    Thank you for posting this video. Seven years and the company still hasn't improved the manual to include this nugget of information. Almost destroyed the dang button and then decided to search on internet. Again, many thanks!

    Man... would you believe it. Here we are, 8 years later, and they STILL did not update the manual about how to remove the head from this rig. I received it today, nice radio but this head removal turned out to be a real challenge. Decided to check Google before I screw something up, and ended up with your video. Thanks for making it clear!

    I just got one of these radios. I figured it out just as you showed it. THANKS! Also, neat how the little orange sticker inside says "Don't insert mic/speaker into the jack!" You'd think they mean don't hook the mic into that jack, but maybe they mean don't use the jack on the back! LOL

    Holding the unit upright. If you depress the head separation key... apply lateral pressure of the head to the left and it will separate. Yes!!!! They should have mentioned this in the instruction book. I spent a few minutes trying to pry them aqpart before my Eureka moment.

    @joeblan9426 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks,I was just like you ,I tried to look for a way to get it to separate from the main part in the instructions and couldn't.I gave you a thumbs up,I really appreciate it!

    Just received mine today, will be adding an extension to the speaker jack and leaving it in permanently.
    Brand new to the hobby, received my general on 6/13/16 (tested for both tech and gen same sitting) and looking forward to learning a bit. Added a HH-9000 antenna to mine, we'll see how it works.
    Thanks for sharing

      How did that antenna work out for you?

    • @1OFGODSOWN
      @1OFGODSOWN 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have heard that antenna is pure garbage? I am buying a Diamond CR8900 since I know they work without tuning or any issues.

    • @1OFGODSOWN
      @1OFGODSOWN 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      My Diamond CR-8900A did require tuning for 6 & 10 meters & I cut about half of the stinger off before getting a good tune on both bands. 2 meters & 440 mhz were great right out of the package.

    Sean, thanks so much for this. It had me completely flummoxed. You saved the day. As for the xmitted audio quality you mentioned,, I have found another video where the poster suggested setting the "emphasis" to "on" on all channels, and the bandwidth selector to "middle" again on all channels. My buddies tell me that made the difference between night and day as far as audio quality goes. Thanks too for the warning about the speaker jack. forewarned is forearmed. Paul, KE7PCB

    Can you verify the keypads are illuminated on the faceplate?

    • @1OFGODSOWN
      @1OFGODSOWN 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The key pads on the transceiver are NOT illuminated just the key pad on the microphone when the switch is turn to the ON position.
