1:30:39 It's actually really weird, they swapped mr X and Nemesis around. In the originals, mr X only appeared here and there, while Nemesis stalked you the whole time. In the remakes, mr X chases you around the police station, while Nemesis only shows up for a minute then leaves.
Well, not the "whole time" but much more often than Mr.X for sure & through multiple areas that did make it feel like it was the whole time. But yeah; their roles feel switched in the remakes for sure & Mr X gets that "stalked by Nemesis" vibe much more than Nemesis lol

Yeah imo it's a shame, Mr X felt like a cool change for the RE2 remake and when they announced they were doing an RE3 remake it was like "oh cool, what are they gonna do with Nemesis then, that could be really exciting cause the part in Racoon city in the original is quite non linear and having a roaming Nemesis would be sick" and then the answer was they just made one of the least linear RE games (for the first half at least) into a fully linear actiony setpiece game.

Not just two areas, more like half a dozen. The graveyard (along with the giant Gravedigger worm boss), park, clock tower interior, gas station interior, newspaper office, and sales office were all omitted. They also completely changed the unique Dead Factory area into NEST 2, which is just a clone of the NEST lab from RE2. Jill also doesn't get to visit the RPD, which Nemesis chased her through in the original. I also wasn't a fan of how seemingly superhuman Jill is in the remake, carrying giant rail guns and surviving falls from tall buildings with barely a scratch on her. She was a more believable heroine in the original game.
@@Rocket1377 They cut like 70% of uptown and downtown too. And the creepy park, the backtracking, the alternate paths, the ending with Barry, and the helicopter boss fight. They also cut Brad's death to nemesis, The Mercenaries, and 90% of the unlockable outfits for Jill. Also, no freeze rounds or brain sucker enemies and no drain demos after the powerplant. RE3 Remake is an absolute mockery to the fans of the original.

I guess Capcom compensated by having him eliminate Tyrell, but the Brad death scene in OG RE3 is so iconic. One of the best cutscenes in video game history. Only to be led up by a choice based mini boss battle with Nemesis outside the RPD. Capcom fumbled the remake so much. It's a shame.
And I don't like how Jill is just plain rude and smug. Instead of being scared of Nemesis running and fighting for her life, she just finds him an annoyance. "Bitch can't even swim", seriously?
Can't wait for you to play RE4! You'll pick up on all the gameplay mechanics as you go (like you do with everything you play), but the one bit of advice I would give you in advance is that you don't have to be _nearly_ as cautious and conservative with ammo and resource management in 4 as you do with the earlier RE titles that you've played so far. It's much more of an action adventure experience and they are quite generous with supplies throughout :)

Yay, glad you made it :) Want to learn more about S.T.A.R.S., Jill and Chris, Spencer Mansion? Then RE1 Remake is the best option here - it is a perfect REpresentation of the original classic game.
Jill and especially Carlos are much better in the remake, Nemesis itself is a lot worse though, it’s much scarier in the original, chases you Mr X style regularly and doesn’t devolve until the final act. Plus the original covered more of the city - there’s one bit in a park with a giant worm that would have been great to see included - and featured several branching points where you’d see different outcomes and/or areas depending how you reacted.
I love the void tendrils coming off from the Knight in your makeup, you did such a good job! It's a shame RE3 is so short, I'm loving your playthroughs of these games.
Great to see your finale to this installment. If you want more interesting backstory on what’s to come, best to play the RE1 remake. It also has a zap system where you can choose which character you want to play. Then you’ll def be set for the RE4 remake. Enjoying your RE journey.
By zap system I think you’re referring to RE0 which you could switch between characters at the press of a button. Not something you can do in RE1 as you choose between Chris and Jill at the start.

It's good to know that you liked the game, a lot of people try to paint it as one of the worst RE game but that's far from the truth, although it's true it made a lot of mistake cutting things out from the original, but still a good experience and important to the story and lore of the saga. 53:38 if you haven't noticed, those things in those tubes are Tyrants, they looked as Mr.X but deformed. Actually Umbrella has a lot more of them out there so those are failed experiments.
That's the thing, as a game on its on, it's quit decent and that's why Amber liked, but as a remake of the original it's very lackluster and disappointing as it cuts so many things that the fans adored

This was awesome! I'm so excited for Resident Evil 4!!! It is a much longer game and I think you will have a blast with it...I also think you would like RE Village...I didn't play RE7 or Village for a long time because they were 1st person, but after trying them I actually loved them so much!

