Greetings from Scotland! Hi Cassie and thanks for highlighting this extremely important topic!
*Shell posted adjusted earnings of $19.29 billion for the full-year 2021. Even for the final quarter of 2021, Shell reported adjusted earnings of $6.4 billion! Shell CEO Ben van Beurden described 2021 as a “momentous year” for the company!*
*BP recorded the highest profit for eight years in 2021, reporting a profit of $12.8 billion in 2021, the highest in eight years!*
SO where is the justification for such crazy prices at the pumps? I'm damned if I know! Is this a case of "Ooooo, here's a great opportunity to push fuel prices up and we can blame the Russians! ??? Ask any historian and they will tell you that wars are good for the economy, in the short term.
I keep asking myself, exactly who are the stupid people in any war? I keep coming back with the same answer - We are! Us, the general population of any country. Big companies benefit, politicians benefit - no surprise there! Who suffers, who dies, EVERY time, ummm, that would be US, the ordinary "stupid" people, the cannon fodder! Does this sound kinda sick to you, because it IS sick! Wake up people! Stop sleepwalking in the dreams of the super rich manipulators!
Phew! That felt good Cassie! I must have a rant more often! 😂😂

Very interesting! It is good to know the Swedish point of view. I am running my own truck and doing regular work Poland-Sweden-Poland. Even in Poland (whole Eastern Europe) the fuel prices are crazy. The market is dominated by large Scandinavian players like DSV, DHL, NTG, Freja etc. I know you often consider us as an unfair competition but the truth is we are just doing our job delivering different goods to Sweden. We really have nothing to say about the freight rates. Nowadays the costs are so high and the freight rates so low that many owner-operators in Poland are forced to stop their operations. Big logistics companies pretend they can't do anything but how will they serve their customers without carriers? Today they ask you to transport their goods so cheaply that the question is not how much will you earn but how much will you lose. I am still doing my job and trying to make it profitable but the situation is worse and worse. When you ask the forwarding agents about the rates the answear is always "we are working to find the solution". Fuel prices and major logistics companies are killing the real trucking business.

Yes, it's the same way here in the US. I heard that oil production was down in the Middle East because of everyone staying off the roads during the worst of the pandemic, and now they're dragging their feet increasing production, deliberately to keep prices high.
But you've got a good point, every product we buy travels by truck at some point, so high fuel costs that drive up trucking costs will eventually go into the cost of everything we buy. Just be glad you're not an owner-operator, so your employer buys all the fuel and not you!

Yep, same here, in Romania (home of Dracula and Dacia cars, haha...), fuel prices have gone straight through the roof (equivalent of Eur1.64 for gasoline and Eur1.66 for diesel today, yep, cheaper than over there but here average people earn around the equivalent of Eur400-500 per month)
Agriculture is taking a double hit, from fuel and from lack of / very expensive fertilizers, which have also doubled in price. There is a huge chemical fertilizer factory in the town where I live and they have stopped production for almost half a year now because of high natural gas prices.
Food prices are also increasing, now they started to talk about cutting VAT on food, but cutting that 5% when prices have gone up by 50% won't help much...
I have a feeling we're gonna lose some weight these coming years...

Hey Cassie. Good rant, fuel prices here on the Isle of Wight has hit £2.00 a litre!! (Diesel) We don't even know why the Island has been singled out for higher prices, all our fuel comes by barge across the Solent from the refinery (roughly 3 miles)......Another striking fact is that the price of a barrel of oil has actually dropped by $0.20 per barrel, but as usual, when the oil goes up, so does the price at the pump, but when oil drops it takes either forever for the pump price to lower or in our case, goes up even higher!! Politicians are always looking for "reasons". Now it's the Russian aggression to blame, before it was Covid and then it was Brexit when we ran out of drivers!!! Is the world really starting to fall apart? or is it just me?........Looking forward to your next vlog, take care.

Yes the UK is just under two GB£'s, my car is just three years old and it now costs 20GB£ more to fill the fuel tank, I have had to think hard on what journeys I make and plan to do as many errands in one trip rather just as and when, most countries are feeling the pinch and the knock on cost's because of this. I can not indulge my hobby and my passion as they directly involve using petrol and it has been proven that hobbies are good for both mental and physical well being .
It has always been when fuel prices have risen they never have dropped they should have but the government and fuel producers have an unwritten agreement not to lower the prices, there are a lot of independents that have or going to park up until the prices stop rising or their income rises to counter the hike. The trouble with doing this is the truck is still costing you money even parked up, now one of my big rig recovery trucks cost's me £1k per week to do nothing as it still has to insured plus road excise duty along with the finance repayments so my five vehicles sitting still is still costing me nearly £3,700 per week plus drivers wages workshop expenses still have to be met.

