    I just found your channel while researching this binocular. I almost laughed out loud at how passionate you are about them! I just ordered a pair as a Christmas present for my son. I think the size, weight, and 8X will be great for him at 9yrs old, and the quality will be high enough he won't outgrow them. They should still be very useful even when he owns bigger glass someday.

    Your review tempted me to buy the 8x32 over the 10x28. I was originally looking at 10x25 sized binos or the Vortex Solo monocular for travel. We are mostly going to use them during day hikes and wildlife spotting in national parks. I felt like the 8x32 was a good compromise that would travel well as we do carry on only when traveling abroad.

    If you read about what to look for in binoculars they often say that "HD" is a marketing thing and should be ignored. Be that as it may I was looking for a pair of binoculars to keep in the car. After reading some reviews I got these 8 X 32s and have been happy with them. Images don't pop like my Leicas but I think are very good.

  • @spamcan9208

    I had to return the 8x32 Opticron Oregon because the bottom half of the lens would be filled with glare whenever I looked up towards the trees/sky.
    They were my first quality pair of binos and I loved the wide FOV and the image looked fantastic minus the glare. I was hooked and I've been itching to get a new pair but I'm hesitant. I'm new to optics, is that glare just something that is going to happen in that price bracket? Maybe all binos do it? After all, you can't break the laws of physics!
    Since I use a cane, their glasspak looked promising. Will it fit the smaller 32s?
    Thanks

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Any optic that catches rays from the sun will get glare. I fight it or use it with my cameras all the time. Doesn't matter if it's a 100 dollar lens or a 5000 dollar lens glare is gonna happen.

    • @spamcan9208
      @spamcan9208 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SamkoTradBow Thanks for the reply. I just went outside with my cheap Celestron Cometron 7x50's to double check my memory. They do have glare as well but it's very minimal and not distracting on a very bright, sunny day. The Opticton was way worse. I remember using both side by side in the same bright sunlight and being surprised that the glare *completely* washed out the bottom half of each lens! And eye cup settings made no difference.
      If the Vortex doesn't do that then there's a good chance I buy them.

    So here is my review on the Vortex 8x42 HD Diamondbacks, and I care to share that with you! The actual contrast is flatter on the Diamondbacks when compared to my Zeiss Victory 8x20 compacts, and on a grey day the Ziess have more sparkle and contrast by at least %10! But,,,,,, when the sun is shining at its peak or under snow conditions with a bright sun, I find the Vortex has a more beautiful look without blowing out any highlights for lower contrast glass! The colors pop more to my taste on the Vortex when the sun is out, especially yellows and greens, and even blues. So, the Zeiss Victory scores higher on sharpness, and contrast,,,,,, but on colors and harsh lighting conditions, I have to hand the more beautiful colors and smooth image over to my new Diamondbacks from Vortex! (I did have to tighten the focus knob just one time by popping of the knob cover, as it had a tiny dead zone out of the box, but that was very easy to fix and adjust, and so far, love these binoculars)

      I have used them side by side a few times. The vortex are fantastic and I love them. However they are not even in the same time zone as the swarvos. Even my 15 year old swarvos for that matter. But again look at the cost factor. I sure do love those little vortex and also love the dirt cheap price. I can beat the crap out of them, not worry about them and if i damage them buy new ones for the same cost a night out with dinner and drinks with friends. Can't beat that!

      Depends on what you are using them for. Cant go wrong with either. Here is my 2 cents. If I was only going to have one pair id go 8x42. if i was going to use them in low light alot id go 8x42. if iwas going to use them to scan for game in open country id go 8x42. If i was going to be hunting thick stuff mostly daylight only and wanted lighter weight id go 8x32. But again these differences are so close together you honestly cant go wrong with either. maybe this puts it a better way. if you are going to wear the 8x42s and not leave them in your pack because of the extra size and weight, get those. if you dont think you would wear the 42s because they would be an inconvenience get the 32s.

      The 8x32 is the best !
      It’s just as good in most light conditions.
      Except twilight or darker, where the 8x42 ‘s are a little brighter, not much.
      8x32’s have the biggest field of view of any binoculars.
      8x32’s are far more compact.

    Why didn’t you buy them in store when you were there and order from Amazon?

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Because I like to support the sellers on amazon too. Contrary to popular belive amazon is 90% 3rd part sellers. Me aing mom and pop stores or sellers like myself that buy products from manufacturers and the sell them on amazon. Just like any local store does. Amazon itself only sells about 3% of items on Amazon the rest are mini local stores that sell on amazon. I love amazon. Yes you get some China companies jumping in etc. But the majority of amazon are local stores selling on there.
