    i was doing the timing belt on my ej25, all the hashes/marks line up but when i do 2 revolutions by hand the timing is a little bit off. i’ve heard that this is fine for this engine but i just want to hear other’s people thoughts.

    Hey my n-word I know I'm a little late but then you put the engine together I didn't notice if you put the timing belt guide that goes on the manual cars. It goes above the crank sprocket. If I'm wrong cool, if you need any bugeye parts I'm parting out mine. Has some goodies, have an nrg harness bar in blue and an invidia up pipe. Whatever jawn you need glad to see the progress. I'm going through the same thing with my 07 wagon, I put a sedan front end on and didn't even think about the inner fenders being wider lol. I bought sedan fender liners from rock auto, one was $11 the other was $14. I can live with that price, and even being a cheaper quality like you said, it'll do what a fender liner is supposed to do and not have that gap that the wagon liners had hanging down. Plus my wagon liners were broken up at the front and held in with zip ties so kind've an upgrade for me as well hahaha

      I actually use them every day but that's because my "garage" is an old, wooden, farming shed (I live in the Japanese countryside) and the only way I can get the car in is by reversing it diagonally with the mirrors folded in!! Apart from that, I tend to use them in crowded car parks, just to reduce the risk of someone else hitting them.👍

    Question, why not put your oil temp sensor in the sump? I see you have the IAG pan and it has built in provisions for a temp sensor, and from what I've always seen the sump is the best place to monitor oil temp.

    • @sleeper_motorsport
      @sleeper_motorsport หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ah, yeah I definitely could have and may still move it to that location. The reason I didn’t initially is that the spot for it is on the opposite side of the pan from the side I routed my wiring into the engine bay through the firewall. Unfortunately the length of the oil temp wire was a bit short. I will need to route it through the drivers side firewall to have the right length which I probably will do now that I know it’s the best place to monitor oil temp. Thanks for the advice though! It’s always much appreciated.

    I did not see you use a scan tool to turn the light off or check the air bag module for the direct fault stored in the air bag module. Try that first . This is the 21st century taping or removing the bulb is just sketchy..... 😮

    • @jukeboxzero1
      @jukeboxzero1 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good advice for someone with an STI or driveline swap. I replaced the ugly green cluster in my Bugeye with a cluster from a 2005 STI. Scan tool was not an option so i covered the "DCCD" and "ABS" lights with electrical tape (was installing a new lens anyway). Tape has held up for years and i doubt anyone will ever notice it. No safety inspections where i live so that wasn't a consideration.

    • @sleeper_motorsport

      No the driver fender was blue. It was bent and didn't have the JDM side marker so I mixed and matched with the JDM fender I had on my older WRX. Lobstah rolls are way to good!

    bumped the playback speed to x1.5 and it gave the music a much cooler, peppier vibe. add more caster and make the rear a lower ride height than the front; along w/reducing rear toe.

    Big looking garage! Lots of space to work and that lift is going to make everything SO MUCH easier. Happy for you relocating here. Can't wait to see the WRX running. Yeah man, even with new gaskets, I always apply a bit of Honda bond in certain places of the Subie valve covers, my engines have NEVER leaked there afterwards. It would be great if TH-cam would allow posting pics in the comment section.

      Thats exactly what I ended up doing. Pulled both valve covers and put a bead of fuji bond around the entire perimeter instead of just the spots shown in the FSM. Hopefully that takes care of it as I hate oil leaks.

    Good video. I’m at a loss with my STi. It’s pulled timing and won’t go into boost. No leaks. No CEL. Tuner thought it was bad gas but it’s been multiple tanks of gas now and no change. Idles fine and drives fine just very slow. So confused.

      Sounds like you should consider a different tuner. Pretty lazy to keep blaming bad tanks of gas…

    From where did you source a brand new OEM engine harness for an EJ207?

      Its an OEM harness for an EJ205. I added on what was missing with the iwire dccd and avcs wiring. Found it from a random Subaru dealer in Connecticut.

    So what’s the situation with the shop? Will you be going to your own garage at your new house in future?

      Definitely will be moving to my own shop in the future.

    Hey for the fuel lines coming out of the fire wall I used a 5/16 AN compression fitting. Just cut the barb out with a mini tube cutter. I have not had any issues at all with it. No leaks at all and I used the evil energy brand from Amazon. It looks 100% more cleaner than using clamps and regular rubber hose.

      I have seen people use those compression fittings. I'm just not ready to cut my oem hard lines yet.

      @@sleeper_motorsport ahh I see. That’s understandable tho. What ended up happening to the bomba throttle body?
