What if Chi-Chi and Bulma became Saiyans? Maybe in the same vein/reason as Krillin in Masakox's what if where the two feel left in the dust by their husbands (maybe this is during the years before the Android saga or the 10 days before the Cell Games), so they want to know if they could become more like them to understand what makes them tick, except this leads to them becoming Saiyans by their vague wish to Shenron, much to the shock of their husbands and Gohan. Maybe this kind of strains Vegeta's relationship with Bulma since remember, he hadn't fully developed into a good guy yet, this is a bit fresh after the Frieza saga, so I don't know if Trunks could be born in this time, but Goku is more accepting since you know, he's nice to almost anyone he finds. If the two can prove their worth of being Saiyans (in case Vegeta does accept Bulma somewhat), then we'll see them determined to be efficient fighters in the coming days. Maybe while Chi-Chi tries to be a pure fighter true and true with maybe her moves named after mountains since she's from Fire Mountain, Bulma decides to train her body AND her mind, becoming essentially a Saiyan scientist fighter. Maybe this can then result in Goten and Trunks being born pure Saiyans and thus could pull their own with their mothers backing them up. Maybe we can see Bulchi be born and then tagged along with Vegito and Gotenks destroy Buu to make that saga end iconically instead of just "Oh, they stop Buu before he could hatch"
I feel like Trunks would go to the supreme Kai to keep his training there and trunks (future) seems to be the one to go train with an old master again. It would also be an interesting path of power different from Gohan(Human path), Goku(Angel path) and Vegeta(GoD path).
I LOVE the idea of Trunks staying and being part of the main cast. He's always been one of my favorites. My only issue with him staying is that there would then be two Trunks. I think this might make things awkward and confusing. I think Future Trunks would volunteer to either change his name or just have a second name. The question then is what would it be? I actually think he might ask Vegeta to give him a saiyan name. What do you guys think it might be?

I really liked your interpretation of how the events would flow if Trunks decided to stay! The only thing I feel a little iffy about, though, is Trunks reaching Super Saiyan God. Though a possibility, I feel that Trunks would rather stay back on Earth and develop the form he attained when fighting Goku Black. Given his immense potential (as a human/saiyan hybrid), I'd think that Trunks would still be able to grow immensely powerful (maybe even as strong as SSB Goku and Vegeta) as he trained with Gohanl
You know, another possible ending to this short could be Trunks using the Mafuba! Remember, he trained how to use it and if they can't beat Moro with their power alone, they could use the Mafuba to seal him away and pretty much end it there. Obviously not an exciting, but it could be cool to see. (I mean, Goku knows how to do it too so either Goku and Trunks could do it.)
Hey this is just an idea but maybe instead of forcing Broly on Vampa you could try something like maybe since Berry Blue and Kikono are still alive you could say they decide to take charge of the Frieza Force and like in the movie they seek out new recruits and possibly seeing Goku and Vegeta as potential threats they go to Earth and try to use Paragus and Broly to defeat them just a possible option I thought I might point out
