Solo Skiff Lift: Raising Your Motor, Is it Worth It?!?!

I've been running a Skiff Lift for several years, but it wasn't until another skiffer mentioned sloppy prop wash when running his. It made me wonder if performance was suffering in any way. So I ran a few side by side tests to find out.

I also own a Solo Skiff and I experimented with raising my motor. I think raising it is just fine if you fish a lot of open water. I use mine in a lot of back waters where my turning radius is crucial so I had to lower mine back down. You are right though, if you run it fast and turn it hard, you are probably not going to stay in the boat.

Is that skiff made out of the same
Material as a bonafide, or is it harder and thicker

It's rotomolded just like most yaks, but it is much thicker and has a second material on the inside that is hard to describe other than hard foam...it add rigidity and stiffness. But the hull is probably 2-3 times thicker than most yaks....if not more.
