After a little over a month of turning and burning, I'm back to the TH-cam stuff. Today's video is a simple company update, quick review on a nice little lightweight hunting rifle build, a re-review of the Aero Precision Solus build I am now calling the "Everyman Rifle", and an introduction to the next TPM shooting challenge.

- Any rifle, any cartridge.
- Shoot from front bipod / rear bag, no mechanical "rail guns" of benchrest stuff.
- Any magnified optic
- Shot from 100 yards
- Unlimited attempts, but please record your attempt number on the target. BE HONEST!!!!

I have a KYL contest question. If I use a different rifle does the "attempt number" start at '1' or does it continue with the total number of attempts?

Congrats on getting the business going full speed! Besides having to deal with some knot heads occasionally, it sounds like you really enjoy building those pew pews! And I think every company tests their rifles and pistols before shipping them out. If not, and a mistake was made with headspace or something, imagine the liability! I love these challenges you are doing. I can shoot sub 1/2” groups all day (well most of the time!) but when there is a challenge or contest, or just competing for bragging rights with friends, it turns the heat up a bit! Can’t wait to give this one a go!
Exactly. Every manufacturer out there tests their guns before they sell them.

@@triggeredprecisionmachinellc I was WAY too confident today. Took my 6.5 creedmoor to the range, and took 2 challenge sheets. My thought was, I’ll clean it on the first try, then have a second sheet to kill some time and have some fun. First sheet, missed the 5th shot by almost an inch! Don’t have any idea how I missed it that bad, but I went down range and put up my second target. Again, first 4 were easy, and then I put the 5th shot on the edge, less than 50% inside the target!! I’m gonna try it again with my 6mm creedmoor, but I was humbled!! That last target is tiny at 100 yards for sure!
The customers who think a rifle that is test shot by the manufacturer is used probably doesn't understand that all firearms are proof tested before leaving the plant. Sometimes the proof round will be double of the maximum standard load.
With a .308 Winchester, 15 rounds is just a wakeup call for the day.

Do you make barreled action only?
No sir, full rifle builds are my bread and butter but barreled actions are very commonly requested.
What, in your opinion, makes the Terminus action superior to Defiance or Lone Peak?
Hmmm. A few things...
1. I think the overall "fit and finish" is better. All the machining is clean and the parts are aesthetically pleasing.
2. I prefer the ion bonded action and bolt over the bare stainless actions.
3. I really like the 60 degree bolt throw and like the 3 lug action.
4. I've seen better dimensional consistency with the Terminus than the other close competitors.
5. The roller tipped cocking mechanism is smooth and offers a great feel.
6. The quick change barrel feature on the Zeus is simple and shockingly repeatable.
7. AVAILABILITY! This is huge for me. I refuse to wait 15-18 months for a standard Defiance Deviant action. I know exactly what goes into making one. This doesn't make sense.
8. Price - For the inclusion of the features and characteristics listed above, the Terminus actions come in cheaper than the Defiance equivalent.
As for Lone Peak, I've had exactly two in my shop and I think they are nice, but their stainless actions are pretty standard, not too much exciting about em. Decent price though. The Fuzion Ti is pretty darned awesome at 23 ounces. Great place to start a light weight hunting build.

Most factory rifles, Weatherby and many others test fire the rifle before it is shipped, are they used. No they are test fired as they should. be..

I will have to try this target with my 6GT build on a Solus action with a Criterion Savage SS build. If anything, I love a decent target
Those KYL targets have humbled me more times than I can remember. 😂
How do you like your Solus build? I've sold a ton of em and had nothing but positive feedback.
@@triggeredprecisionmachinellc the barrel and Go Gauge shows up Tuesday so we will see. Any advice on using the Aero sleeve would be appreciated because that is what I'm using. Other than that, I really like the action. I'm really excited to get it up and running
ACE Barrels..!For hunting medium/large game 200m or less is fine.But absolutely not for PRS,ELR,Bench rest or anything like that.. Ace has a little way to go before they get to top tier.. you would think they should be in 2023. Thanks