I do get why people are not happy with RE3 remake since it cuts a lot of content from the original and changes some other stuff, too. And while I do think RE2 is the overall better experience - I've gotta give RE3R credit for being just such a fun game. RE2 has the better survival horror atmosphere but I always found the gameplay frustrating in certain areas. Never felt like that in RE3, it was a much smoother experience. I also love the soundtrack, Jill and Carlos as characters. So I think they are both great games. Can't wait for you to play RE4! Because that game is just bonkers. In a good way.

Great play through Amber. The remake does have its good qualities but I would recommend playing the original too. RE4R I think you’ll love. RE7 I would say is the scariest of the series, not one of my favorites I’ll admit, but watching people play it is fun to watch.

Good job incinerating Nemmy! 😂 Glad you enjoyed RE3R, it’s not a bad game by any means, but it really is a disappointing remake. For me it’s because of how they mishandled Nemesis. He’s one of the most iconic and well-loved monsters, and where with Mr X they took what people loved about it and made it even better and way scarier, they really did the opposite with Nemesis. If you do play the originals and see how he behaves and what your encounters with him are like, the criticisms might be more understandable. Iconic locations and set pieces from the original were also just not in the remake, which is a shame. Interesting to hear you say that you think the stalkers should be able to follow you into the safe rooms, I actually think having rooms where you’re safe from them is perfect from a design perspective, it’s part of what keeps the games so fun to play and the pacing so snappy. Trolling Mr X is fun 😂 I would haaaate any kind of hide-and-seek element in these games, it’d totally gut the pacing imo. I’M SO EXCITED for RE4R 😄❤️ it’s such a treat, straight up the best Resident Evil game! 😌
Hi, In my opinion RE3 Remake is a decent game but a lackluster Remake, in the original game there are more locations to explore, better puzzles and Nemesis stalks the player in a similar way to the Tyrant form RE2 Remake. The original also has a decision system that slightly alters how the events of the game and the endings are going to be. If you liked Jill, I recommend you to play Resident Evil HD Remaster, she is one of the main characters in that game. On the other hand, Claire's story continues in Resident Evil Code Veronica, but that game is old and does not have a Remake. Leon's story continues in RE4, both the original game and the Remake are really good. However, I recommend you to play the Remake because its gameplay is smoother.
C:V is the only other one of the older RE games that I think is viable for a remake. 5 has some pretty terrible racist cultural stuff ingrained in it, and the co-op system would take a fair amount of work to implement for little gain, while 6 is ALL co-op and is the worst of any of them and doesn't really have much fan demand to see remade.
As someone who loves the original game, I still really love this game, I actually like it better than 2 remake. People’s reasons for hating it are so contrived and make no sense to me.
I think that's what alot of people were upset about .the game was short with little replay value . and for $70. Game at $50 peaple probably wouldn't have complained as much . but I still enjoyed it hole heartedly and really enjoy watching you enjoy it to. Keep in keeping on ❤😊
Some of the reasons this game gets flak is because of cut content (like the removal of the entire clock tower area and the "choices" mechanic), it's relatively short and very linear after the first area, the lack of any puzzles, and the changes they made to Nemesis in this. In the OG game there was no "dog" mode. Unfortunately Carlos is a one-and-done character like Sheva from RE5 who was also a fantastic character.
Good Playthru, can't avoid getting the itch of seeing someone carrying every weapon and shooting themselves in the foot for the lack of space when key items are needed (I mentioned something about it on the RE2 videos) and can't say everyone makes that mistake (old school resi gamers knows what inventory management was in this games and how it is applied even in the remakes) as for this game, I don't dislike it, nor do I think it's bad or too short, the original wasn't super long to be honest but yeah the remake did cut many special events, and after a long time I finally got the platinum, would be fun to see the RE4 Playthru as well
Every playthrough I see of an RE game comes with the same very amusing frustration. Hearing the complaint of "I have no ammo" while possessing enough gunpowder to blow up a small building... Or craft an arsenal. And, of course, hoarding healing items for "when they are needed" while needing them desperately, and having a small deciduous forest of herbs in their item box. Why not heal... ever?
Just finished watching this. Can't wait for RE4 and RE1 remakes. Also RE3make is really fun to play BUT as a remake it kind of fails. It cut out lots of locations and scenes, as well as some gameplay features that made the original stand out. Also can't stand the way they made Jill so whiny and Nemesis feel like such a non threat
As someone who hasn't played these games but has watched multiple playthroughs of each, Nemesis is honestly a bit of a letdown compared to Mr X. The latter is very menacing, and when he gets his hands on Leon, he is only stopped from crushing his head either with a truck or falling debris (don't know if its different in Claire scenario). By contrast, Nemesis has Jill in a hold constantly, and just throws her around rather than ending her, which I think diminishes the threat it poses.
Personally Jill is my favourite resi character and is probably one of my favourite video game characters. Even as a kid I always played her in 1 and Nemesis was my favourite resi until 4 came out, so I didn't mind this just because it's Jill. That said though it missed a lot out from the original but if you never played Nemesis then it's really not an issue. In terms of length the original was just a spin off of 2. In today's world it's essentially an expansio. The real RE3 is Code Veronica but they wanted a number title on the PS1, so 3 was always short. That said it actually has the most replay value because you can unlock various things through playing the game such as infinite ammo pistols, infinite ammo assault rifle, coins that stack and let you do more damage ect. It's really not as bad as it's made out but it just wasn't anywhere near as good as 2 and as result became one of them games that's cool to dislike. Don't get me wrong it's definitely the worst one out of the remakes but it's definitely not bad
I never finished nemesis, I played it before but my save files corrupted and at the time I never got around to starting over. However I tend to prefer linear games and I love action games (for reference Uncharted is like my favourite long form series) so while I wouldn't say this one is objectively better than 2 remake, it's way more my speed. I loved this one WAY more, 2 really bored me actually. And 4 Remake is like a happy medium between the two in my eyes, slower and spookier than this one, but more action and more engaging for me than 2 and having more location changes which I really enjoy too.

