    Agreed, politics is dirty and replete with corruption especially in the developing countries, but the only hope for a radical change is to have the honest and scrupulous people to join.

    Whatever advice you have to give to IK, you should give credit for him to be on ground and fight his way into politics unlike people like you who bailed out decades ago and now have audacity of commenting on him like this..

    A person who never hesitates to express his mind but, he has started to press his own importance by telling stories that everyone important has seeked his advice, from Benazir to Imran, which is getting on nerves of people like me.

    He himself said that Imran proved him wrong, that is enough for an intelligent person that Imran will continue to do the same in the future. If he has failed to bring about change, we still cannot blame Imran, at least he tried

    I love Tarik Ali to pieces, but his lack of faith in this instance is a real handicap. Imran on the other hand is an honest principled man and predictably the Pakistani political system has cut him down. The honest people of Pakistan know what is going on, so God help the Country, the people of Pakistan can only take so much.

    I have high hopes for Imran Khan but those scoffing at Tariq Ali should listen to the points he made towards the end of the video and look at some red flags happening with Mr.Khan like him considering IMF bailout (a recipe for disaster at the leading institution of the shock doctrine) or still maintaining economic ties and a bailout from Saudi Arabia the very backward Islamists he claims he wants to rid Pakistan of because he's a secular non-sectarian champion, and for a guy wanting to take on the Pakistani military and deep state like the ISI with huge ties to Islamists that they export to Afghanistan and elsewhere this should be a red flag for all.

      You make no sense and have no idea of the actual issues. If you think considering imf is bad you sir need to learn economics.

    • @Yourismouter
      @Yourismouter 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@subhanrukh The IMF has been a tool for colonialism, austerity, regressive policies, and Western multinational corporations and market fundamentalism. you sir need to read some history and look at the voo-doo economics at which the IMF has installed on the world.

    As someone who's been a big fan of Mr Ali for years now, have his works and watches his interviews this was really a shoddy reply. Suggesting Mr Khan to act? Like really? I thought it was a damn joke. Khan does have some shady characters in his party but he also has newcomers. Why don't you give him some practical advice. And for God's sake enough wit hthe military/civilian bullshit. One thing Mr Ali points out correctly is the rot and cynicism of the political class and the mess that Khan has to clean up.

      Ali Shahzad Tariq Ali is 100% right on his analysis of Imran. Imran is not a natural politician and everyone knows how he got into the power. He had to rent so many lunatics to form the government who were part of every other dictatorship and civilian government. One of his close aids Hamid Khan resisted the Imran’s idea of forming the government with the help of army but Imran said there is no other way he could get into power and time is running out for him. And now army has already had enough of IK. They are paving the way for new political scenario in Pakistan.

    So his solution....is to accept the status quo? Tariq Ali is weak. Full stop. He has a weak mentality and a weak mind. His voice, his thoughts, his opinion is like seeking the opinion of a depressed person if you are trying to overcome depression. Imran Khan, against all odds became prime minister of Pakistan through sheer grit and determination. And even if he fails rotting in a prison, his life mattered. Anyone who is reading this who cares about anything. Your life matters, as crazy as it sounds you have the ability to get someone to space, to change the government, to do anything you set your mind to. It just takes time.

      Other than exploding population, hunger, poverty, diseases and now Islam nothing new is happening in Pakistan. Lack of democracy ensures only a select few have the money, luckily for all Mr. Ali hangs out only with the fat ones.

    Is Tariq Ali arguing for accelerationism for Pakistan as a panacea for what he admits to be the most corrupt system? Well, he is a radical, but radicalism in Pakistan can only be drawn from the religious nuts. Dr. Ali has too much idealism owing to his separation from reality. Been in London too long.
