Haha I have to. Content has become more competitive
Hi, it’s me, your loved one! I’ll take that monsters now thanks
😅😅 come…
👍 Wonderful propagation! Hundred percent success! Thank you very much for sharing.
❤️❤️
I heard that when you propagate in the water, the plant produces a hormone that promotes growth, so add water slowly overtime so keep the water❤️👏
Yesss
I think i found my new fave channel 💕

Thank you. Welcome to the channel 🙌🏽
I chopped my monster a year ago and cut back a 3rd of her roots to slow her down a bit. 😊 Gifted a large piece and kept one lol!
They make such good gifts… but yeah I wish mine would slow down too they can grow too fast
I've been watching You are 3 hour videos.
I love them it's like going to a movie. I pop some popcorn and sit back and relax. You are so informative and funny at the same time. I love your new house.
Thank you ❤️
Looks more like “FAILURE TO CLIMB RESULTS IN P.U.N.I.S.H.M.E.N.T.”✂️✂️✂️✂️✂️✂️✂️✂️✂️✂️ Those snips looked like TORTURE, LOL. Glad to see all the cuttings took root❤
Haha actually that was going through my head

You’re welcome
So easy to watch, but 😢😢😢

Beautiful lovely plant❤❤mine is died 😢

Cutting actually do better In separate containers, it can work with all of them but it is quicker with just one plant in the water.
This is because plant release chemicals which stimulate root growth in cuttings. Some of my cutting get mushy, and they don’t if you separate them.
I need new friends. I want plants!
😀😀
Can never have to many Monsteras hehe 😍
❤️😀
You have very fortunate friends
I hope they think so 😀
Ugh your so handsome 🤩
Man I was gifted a HUGE monstera cutting that had been growing in water... It's not doing amazing, I think I'm gonna try this..
😀😀
I wish I had a “plant friend” to share with…
Back when things were still sorta on lockdown/people weren’t really going out yet I would go to a lot of yard sales and would find freebies to take home or cheap cuttings for sale or trade. But now that the lockdown is over-over, not so much anymore. People just stopped being “plant people” it seems…
Yeah people are not willing to spend as much time with their plants 🥲 but we still have way more plant growers after covid than before.
That’s when I did when someone in my family knocked over my Monstera and broke it, I cut off all the cuttings and put them in a very tall vase. That keeps them from falling over. I put them on top of my aquarium by using leftover dog gates. They always have extra pieces and they are made out of steel. It allows you to keep your plants in a high humidity area on top of the aquarium I ended up with five plants, because my Monstera was still very small at the time I had only had it two or three months now I have lots of babies
❤️❤️
After you cut them are you supposed to let them sit out and calus over before putting them in water?
I dont. I put in water immediately
Forgot to mention letting the callous dry out first. Ive put cuttings in water and theyve always rotted on me 😭
Ive never let cuttings callous 🥹 it might have been other factors why yours have rotted
Je ne pourrais pas couper mon Montsera ni aucune plante ça me fait mal comme si c'était moi qu'on coupais 😢
Childbirth is painful, but the life it gives is so beautiful and essential for the longevity of the species 😀
Wow your monstera plant is so beautiful and this video is very informative 😊😍
I ordered one large sized monstera plant and i hope i can take care of this plant without killing it😃
At what time (or age) would you suggest to propagate the monstera plant. Im yet to receive my plant.😊
You can propagate it anytime… they are quite tough. I would let it acclimatize into your home environment first though, maybe 6-8 weeks after caring for it right
When we propagate then does the mother plant get new single leaves from single branch or does it split into 2 new branches
Because I want to make my monstera bushy
It depends, for sure its 1 but I’ve had up to 3 heads before. Depending on your environment, and the health of the plant.
Theres actually a technique… of notching right above a node to encourage new branching. Perhaps you can consider looking into it.
Do you callous the ends or just drop it straight into water?
I drop it straight, but I know people who swear by callousing
So only when propagating you change the water every 3 weeks? Is it bad to change the water daily for your water plants? My plants are giving off new leaves like crazy , my Alocasia , Adansonii , a leaf every week. Peace lily. I sometimes change the water 2xs a day .
I believe plants release a type of chemical into the water that activates rooting hormones. Changing water often washes away this important chemical. I would love to do a test to see if thats true though! Maybe an upcoming episode idea
Rooting plants release water soluble rooting hormone into the water to help encourage root growth! Thats why bunching them together helps them during water propogation!!
