Thanks for an interesting video. I am reminded of a saying: There are old sailors and bold sailors. But there are No Old Bold sailors. Respect the water and the weather. They can kill you. Carry On.
I found that holding on to a rail on the gunnel is better then a front rope. The rope only helps front to back movement and it' to easy to get pitched off to the side. I use Hobie 9" rails but some people like the long ones to be able to mount accessories. Tight Lines!
Happened to me, when i first left the water was nice and calm. I went through the lake and into another outlet protected by waves, then when i started to head back i had to go through the lake to get back to where i launched, if all else fails just go super slow, i doubt this thing will flip otherwise
Little boat like that, in the winter time? Wear a wetsuit under your clothes! And an auto inflatable pfd! You've got bigger balls than me, though, tell ya that much. Good call on coming back in.
Even amongst the amplitude of choppy waves...
A scene can stay serene in the fisherman's bay.
Cool video! Thanks

I like the rod holder style, gave me some idea on my skiff.
Been there done that. Won't be the first time weather decides not to cooperate. Glad you made the safe call.
Gotta trim the bow up in waves and stay on slow plane.....
