Fabulous interview with a talented and fun bloke! One thing few people talk about is just how damn photogenic the Rolling Stones have always been, from the early years with Brian right up to now (Andrew Loog Oldham knew what he was doing when he removed the decidedly unphotogenic Stu from the line-up!). Other bands might've been more conventionally handsome, but they never looked quite as good as The Stones!
Nice interview to great photograph Paul Natkin and some story of his career and work with The Rolling Stones 💓 Touching, funny remember of Unforgettable Charlie and His Loved Wife Shirley 😥💔 RIP Thanks to Hang Fire for this beautiful sharing ✌️👍👌👋👋🙋♀️
@@HangFireStonesPodcast Yes, that's a rather nice picture of Charlie. Although the photo of the band from behind is lovely. Like you said not many photos like that showing them taking the final bow from behind. Infact,it may be the only one I know of. Makes it a rather unquie photograph in my book.
You got that “eye of a hurricane” feeling if you had an onstage seat during the 2005 tour. We were lucky enough to have onstage “booths” in Moncton. You could really feel the energy and the noise of the crowd. It was a totally unique experience.
In 1990, I got 4 original signed prints mounted on foam-core from Paul... my wife, who worked at a recording studio in Chicago got them as a christmas gift...3 from Steel Wheels of Charlie, Ron and Mick and a studio one of Keith from that session. My treasures!
Justin, excellent discussion with a man who has an incredible eye for taking pictures - really super lovely photos of the band and especially of Keith and Charlie. Amazing! No wonder you model your own picture taking off Paul. I see Paul is credited in the Steel Wheels Atlantic City Box Set as one of the photographers.
Hey thanks so much Rick. Yup - his work left a huge impression on me---as I'm sure many many other *actual* photographers haha. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching!
Very fun interview, Justin, thank you so much for this! Lots of good little nuggets, makes me love all of them even more than I already do! Take good care, thank you for all you do! ♥🎵🎶

Great interview!! Quick question for you and I don’t know if you know the answer, but since he did a lot of the x-pensive 39:23 winos photographs on Keith’s first tour in particular, do you know the photo that is at the center of the little photo book that comes with live at the Hollywood Palladium? You see a guy handing Keith a patch of a Rolling Stones tongue. That happens to be a friend of mine who always carried that patch with him and said he was going to give that patch to Keith. When he told us he had, no one really believed him until I opened up the booklet and saw it. Is that one of his photographs? If so, does he have that photo for sale?
Great stories - great pictures - no personality. Just like the Stones want. You don't say no to the Stones. You only get on a stage between Mick and Keith in front of 80,000 people once. I'd love to hear the aftermath of that stunt. I bet Charlie backed him up on that one. What do you reckon?
Besides the music probably the photography of the stones is more interesting than the music at time Probably my favorite photos are by Gered Mankowitz in the Brian jones era
Another home run of an interview! Thanks for bringing this to us.
Really appreciate it!
Great shots, grear career.

Thank you Peter! I totally agree. The camera loves them. Throw in the fashion and it's a dangerous combination. They had something extremely special!
Great interview! So many iconic shots...
Thanks for watching!
Enjoyable interview. Great stories!
Thanks for watching 👍
This is an awesome interview thank you .

Good interview. Paul’s an interesting and likeable guy.
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Another great video. He really took some great photographs.
legendary!
@@HangFireStonesPodcast My only problem is I have a hard time deciding which of his photos I like the best.
@@Mcfly85A so many iconic shots right? My favorite might be the one or Charlie in the blue jacket on stage from 1997

Terrific interview.

Great interview....it's crazy I have a book of pictures I got from the Steel Wheels era and some of those pictures are in there!

Been seeing Paul at concerts for years in Chicago.
Hey, Paul, Keith with the triangle shapes on white shirt on. Where was that shot at?
btw: I was at the rehearsals for Bridges at Soldier Field. Working on a Best Buy commercial. Spoke to Paul.
that's awesome---treasures you have there!
Love, he should do an exhibit
Very interesting interview. thank you

I'm aware of Paul Natkin. I've been to the Morrison Gallery in New York and bought one of his shots. Great interview, nice job. Thank you!

Great stuff. Fortune favors the bold!
Yes indeed! 🤘
That was fantastic!!!! Does he still go on tour with them now?
Unfortunately the last tour he joined them on was on the Bridges to Babylon tour. Thanks for watching!
I have a large promo die cut lobby standup of Mr. Natkin's Imax image I liberated from the theater!
haha awesome!
A real tenous job! I wonder how much he was paid? The Stones with Jagger's fingers at the purse have been known to be a wee bit cheap!

Google Paul Natkin, contact information is widely available.
