    Watching this, I really do think those in London don’t have the foggiest idea of what the country think or want.

      The old cliche of a London bubble. London is a city of over 9 million people and has some of the most deprived boroughs in the entire country. It's a city made up of people of entirely different life experiences and thoughts so maybe stop with this London doesn't have a clue as if it's a one giant hive mind

    What Marr and Fry can’t cope with is that they are less intelligent. Fry and Marr “ talk” for a living. Musk “ walks the talk” ie he creates products,services and jobs . Fry and Marr long lost touch with reality. You would get them “ kipping down” at the factory- they built!

      Yes, he makes the right noises etc to give that impression, perhaps quoting an author or book that nobody has ever heard of...or using phrases to give the impression of intelligence, but that's all it is, smoke and mirrors.

      To be fair compared to the disasters Tory party. Stammer was the only option. Marr has never hidden which way he leans and has tried to be fair to all sides but it felt like the Tory party were doing everything they can to lose. The New Stateman made the right choice by endorsing Stammers Labour. Who knew what the future in tell.

      Starmer is not a politician. He’s a prosecutor. He did it very successfully as opposition leader as he turned the House of Commons into his personal courtroom to prosecute the missteps, mistakes, peccadilloes and errors of the government of the time. Now he is in charge he is beginning to show the same frailties of those he so successfully prosecuted. Little wonder the tactics he employed are now being deployed against him himself. He’s leaden footed and I worry about how he will perform over the next period.

      Electoral reform? The bills could have been written already and passed through parliament for scrutiny. Instead we get more of the same BS we just put up with for the last 14 years.
      "We are going to smash the gangs". Really? The conservatives tried that and also threw money at the problem and it did not work for them. They did however at least come up with a plan, rwanda, that at the time of release, actually lowered the numbers of people coming in. The threat alone was lowering the numbers coming in.
      I am not a conservative. I voted labour. I doubt i will again.

    The public elected Labour because they wanted change sadly we aren't seeing any at all. Starmer is all for the rich and has no empathy or compassion for those of us who are struggling. He says the long term sick should get out to work not once does he address the fact that if you have long term illness you just won't get a job because employers won't employ people with health problems.

    Musk is a genuine genius and a man of integrity whereas Fry is a media creation. I was waiting for a specific criticism but all we got was slurs without substance. Many English people recognise Musk's comments as entirely accurate.

      Fry is a 'fake' intellectual and, in my book, he certainly isn't one of the heavyweights.
      Yes, he makes the right noises etc to give that impression, perhaps quoting an author or book that nobody has ever heard of...or using phrases to give the impression of intelligence, but that's all it is, smoke and mirrors.

    I like Stephen Fry but sadly he has almost no idea of how most people live and think. The wealth Mr Fry has means the storm of the world never crosses his threshold. This conversation wouldn't be out of place in a gentleman's club circa 1930-neither men are interested in normal people. His digs at Musk some it up. Elon Musk is allowing people to see how they are being exploited and they are not pleased. Mr Fry is an intelligent man but only within certain terms of reference and none of them take account of the sheer levels of lying from the left wing who embody malevolence but always attribute it to everyone else.

    North Londoners are equally as snobby as the American coastal elite, about provincial and country people here in Britain.They fly through it quickly in case they catch something and put on fake country accents to amuse their mates on return. And they love to finger up to Brexit rather than help their own country. It annoys the heck out of the average person and these two have no idea how out of touch they seem. Smug doesn't even capture it and I used to love them both.