will you be visiting RE1r? To see where it all started... its very different from these remakes, as it uses tank controls and fixed cameras. But its always fun seeing people experiencing one of the most loved remakes in all of videogames, for the first time.

I don’t even know I haven’t played the original. I haven’t played any of the originals. I wasn’t into gaming until later in life, and only just got into resident evil when the newer generation games or coming out.😅 graphics baby❤👊

Great play through Amber. The remake does have its good qualities but I would recommend playing the original too. RE4R I think you’ll love. RE7 I would say is the scariest of the series, not one of my favorites I’ll admit, but watching people play it is fun to watch.
Really enjoyed this series. I hadn't seen this game played in awhile and had a great time watching. Hope you play RE4 and the RE4 DLC. I think you will have some fun with those, too.

Good job incinerating Nemmy! 😂 Glad you enjoyed RE3R, it’s not a bad game by any means, but it really is a disappointing remake. For me it’s because of how they mishandled Nemesis. He’s one of the most iconic and well-loved monsters, and where with Mr X they took what people loved about it and made it even better and way scarier, they really did the opposite with Nemesis. If you do play the originals and see how he behaves and what your encounters with him are like, the criticisms might be more understandable. Iconic locations and set pieces from the original were also just not in the remake, which is a shame.
Interesting to hear you say that you think the stalkers should be able to follow you into the safe rooms, I actually think having rooms where you’re safe from them is perfect from a design perspective, it’s part of what keeps the games so fun to play and the pacing so snappy. Trolling Mr X is fun 😂 I would haaaate any kind of hide-and-seek element in these games, it’d totally gut the pacing imo.

