Here’s a good story. I had tickets for the second show of the stones Bridges to Babylon tour at Soldier Field in 1997. A few days earlier, I’m in my college dorm getting ready for class and listening to WXRT radio. They announced that the Stones were playing a pre-show concert at the Double Door that night. Tickets were $7. I blew off class, recruited my buddy to head down to try to get tickets. By the time we got there, it was sold out and the street was jam packed with people. We managed to stand next to the back stage door and begged the security guard to open the door so we could hear. He did and we enjoyed the show a few feet from the stage. Great grassroots stones.
That's great 👍 The only time I ever saw them was that same tour in Oakland CA at the outdoor stadium with Living Colour opening. Fantastic show. Once in a lifetime experience for me. $100.00 Great guard. 🕉 Cheers 🍻 👏 🎉

Wow!! So glad this came up on my page!! I'm a cameraman in Chicago and I got a call to show up at the Double Door the following night and that's all he could tell me. I showed up, and on the marquee read, "Tonight Rolling Stones $7. Sold out." It was a stop on the Miller Lite surprise concert series. Double Door is a bar in Chicago that maybe held 300-400 max and that's packed! Couldn't believe it! I was the stage left cameraman standing 2-10' away from the legends of rock all night!! Frickin amazing!! It's definitely one of the best highlights in my highlight filled career!! So blessed!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
That's so awesome. I'm glad I saw your comment. I was thinking what's up with this- it's a small club, when did this happen?! Wow, cameraman left! I saw them once Babylon tour in Oakland at the stadium. The best 👌 Cheers mate! 🍻 🎉
Of all the secret Stones warm up gigs down years this is my favourite by a mile. Despite the poor video quality I keep coming back to watch over and over again🕺👅🎶🎵🎸🎸🥁🙏☘️🇮🇪

I got a high five from Ronnie when they went into the club. I was convinced this was going to happen at the Riviera. I was wrong. I lived 2 blocks from the Double Door at the time. One of the biggest miscalculations of my life.

Great show before a tour that quite honestly wasn’t my favorite. Daryl Jones is a fine bassist no doubt he’s done a great job. That said, Bill Wyman’s importance can’t be understated, and his runs on NNB really missed
Thank you I couldn’t agree with you more Bills Bass was incredibly consistent with giving the stones that rumble and tumble in tune with Charlie’s drumming.
"morritos" Jagger siempre a centrado la atención dentro del grupo, pero desde que vi a Keith interpretando al padre de Jack Sparrow me rindo a sus pies !!!es un máquina!!!

Thanks for sharing this! I remember hearing about that show. I remember hearing there were long lines and you had to get an arm band to be able to get in. Nice to be able to see the show all these years later...I wondered what it would be like to see them in a small club like that...next best thing to being there...I have seen music there before so familiar with the space...

The real deal.
Rare, bare bones funky rock and roll and blues.
Yes folks- please give a warm welcome...........
Keef once again dangerously cool as fuck.
Mick's guitar playing contributes nothing. He should stop, and just sing.
Thank you for your attention. Lol.
Legendary band ! Respect !
No other rock band has gone this far and still reamain creative
Chicago's Double Door! RIP!
It's a shame shame shame they are not on tour
Anybody seen my baby - best version ever heard, Ronnie kicks asses, wahwahwahwah...!
At 13:39 Do they throw out the guy yelling
“Hey Mick - You Look Fucked Up” ??
Doubtful. But, he even stopped Keith dead in his tracks. The balls.

The best Rock band in the world 🌎
Went there for a weekend in September. Amazing city. I’m from the west coast.
THIS is fuc%!ng awesome! GREAT post! HAPPY 78th (!) B DAY MICK
Why KR dressed to play a stadium. Surely a shirt, waistcoat and no glasses would have been appropriate.
Mick Jagger is a real devastating live wire on the stage, Mike.
Great concert......great!!
I like these footages in small clubs!
C'est la qu'ils jouent le mieux maintenant
I cried when I heard on WXRT about tickets. Was working. What a GEM!!!
Desde Pantanal MS Brasíl!
holy Mary Stones grooving grown up. so good. rocking...
if this happened today not a single person would be enjoying the moment, it’d be phone screens everywhere
Yup...people dont care about enjoying the show in the moment...only showing other people what they did...not WATCHING AND LISTENING AND IN THE MOMENT
God, you said that right- I hate that too.
I miss the old days!
💯 % Rock and Roll
No kidding! People spend so much time trying to capture the moment that they totally miss actually experiencing it!! 😂
ONLY FOR FANATICS SONGS LIST, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is just unbelievably good. 😛

Great show before a tour that quite honestly wasn’t my favorite. Daryl Jones is a fine bassist no doubt he’s done a great job. That said, Bill Wyman’s importance can’t be understated, and his runs on NNB really missed
Wyman is way better for the stones imo
Bridges was a great tour.

Absolutely the greatest band of all times , only somebody who sold his soul can achieve this, I don't believe they did 😂 ...except Mick , maybe 🤔😂
