Есть два пути в исполнительстве: когда исполняешь музыку, и когда исполняешься ею и музыка сама говорит через тебя. И более того, ты тогда сам преображаешься и являешь красоту и величие, к которым призван человек, во имя которых и существует музыка, благовествует, льется от сердца к сердцу. Музыка существует не для того, чтобы прозвучал Брамс или Бетховен, а чтобы благодаря им, благодаря самоотверженности и мастерству исполнителей зазвучала, заблистала симфония человеческого духа. Мне кажется, тот вечер подарил дыхание уходящей эпохи, где камертоном взаимоотношений между людьми были искренность, непосредственность, сердечность, товарищество, которых так не хватает сегодня, в век суперпрофессионализма и высоких технологий. Но ведь самая сложная технология и самая недосягаемая высота - сам человек! Да, исполнитель может добиться почти идеального исполнения. Но станет ли сам он от этого лучше? А это замечательно вдохновенное исполнение свидетельствует: человек может и должен становиться лучше! Красота поистине спасёт мир - красота музыки Брамса и Бетховена, Бернстайна и Венского филармонического оркестра, все той же симфонии, которая звучит в каждом из нас. Спасибо!
Ich habe das Gefühl, dass es Bernstein geschafft hat den Wienern den Stock rauszuziehen... das war eine super kombo von der man heute nur träumen kann.
It seems to me that Bernstein avoids all the Brahms pitfalls. In the third movement the marking is giocoso but so often it´s loud stodge. Not here though: Bernstein gets the accent at the beginning of that opening phrase and avoids all the ponderous weight that so often ruins this movement. The second movement is beautifully controlled and often light as a feather: no mean feat in orchestral Brahms. The Finale can so often drown in it´s own selfconscious complexity but Bernstein and the orchestra have such control (and love) for this music that it never seems overly fussy because they all understand what Brahms was trying to get at. I loved this performance. Bernstein was immensely pleased with the orchestra here. Sometimes he stopped conducting altogether and let them get on with it. Bernstein does that very rarely.

man... i dont know what to think. This interpretation made me cry. But this brahmstein is different.... Bernstein interpreted different.
Kleiber. By comparison, I find Bernstein teutonically heavy and pompous. He gets better towards the end, though, when it becomes more dramtic.
