravo you for recognizing and embracing your motherhood!

    I have a woven, mei tai, ring sling and a rebozo. I used to have a knit, but my rebozo is much like it-and not near the amount of fabric, but for my small frame it's still plenty. I've been baby wearing for about 10 years too.. My boys haven't been big fans of being carried past 3 months, but I still love it. My woven and mei tai are both DIY. My knit was also DIY and it just didn't feel like babe was secure anymore so I quit using it. I just got the rebozo a few years and absolutely LOVE the versatility. I used it during pregnancy and labor in my last pregnancy, a shawl, a nursing cover, carried babe when he was tiny. I'm still trying to figure out the ring sling. LOL I just haven't been able to feel like I can babe secure in it.. It stays in the car as an "emergency" wrap.. But that's it.

    Thank you for sharing. I am having a baby and my last child was 12 yrs ago. I want to wrap her but I don't even know where to start. I used the backpack type of carriers with my first child. This was very helpful

    Thank you so much for this video, having my baby girl in 4 days & I have 2 other kids I’m sure I’ll benefit from having a baby wrap this time. I went ahead and ordered the boba wrap they always have a 10% off code + free shipping. I paid $38.

    Thank you for this video! Super helpful! And thank you baby Micah (I hope I spelled his name correctly) for sacrificing his peaceful nap for showing us different kinds of carriers! lol He's such a cute baby.

    I've tried so many wraps. Moby, Boba, Ring Sling and other structured carriers like the ergo. I've had two babies and they just don't like them. My babies much prefer being down. I so wanted carriers and wraps to work but I've had to give up. Just wanted to share for anyone in the same boat as me. Not all babies like being constantly held.

    I have been waiting for you to do a video like this and because you didn't, I ended up buying the baby ktan but I wish I could've known that light baby wraps all the ones I've tried were way too hot for me. Anyway, thank you so much for finally doing it, I hope God blesses our family with more kids we only have one, send xoxo

    I love this ! I am loving the Ktan wrap - I have bought the Konny Baby Carrier which is similar - less fabric, and simple to use.
    I am worried though as you mentioned - the con of a "set" wrap, baby will grow quickly and my body could change, and as it isn't adjustable, it limits the time to use it.

      I used a K’tan for #1 and boba and Bjorn for #2 and loved the boba for the first few months and then the Bjorn for the first year. You are amazing 😘

    Only complaint is that it comes in the original packaging. So everyone knows what it is and could potentially be stolen. Other than that it seems like it’ll be comfortable. I’m currently 5 days away from giving birth and it fits around my belly comfortably. Price wise it’s perfect. Can’t wait to use this with my new little one while chasing my toddler.

    Thank you for this video!! I‘m pregnant with our first and a minimalist. I don‘t want to buy multiples of everything, so I think a knit wrap would be great for both me and my husband to use with baby in the early stages. We‘re pretty active people so I hope baby will be ok with being carried 😂❤