Hi, In my opinion RE3 Remake is a decent game but a lackluster Remake, in the original game there are more locations to explore, better puzzles and Nemesis stalks the player in a similar way to the Tyrant form RE2 Remake. The original also has a decision system that slightly alters how the events of the game and the endings are going to be. If you liked Jill, I recommend you to play Resident Evil HD Remaster, she is one of the main characters in that game.
On the other hand, Claire's story continues in Resident Evil Code Veronica, but that game is old and does not have a Remake. Leon's story continues in RE4, both the original game and the Remake are really good. However, I recommend you to play the Remake because its gameplay is smoother.
C:V is the only other one of the older RE games that I think is viable for a remake. 5 has some pretty terrible racist cultural stuff ingrained in it, and the co-op system would take a fair amount of work to implement for little gain, while 6 is ALL co-op and is the worst of any of them and doesn't really have much fan demand to see remade.

I think that's what alot of people were upset about .the game was short with little replay value . and for $70. Game at $50 peaple probably wouldn't have complained as much . but I still enjoyed it hole heartedly and really enjoy watching you enjoy it to. Keep in keeping on ❤😊
Some of the reasons this game gets flak is because of cut content (like the removal of the entire clock tower area and the "choices" mechanic), it's relatively short and very linear after the first area, the lack of any puzzles, and the changes they made to Nemesis in this. In the OG game there was no "dog" mode. Unfortunately Carlos is a one-and-done character like Sheva from RE5 who was also a fantastic character.

Good Playthru, can't avoid getting the itch of seeing someone carrying every weapon and shooting themselves in the foot for the lack of space when key items are needed (I mentioned something about it on the RE2 videos) and can't say everyone makes that mistake (old school resi gamers knows what inventory management was in this games and how it is applied even in the remakes) as for this game, I don't dislike it, nor do I think it's bad or too short, the original wasn't super long to be honest but yeah the remake did cut many special events, and after a long time I finally got the platinum, would be fun to see the RE4 Playthru as well

Every playthrough I see of an RE game comes with the same very amusing frustration. Hearing the complaint of "I have no ammo" while possessing enough gunpowder to blow up a small building... Or craft an arsenal.
And, of course, hoarding healing items for "when they are needed" while needing them desperately, and having a small deciduous forest of herbs in their item box. Why not heal... ever?

Just finished watching this. Can't wait for RE4 and RE1 remakes. Also RE3make is really fun to play BUT as a remake it kind of fails. It cut out lots of locations and scenes, as well as some gameplay features that made the original stand out. Also can't stand the way they made Jill so whiny and Nemesis feel like such a non threat

As someone who hasn't played these games but has watched multiple playthroughs of each, Nemesis is honestly a bit of a letdown compared to Mr X. The latter is very menacing, and when he gets his hands on Leon, he is only stopped from crushing his head either with a truck or falling debris (don't know if its different in Claire scenario). By contrast, Nemesis has Jill in a hold constantly, and just throws her around rather than ending her, which I think diminishes the threat it poses.

Personally Jill is my favourite resi character and is probably one of my favourite video game characters. Even as a kid I always played her in 1 and Nemesis was my favourite resi until 4 came out, so I didn't mind this just because it's Jill. That said though it missed a lot out from the original but if you never played Nemesis then it's really not an issue. In terms of length the original was just a spin off of 2. In today's world it's essentially an expansio. The real RE3 is Code Veronica but they wanted a number title on the PS1, so 3 was always short. That said it actually has the most replay value because you can unlock various things through playing the game such as infinite ammo pistols, infinite ammo assault rifle, coins that stack and let you do more damage ect. It's really not as bad as it's made out but it just wasn't anywhere near as good as 2 and as result became one of them games that's cool to dislike. Don't get me wrong it's definitely the worst one out of the remakes but it's definitely not bad
Yeah, I'd more describe it as the "least great" of the remakes.
I never finished nemesis, I played it before but my save files corrupted and at the time I never got around to starting over. However I tend to prefer linear games and I love action games (for reference Uncharted is like my favourite long form series) so while I wouldn't say this one is objectively better than 2 remake, it's way more my speed. I loved this one WAY more, 2 really bored me actually. And 4 Remake is like a happy medium between the two in my eyes, slower and spookier than this one, but more action and more engaging for me than 2 and having more location changes which I really enjoy too.
