I love this video John. It
brings back memories of my childhood. My father had an agricultural
    contracting business in the 1950s / 60s. He didn't have a traction
engine but did have several tractors and various machines including
two threshing machines. The frustration of aligning the pulleys was a
    challenge, especially on uneven ground.

Did you ever go to haigh steam rally near Bolton? I camped there every year with my bow top gypsy wagon from around 1996 until 2004ish when it came to an end. Lots of steam men there

Thanks for posting this. It must seem strange to see your younger self and your son! I remember 1996 so well for many reasons. It seems strange now how dated it all looks - even the contemporary cars glimpsed look old fashioned now! It looks like you got the videography skills from your Dad! Did you only just realise he had this footage?
Ps thought one of them was going to lose a hand trying to put that belt on!

Great footage John. Amazing how long ago 96 really is, doesn't seem it somehow. I wonder if that bloke is still trying to get that belt to run! He should have called it a day whilst he still had all of his digits. I don't think he was cut out for it. I hope this footage brings a smile to your Dad.
