Great job, this thing has turned out really nice. Also, thank you for doing such detailed videos on the 6-speed rebuild. I rebuilt my engine a few years ago and while I had it out I took basically everything else off the car and refreshed it just like you did. Only thing I didn't get deep into rebuilding was the transmission so it was cool to see that part and really educational. Honestly, the 6-speed is the most intimidating mechanical piece on the STI imo so I give you a lot of credit for doing that whole job yourself. It's a procedure that is not well documented like longblock rebuilds are. Good luck with your ride, I hope you really enjoy driving it soon!
Always coming in with the quality content. Loving this build series. I unfortunately just lost my bugeye wagon to a flood where I’m at in Vermont. The engine was out on a stand in the shop so it survived, and I’ve found a bugeye sedan shell to put it in. Videos like this are getting me ready to tackle that project, keep up the great work!
Dang man, really sorry to hear about your car flooding like that! That's such a bummer. That's awesome you found a new shell for it though. Was it hard to find without a bunch of rust where you live? We are moving to NH here in about a week and I imagine my days of not have to worry about rust are coming to an end.
Yeah I think they just tend to have noisy valve trains. I've heard the ticking can be more pronounced with upgraded valve train parts as well. Not sure if that's true...
My Wrx valve train sounds louder on the same side which was a concern until another Subaru owner said it was normal, but congrats on the first start bro.first starts are always a bit scary
Yeah, it was definitely nerve wracking to say the least. I was just thinking, "what if I missed something building the block and it grenades immediately!"
Nice work. Be sure you get the top radiator hose the perfect length. If not, the torque of the engine will stretch it into the power steering pulley and start slicing it little by little. One of the cleanest engine bays I've ever seen. I also recommend a e-tune by DrunkMann tuning.
I've used DrunkMann for almost every single one of the Subarus I've built. He does exceptional work! I didn't know that about the rad hose, so thanks for the info. I'm thinking I may order up an OEM one now and ditch the mishimoto thats on there.
And don't forget to get the proper rad cap or may start overheating.. ask me how I know. I forgot to ask if you removed all the banjo bolts filter screens. Great progress bud!
I just installed the brand new koyorad cap that I was waiting on so we're good to go now! And yes I pulled all of those dumb ass filter screens that like to blow engines out! Thanks for looking out!!
I learn something new every time you post a video!! Thank you so much for this series. Question, on the fuel pressure section, do you use dampeners on your vacuum lines?
I'm unclear what you mean exactly. Vacuum lines and fuel lines are different. I don't have any dampers installed on my fuel system plumbing. Just an aftermarket FPR. Never used them with an FPR and haven't had any issues.
Super stoked I got it running and it sounds healthy so far! Yep, New England to be exact. Unfortunately my days of not having to worry about rust issues will be coming to an end...
@@sleeper_motorsport it's awesome, man. what an accomplishment. also, no kidding! i'm in new england as well, been here for just over a year now. wait i've seen snow in some of your vids, but no salt where you are now?
They do salt the roads here, but just not that often. It does snow but it’s so sunny here that it melts within a day or so generally. So just not much salt or moisture. Most cars here dont have rust issues unless that came from another part of the country.
Hey, i bought the 03 wrx you sold to adrian, i would love to get in to contact and talk a little about the car. Adrian doesn't have the answers to some of the questions i have. Thanks

Man, im looking forward to the end result. Love the detail u put into these vids. Awesome.
Thanks for the support! Much appreciated!
A little glitter is OK second and third oil changes will clear up massively
Okay awesome! That seems to be the consensus with all the info I've come across as well. Thanks for confirmation.
my 13 sti also has that tick tick tick driver side. always figured it was noisy injectors...but 0 issues for me. stoked on the build!

My ej207 has the same noise. It’s very noisy just gotta get used to it at some point.
Yeah, the ejs tend to have noisy valve trains. It had just been awhile since I heard one running up close like that.
What happened to the gold intake manifold?
The more I looked at it on the shelf the more I wanted it to look OEM. So I stripped it and re-powder coated it.

Couldn't watch this... The sh*tty music on the background ruined it!
Cool, thanks for letting me know
