    That looks great!! Definitely looking forward to outfitting mine when I get it and I will absolutely be incorporating some of your ideas! Thanks for sharing! And I can't wait to see the power pole setup!

    That is about the best thought out/most practical setup I've seen yet. About the only thing I would change would be the seat. I have a bad back and I'd have to have a good seat back to brace against. Very nicely done and Thank you for taking time to video and post. You've given me some good ideas!

    Good work man, clean all through. Makes me twice as excited for mine to arrive in two weeks!

    Thanks for sharing you Solo build. I've have been waiting for my Solo for over 2 month and it's due for delivery next week, keeping fingers crossed, there's been several delays already. I look at as many utube videos on the Solo Skiff as I can find to help with layout ideas. I have been kayak fishing for over 7 years in San Diego and mostly fish off La Jolla and target mostly California Yellowtail. The Solo will allow me to go a bit further out and add Tuna to the target species. There is a bunch (over 20 guys) of mostly Hobie present and past owners that have been on the waiting list and are so ready for them to get here. So with 5 different kayaks I have set up, I mostly know, what gear and were I want it, but it great to see all the different ideas guys have. Tight Lines, Mark.

      No Problem. I loved my Hobie, but for a little more, you save a lot of time getting to spots much faster.

    Nice set up. I like the Hobie nets. I think I will do that to mine

      if you don't want to drill holes for the nets I found some on line with velcro for mounting and I think their bigger.

    Very nice setup dude! Thinking about selling my two yaks to get one of these for me and the wifey to use.

      👍 Thanks. Definitely can cover some water with it and get just as shallow as a yak.

      @@OffdayTherapy You ever take one of your kids with you, or your wife? I know Ty Southerland from 30 Miles Out has. But he didn't have the trolling motor and all that on there. It was just the outboard if I am not mistaken.

      @@MRBOBBY8706 no. I plan on keeping the solo to explore shallows, but I may get a boat next year for the family

    Probably one of my favorite setups ive seen yet! Idk if you've already seen Kagen's Fishing power pole anchor mount he made for his but, it seemed simple and effective. How much money would you say you're invested into your skiff so far? Im definitely going to get one!

    • @OffdayTherapy
      @OffdayTherapy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I seen Kagens. It works well. Imma go a different route since I have access to a welder.
      1900 solo skiff
      1400 motor
      600 Fish finder (not needed)
      1299 Trolling motor.
      Those were the big items

      Im excited to see what you come up with and also excited to see you catch some fish with that thing! I know RX is going to get one now after seeing the trolling motor addition lol!

    I’m thinking about getting one in the very near future as soon as they become available. Ballpark figure how much do you think you have invested in your solo skiff

    Do you get any interference on your fish finder from the motor blowing turbulent water across the transducer? Especially when you turn and point the prop at the ducer....thanks man im about to mount mine and looking for advide.

    I'm thinking about getting the Solo skiff or a used Bote Rover do you have any thoughts about which is better?

  • @wc6635
    @wc6635 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great set up! I'm getting ready to get a Minn Kota Terrova for my solo skiff. Any chance for a video on how you prepped the boat for mounting the Minn Kota?

    • @OffdayTherapy
      @OffdayTherapy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      W C i honestly didn’t prep it. Just took some measurements and started cutting. Also just feel around under the front if you have a hatch so you can know where to drill holes. I looked at the Terrova, but the Riptide was only 30lbs. Want to lessen the weight as much as possible up front.

    • @wc6635
      @wc6635 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OffdayTherapy Did you put a backer plate on the top or bottom of the deck? I've already installed a Hobie hatch (square) so I have plenty of room to work under the deck. I'll compare the motors, so thanks for the advice on that!

    • @OffdayTherapy
      @OffdayTherapy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wc6635 you can fit more arm in with the square hatch, but in some spots I could use a piece of backing, closer to the tip of the bow I had to use fender washers and regular washers where they fit.

      I'm debating putting a thrilling motor on mine. I bounce between a 100 sized battery vs the 50. And I also debate the xi3 since they say it is geared more to "kayaks"... curious how long you can run your trolling motor on your battery and if the xi3 vs yours really matters. Do you notice the added weight while riding?
