holy shit. this smokes.
This is by far the best version of You Got Me Rocking ever!
Killer performance! 😎. Keith is in rare form.
Mick Jagger is a real devastating live wire on the stage, Mike.
... like a devil, I got scared seeing his face here on this video...😮
This is just unbelievably good. 😛
That was a great night. I'm the handheld cameraman you see on stage standing in the background beside Charlie. It was definitely a career highlight. It must have been 100+ degrees in there!
Zappa is like the Carlin of music
Warts and all! Love it!
Great show! Up close and personal!
Watched this whole show with a smile on my face
Many thanks for sharing this. Absolutely fantastic show.
Why KR dressed to play a stadium. Surely a shirt, waistcoat and no glasses would have been appropriate.
pure legends,royalties of rock
Wnderful raw live sound, and wonderful audience!
Genius
Watching him rehearse this orchestra with his last great composition is painfully bittersweet; knowing he is in pain and easily fatigued by the ravages of cancer. Yet he perseveres with his hallmark perfectionist work ethic to bring his music to life. We miss you Frank
Zappa did some questionable things - this shows him at his best, striving diligently yet good -humouredly to do the best work he could, despite experiencing great pain.
TAWFIX STONES
Daryl and Charlie are tight
Desde Pantanal MS Brasíl!
Sem aparatos de mega show gostei mais porque até os anos 70 os shows eram assim, pausas afinações microfonia ... autênticos
holy Mary Stones grooving grown up. so good. rocking...

Los conciertos en salas más o menos pequeñas son fantásticos, más que nada por lo cercanos que sientes a tipos como estos...I LIKE STONS❤
Mick's guitar playing contributes nothing. He should stop, and just sing. Thank you for your attention. Lol.
I saw the Stones on this very tour in Oakland CA at the outdoor stadium with seating on the field; with Living Colour opening. So great. This was the warm up show apparently! 🎉
My dad was born in Chicago. I've never been. He passed in '68, I was 11. This one's for you dad! 🎉 🎶 🕉 The best Rock band in the world 🌎
Went there for a weekend in September. Amazing city. I’m from the west coast.
The real deal. Rare, bare bones funky rock and roll and blues. Yes folks- please give a warm welcome...........
Agreed! Awesome.
Of all the secret Stones warm up gigs down years this is my favourite by a mile. Despite the poor video quality I keep coming back to watch over and over again🕺👅🎶🎵🎸🎸🥁🙏☘️🇮🇪
Anybody seen my baby - best version ever heard, Ronnie kicks asses, wahwahwahwah...!
Okay, this is the best band in the fucking world.
OK! For God's sake!! How many hits did they write? They're Always fun!❤
except asshole ronnie lead
So, members of the orchestra would be "hunching" and "tooting" (1:55). Hmmm...no foolin'.
good stuff
Absolutely the greatest band of all times , only somebody who sold his soul can achieve this, I don't believe they did 😂 ...except Mick , maybe 🤔😂
Thanks Zappa ❤
At 13:39 Do they throw out the guy yelling “Hey Mick - You Look Fucked Up” ??
Doubtful. But, he even stopped Keith dead in his tracks. The balls.

I would watch all of these rehearsals if they were available. So fascinating to me. RIP Frank we miss you!
Wow!! So glad this came up on my page!! I'm a cameraman in Chicago and I got a call to show up at the Double Door the following night and that's all he could tell me. I showed up, and on the marquee read, "Tonight Rolling Stones $7. Sold out." It was a stop on the Miller Lite surprise concert series. Double Door is a bar in Chicago that maybe held 300-400 max and that's packed! Couldn't believe it! I was the stage left cameraman standing 2-10' away from the legends of rock all night!! Frickin amazing!! It's definitely one of the best highlights in my highlight filled career!! So blessed!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
That's so awesome. I'm glad I saw your comment. I was thinking what's up with this- it's a small club, when did this happen?! Wow, cameraman left! I saw them once Babylon tour in Oakland at the stadium. The best 👌 Cheers mate! 🍻 🎉
Someone has to do it. lol I got to see ZZ TOP in a small venue . I was close enough to see the sweat on their brows.
if this happened today not a single person would be enjoying the moment, it’d be phone screens everywhere
Yup...people dont care about enjoying the show in the moment...only showing other people what they did...not WATCHING AND LISTENING AND IN THE MOMENT
God, you said that right- I hate that too. I miss the old days! 💯 % Rock and Roll
No kidding! People spend so much time trying to capture the moment that they totally miss actually experiencing it!! 😂
Génio 🙏
Here is FZ putting the eyebrows on it with the Ensemble Modern. Some of them are better at the eyebrow thing than others.
stank
This whole concert is such a gem, I'm confused as to why it hasn't been released for download/DVD etc? So much has been released since Frank's passing so why not this?
Equal parts edifying and entertaining, this 14-minute Yellow Shark rehearsal excerpt is a dope AF pleasure. Zappa: quite the mensch! Thanks for this thoughtful post, ivano g casamonti.
I have been a zappa fan since Billy the Mountain.
Thanks for sharing this! I remember hearing about that show. I remember hearing there were long lines and you had to get an arm band to be able to get in. Nice to be able to see the show all these years later...I wondered what it would be like to see them in a small club like that...next best thing to being there...I have seen music there before so familiar with the space...
