I’m sure the car owner knew what would need to be done to install a spoiler. If not, I’m positive they explained to the car owner the process it takes to put one on. It’s common sense and if you don’t know how a spoiler is installed onto a car, don’t get one.

Before anyone starts judging, the hole in the middle is for a long 80's antenna to be installed later so you can listen to the radio, cause' life is too short to drive boring cars..
Don't forget to put a rubber grommet above the washer on the inside of the trunk to keep it water tight and not damage your paint or more importantly in this case, your carbon fibre trunk lid. Just a tip 🤷♂️
The GTR was underwhelming af to me when i drove it, but this is my perspective- It'll never be able to show it's true potential on regular roadways, it's meant for circuits. The reason why I say underwhelming is because, take away the monster performance and the car has zero else to offer. There's better looking cars, way more comfortable cars with nicer interiors.. better SOUNDING cars for sure. This isn't 2009, the GTR has stiff comp now.

They break because they're dull and you push too hard among other reasons. And yeah I get that they cost $350 for a set but they do have lifetime warranty from certain vendors. But that still doesn't mean that they will have a spare set for special occasions.... To guess who has to pay for PDR on that dent

I always find it stupid when people do this to their vehicles. Literally just buy a second trunk to do mods on. I bought a reinforced carbon fiber trunk and thats how I mounted my spoiler. If you can afford a GTR, you can afford a second trunk.

Literally you can just take the dimensions of the spoiler and put in center to the car wherever level up or down you’d like, and it’s not rocket science to create a level/true spoiler.

A cable does not make sense as it would only pull in the downward direction, the same direction of force generated by the wing. It does not generate lift. It is not an airplane wing

All these comments are so painfully misinformed. 🤦♂️ 1. Trunk is aluminum, it wont rust. 2. Removing the OEM wing results in lots of preexisting holes. Yes you need to only drill 2 more, but those additional 2 holes will be covered back up by the oem wing if you want to go back. 3. The middle hole is already there from factory but, you need to drill one layer deeper to apply the APR provided plug/washer. It is NOT A KEYHOLE. Believe it or not, the physical keyhole for the trunk (only if electronics fail) is in the hidden passenger footwell. 4. The wing mount plates have a rubber padding under them, keeps water out of the trunk. Ugh... youtube commenters are the worst. To the maker: hope you enjoy! Good install!
a gtr isn’t boring, but big functional spoiler on a gtr is pretty cool. something like that, at speed, would make a big difference and the hole seems to be misunderstood, they installed something there, and i’m pretty sure they only drilled through that black wrap, the stock spoiler has a bolt there
@Patrick d'Argent washers exist so that when you tighten a bolt the force is spread out over a wider area and when you are tightening the bolt over the original surface, you do slightly damage it, a washer is there to minimize the damage and be a sacrificial surface. In the video you see a small layer or rubber, perhaps if it’s on tight, it will keep the water out.

People don't seem to understand that a spoiler like that can output over 150 lbs of downforce, this changes the characteristics of the car at high speed, and create a pretty noticeable difference in stability during high speed cornering.

Pfft! I built a perfectly functional one for my Daewoo out of MDF, and it works great! The added downforce helps hold it on the road up to speeds in excess of 50kmh! That may be because it weighs around 40 kilograms, and the double sided tape holding it to the trunk has only needed to be replaced 6 times out of the 4 times I've taken it for a drive. It gets lots of looks and attention, even from the po-po, and we nearly lost them when they chased us on their pedal bikes. After they were able to regain their composure from laughing so much,(which I thought was VERY rude!), they made us remove it and put it in the dumpster that was out the back of the D&D gaming lounge that's our hangout.

The middle hole is for the factory wing. APR sends the wing with a bolt and washer. You have to drill through the entire trunk lid to get a bolt to the other side. You don’t see the hole in this video because the wrap was covering it.

I would use a dagger bit when drilling through carbon fiber. It won't splinter.
Fastened with 10mm bolts .. looked a hell of a lot like m6 bolts to me !!
I think it's M8, but whatever. The bolts are way to long for that spoiler. If you want a perfect car, you might place some shorter bolts.

Nice . The bolts on the mounting brackets are a little long and would look better with shorter bolts when the trunk is opened
The middle hole is for the factory wing. APR sends the wing with a bolt and washer. You have to drill through the entire trunk lid to get a bolt to the other side. You don’t see the hole in this video because the wrap was covering it.