Yes! Some people dont believe it but I swear by it.
My water propagations tend to fail and never grow any roots 😢
Whoaaa… maybe not enough light, or too much water? Type in “onlyplants water propagation” in the youtube searchbar for an episode where I give tips to increase success
Questions, I have a Flamingo lily she looks sick I re-potted it still looks the same
Its sickness could be attributed to many possibilities. Sometimes repotting is not enough to fix the problem, in fact, a sick or stressed out plant may even degrade if repotted.
@@onlyplants Thank you
Was kann ich zum Düngen nehmen, da meine Pflanze mit kleinen Fliegen befallen ist
The small flies may be fungus gnats. They usually live in soil that is too wet.
1) Try to keep the top soil dry for weeks at a time, by watering only from the bottom of the pot (bottom watering)
2) you can find slow release pesticide in your area to put on the top soil, the chemicals will slowly seep into the soil to kill the babies of the flies. But make sure you have no children or pets around.
Can I direct put it on the soil?
Yes you can, if you are confident or experienced or adventurous! I do it sometimes but water has a much higher success rate and easier care (i was travelling too much to keep an eye out)
You need a moss pole, that poor thing
Yess 🙊
Hi! I did this exactly with mine… the cuttings rooted with 100% success, but all the new growth is tiny baby leaves with no fenestrations. Even the mother plant is kicking out a bunch of baby leaves but they’re all tiny 😢 could it be from not enough light?? Thank you for your time!! I love your channel 🙌🏼
It could be a lot of factors:
1) maturity of the stem for the cutting
2) how much nutrients were store in those stem to begin with/health of the cutting
3) nutrient provided when potting them up
4) light level
5) absence of pest/disease
6) humidity levels (but i find this factor is almost negligible)
@@onlyplants ok! i didn't know all of those could play a part. The leaves all look healthy but maybe a lighter green than i'd like, so maybe its both nutrients and light. I saw another video that showed someone pruned the baby leaves to let the plant send more energy to the bigger ones... maybe that would help. Ill try more light, nutrients and humidity for sure (I live in the desert😁) Thank you so much !!
My cutting has root rot. It had two aerial roots, one fell of, the second one has healthy water roots (atleast i think so)
Whoa I hope the second roots hold out ok
Go get something called Hydrogaurd, and I believe it's made by "Botanicare." .5ml which is the same as 1/2 milliliter each time you change the water out of 1 quart worth of water. You can mix by the gallon as well. Just follow the directions and this will keep the roots clear and clean of root rot and any other pathogens. Hydrogaurd works fantastic at keeping the water clear of pathogens. It's made from a beneifial Baccilus bacteria I believe, it adds life. Anyways, it's good stuff, you can even use it in soil or just water. Hope this helps.
How come you all monsteras are so lucious and divine and keep growing?! I have had a new leaf in 2 years, I'm really considering just throwing that shiiit away 😒
Wooh that is slow… I would adjust the care, eliminate possibility of pests, and also fertilize lightly
Can I get some of your cuttings?
If you want to pick them up sure haha
The problem is I'm from the Philippines, huhuhu
Mine rots in water 😢
Oh nooo. Maybe not enough light?
My plant leaves are not splitting don’t know why
1) its aerial roots need to be rooted into the potting media or onto a moss pole, or a wall. This is when they invest in bigger leaves that split.
2) it may also be insufficient light
@@onlyplants thank you I will check it out
Did you use distilled water?
Nope just tap water. But keep in mind every city has different minerals in their tap water
@@onlyplants Our water is terrible. It's one of the oldest water treatment facilities in my state. I don't trust it for my family. So, no way I'd trust it for my plants.
Someone give me one baby
If you were closeby I wouldve gifted you one 💌
Tried it and it rotted.
Dont give up. Try again when you have the chance.
- make sure the plant is well fertilized and cared for and pest-free weeks before cutting.
- use less water, dont change it often
- give it very bright but indirect light
- if possible keep near where it lived before so its not stressed to new environment
@@onlyplants I think I will try to air layer. It was a nice long stalk with three nodes and all of them rotted. Even the one I put in moss. Thanks for responding.
People don’t like to share or cut their plants!! Especially monstera
Sharing feels really good though! Its nice to know a part of your work live in someones home.
I keep killing my Monstera Deliciosa. The roots rot away everytime.
It could be too much water or not enough light - or the combination of the two 🙈
@@onlyplants I'm trying. Wish me luck🤞
