    We test drove ours in January the day after watching Ricky's own video about the third row seats, paid our deposit, and replaced our Santa Fe XL with it just 2 days later. The high trade-in value on the Santa Fe, Tesla's price drop the week before, and learning that the tow rating was 3500 lbs and not the 2500 I'd previously thought; was the perfect storm that made it possible. Thanks Ricky!

      The wipers with cruise control is a maddening issue that we've encountered as well. On greasy winter roads the related streaking is a massive hazard, and we've added more washer fluid to the Tesla in two months than we typically add to a car in two years. To add insult to injury, a minute or so after you get the windshield cleared the car wipes/re-streaks it again. There are days we flat out could not use cruise control because of the issue, and we're hoping that a software update cures it before winter returns next year. Other than that, we love the car!

    I have to chuckle when I read all the criticisms from people who don't own a Tesla. So many misconceptions. However, not everyone is suited to own a Tesla. They are different, they have some quirks and it takes some time and effort to learn about the car and get used to it. I have had a model Y for 10 months. I don't like driving "standard" cars anymore.

      I drove my father's Tesla for a summer (operations etc). All the EV aspects and performance etc great. However it is missing the features I expect of a 60k car and that's inexcusable. My father agrees. No AR HUD. Stupid. No drivers screen, the ID7 is again superior here. No mood lighting which adds character, no external light patterns which adds character, awful auto wipers, other cars have superior adaptive headlights, better quality interior.
      Awful auto parking. Dangerous.
      You can say the features I mention aren't needed and it varies depending on the feature but and what you want but for that money I expect at least some of it.
      Was it fast. Yeah. Did I enjoy it. Yeah. I hate driving fossil fuel cars round now. Do I respect it if someone loves theirs? Definitely and I'm supportive of it. Really good car. See I'm balanced.

The EU is actively putting regulatory hurdles in place forcing Tesla to remove functional autopilot features, (navigate on autopilot no longer takes off ramps or initiates automatic highway overtaking as it did before) and as a result no discernible European specific FSD development seems to be going on.
      Examples: FSD visualisations don't include roundabouts (a large proportion of our road junctions), or pedestrian crossings (The majority of which have no traffic lights associated, but come with legal requirement to allow pedestrian passage).

    We have a M3LR since 2019, and we are happy with it. But as you said, we don't know HOW happy we can/should be as long we don't drive another EV. And this happened a few months ago: Since November last year we have a 2nd car, it's a Smart EQ. Also fully electric, also ok from driving perspective - but rubbish from software perspective. Unreliable software, bad (or no) customer service on issues, most time no access to the car, although it stands 2meters beside the M3. So, you are completely right: We should enjoy the Tesla and need to accept, that reliability, comfort and capabilities of Tesla software is on another level than the software from other brands. (our only experience is this M3 and this Smart).

I do appreciate how Tesla have brought the legacy automakers out of their fossil slumber and into at least working towards EV production some more than others(ie: Ford/VW). I like the car, and thought about getting one, the funny thing was, finally, I could just not accept having to go through a touch screen menu for the most basic of functions, this video shows the problem. Why is there not just a stalk for turning the wipers off! You don't have to have it for everything, but there are probably like 5 or 6 functions for which you want a physical control.

    • @yl4773
      @yl4773 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The left stalk has a button at the end, when pressed will activate the wiper once. Then on the screen, you can activate the frequency of the wipers or leave it on auto. However, as demonstrated on this video, the wipers may turn on randomly or go at full speed during lite rainfall. I believe most Tesla drivers do not use the auto wipers.

Tesla is using the downturn in the overall economy to build market share, and it's working. Electricity is getting cheaper, and is already free in some-places and some-times. Didnt like the video overlays, a bit confusing (eg the scrolling in menu while driving and talking about software)

    I've heard of other Model Y owners having a similar problem with the windscreen wipers and autopilot.

    8:38 - happens to my car as well. It may have something to do with engaging Enhanced Autopilot. 🙄
