    Nice bit of Nostalgia there John, thanks... Wasn't so long after that, that some of the lads started coming to the Victorian Extravaganza in Llandudno (my home town).

      I would say all of them. Unless owners are a old and struggling to find any younger guys to drive them. None of them would have gone to scrap since. It was the sixties that were when they were disappearing

    Great video, John and Edd! The crop of machines looks quite different than the ones in your current rally videos. Seems odd, where could they have gone? Both you and your dad, as well as your son(?) are looking quite dapper and are obviously having fun. We can sure see where you got the bug for this...

    John,
    What a great time you guys must have had! That's really neat that you converted those movies to TH-cam. Portable video tape recorders were just getting a start then but 8mm film was still also available. Which format did your Dad use? That was really a treat! Thanks so much to you and your Dad!
    Have a good one!
    Dave

      @martinvernon4571 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Huh, no mobiles then, the first call I made on a mobile was in 86 (ok, it was a Luggable and it wasn't mine) but I had a mobile of my own in 93

      well sure they existed, rockets to the moon existed in 1969 but everyone didnt go around shopping in them!

      My point is these days you can't go anywhere without seeing people using their phones. Phones were around but not like today.

      maybe in another 20 years we will look back and wonder why everyone stares at this small black box in their hand all day

    That's really nice John, you looked dapper. Who is the youngster with you in the footage?

  • @incubatork

    I can see you were drooling at the sight even then, and not a swearword in sight. lol. when i was studying for my skipper ticket in south shields nautical colledge there was a vaux horse and cart still delivering barrels in the town. On another note what would one of those engines cost nowadays to buy?