They are predicting 30 kroner/L here in Norway soon... which is like 32 SEK. Not sure why the Nordics are getting screwed so much.

Good morning Cassie 😃. How are you today dear? Fuel prices have risen all around the globe. Here in BC Canada diesel is $1.98 a liter and was $1.43 a liter on January 1. We are told it is high because of the Russia Ukraine disputes aswell. I hope you will be able to keep working. You look beautiful 😍 💗. Stay safe. Love you 😍 💗 💓 💛

Here in the Pennsylvania US, the average diesel fuel price is $5.00 a gallon. Don't worry though the oil companies are making record profits.

Believe me, no farmer will quit farming, because fuel prices are up 50-60-70%. Fuel is not the biggest expense on a farm. It's rent, fertilizer, seeds, chemicals, labor and then is fuel.

Cassie, I think some of the Gas Stations are taking advantage to make more money with the situation. Our Federal and State Tax will be removed for 30 days. But I am not holding my breath of the gas prices coming down. They should investigate such businesses and charge them or take away their permits.

Hey Cassie. Great video. Agree with you 100%. Same here in the States where I'm from. Gas in my state is about $4.30 a gallon. Just crazy. Easy for our Government to put the blame on others than themselves. Affect us in many ways. It's a domino effect. Just sucks, but we got to do our best to get by these trying times. Please stay safe out there. Always enjoy your videos/vlogs

Gas and Diesel prices in the west coast of the US are extremely high right now. Higher than I have ever seen. Higher than in 2008. I hope things get better because right now they are not sustainable. We need to get off oil and onto something else ASAP. I don't care what it is, hydrogen, electric, vegetable oil, doesn't matter, but we need to do it faster than we have been doing it. This is a wake up call.

Our prices in the last month has gone from $1.40/litre to $2.25/litre for 98 octane petrol ,in Sydney, even the price per barrel hasn't moved much ..certainly price gouging by the companies, diesel cost is similar, we also facing higher costs and transport costs are high due to distances

We’re definitely in weird times! It’s not just the road fuel going up but they have changed the rules around red diesel in the uk. It’s means loads of people are having to switch to white diesel to work (like construction company’s) also the price of red diesel is over £1 a litre…I bought some this time last year at 55p a litre 🤦‍♂️😭

I rode a Harley 280 miles (450.616 kilometers) for $20.00 dollars (192.26 SEK) to and from work. Doubled the cost in a car through the winter , but now it has more than doubled and it is still rising with no end in sight. If you got it a trucker brought it!! And the fuel cost will slowly appear in the cost of everything buy. I was going to a store and figured out the cost in fuel for the distance and their delivery charge and decided to have it shipped as it is cheaper currently.

I don't know how to convert into Krona or liters but last year I was paying about $3 per gallon of diesel. Just the last two weeks the price jumped $1.50 per gallon in 1 week up to $5. I know others are paying more than that in the US. I get a fuel surcharge for the company I contact with si it doesn't effect my over all expense like others because I average 8 miles per while most in my company average 5.8. You right in that it effects the consumer and farmers the most.

I work as a Scania Salesman in Germany, and I can comfirm that daily business is becoming harder for my customers by each day. The reason for this is not only the fuel price, but also the availability of the vehicles. During the last 12 months, Scania has increased their prices for new vehicles by aprox. 30%, making a R450A4x2NA to cost 135.000€ instead of 110.000€ for the same order last year. And there is probably more to come. Second thing is the delivery time. If you purchase a Tractor today, it will be produced and delivered with a waiting time of aprox.13-14 months, forcing the customers to extend usage of their current vehicles which obviously are more likely for problems such as engine failures. This forces them to spend more money on maintenance. In my Opinion, the current fuel price is just the top of the iceberg of the problems that the transport industry is suffering.

I will unfortunately have to sell my car (530d bmw) it's not the cheapest in terms of fuel economy unless you drive long distances. But I am in need of that car and it has been the best car i've ever owned and now I can't afford it since a full tank costs me roughly 1700kr. Thankfully I have a brother who is a manager at toyota from who I can buy for a discount but it shouldn't have to be like this. It shouldn't matter what car you drive the prices are too high.
I'm a healthcare worker and cannot take the bus everyday or I will be late for work. Also a sidenote the salary of a healthcare worker (undersköterska) is not very high at all.
Thanks for the content, lots of smiles everyday 🙌
