We have some very similar footage at "home". When I lived in Darlington my Dad took my brother and I to a steam rally in 1970 or '71. Big affair, I don't remember where it was but it featured all the standard steam engine stuff, static "modern" stuff and old bikes, the usual. Also had a demonstration of the new Range Rover dashing up the side of a hill and it leaving the ground as it crested the top, gave the passengers concussion, IIRC. I think the grass track motorcycle races really held my attention though. Thanks for sharing.
Lovely video by your dad John. Brings back memories of setting up the drive belt on my mates Brown and May portable, to work my Siebe Gorman divers air pump. Loads of folks would stand and 'tut tut' and offer 'advice' when getting the set up. Non of it usually based on any practical experieince of driving 'on the belt' ! Happy days.
