Two things: 1.Max speed in Super turning your aura blue is so cool! 2. Putting the Eggman scene in the middle of the fight, then using that to introduce the new energy mechanics is also a really cool idea.
Total respect for keeping Open Your Heart blaring the entire battle instead of just for the first phase since it makes it even more climatic plus having Eggman fly in halfway is more serious since in the original game it happens before Sonic goes super actually which makes it goofy.
I really like the touch of Sonic ultimately defeating chaos with kindness and connection rather than one last shot to the head, as it aligns more with Tikal's lines in the final cutscene. Always thought it was weird that in the original Sonic basically beat chaos into submission lmao
Well, it's mainly because of the era, as it was the first real attempt for Sonic in 3D and they couldn't afford the extra detail; but what I think happened is that Sonic made Chaos lose the form with power (enriched by the heart hehe) and then landed him safely for Tikal to finally fully appease him.
You'd be surprised how often this happens with Sonic. I think it's his fight with Knuckles as Enerjak that Sonic refuses some requests to kill him, and then basically tells Knuckles, "I'm gonna save you, by kicking your ass!" But I agree, this was a much stronger ending.
I know a few have said this, but both the Egg Carrier scene happening halfway through the fight, and Sonic saving him through kindness like Tikal says, were both amazing touches- truer to the spirirt of the story than even the original. Well done, once again man!
this is absolutely fucking incredible, sonic adventure 1 was a defining game for me as a kid when it came out, seeing it done justice like this is honestly tearjerking, the community surrounding ol' sonic is such a great one filled with so many talented creators.

I love the graphic improvements on the environment, and the particle effects from the laser beam and water tornados to make them stand out nicely. The egg carrier was a cool addition too, though I thought the camera shot of eggman blasting off and the explosion particle effects was a little awkward. Not that you could probably do anything about this due to limited graphical and audio resources, but it would be nice to see Sonic with more expressions and voice lines. Besides that, I think this is a wonderful recreation of an amazing boss fight, and I look forward to more of your work in the future! :)
I really hope they have a remake in the making. Hopefully they make the fight harder too, with water coming out of the buildings and from the surface. For a pissed off Chaos, I always thought he was too passive in this fight.
this is sick! I kept thinking something was off and now I know. Its the lighting being to warm. Chaos in the game was all over cast, grey, shadowy. Only when he was neutralized did the sun rays peak through.
Oddly enough I ran into the opposite viewpoint during development. Early on I had the skies grey from the start as my most recent memory of the fight was the version in Generations. But once I reviewed actual dreamcast footage of the fight the skybox texture and lighting was to my surprise much brighter in the first phase of the fight. I took it to symbolise Chaos' mind slipping into fear and hatred as the cloud cover grew throughout the 2nd phase of the fight. So I used that in this fight, while also having Eggman fire the first shot towards him giving Chaos a reason to feel betrayed and retaliate. After that cutscene the cloud cover is at its peak here :)
@@JeliLiam oh i see. yeah i like how it changed the cloud cover. As for that last part, feeling betrayed. Perfect Chaos in Sonic Generations is actually the remake version? Can't wait to see what they've in store for Biolizard this year with Shadow's story in Sonic Generations REMASTERED too!
The design in Generations was what they originally wanted it to look like, but due to technical limitations the Dreamcast couldn't handle it, so they had to tone it down.
The only gripes I have about this is Perfect Chaos didn’t splatter when damaged, and no visible ring collection (also applies to FinalHazard video)… The video gameplay would to last 50 seconds or less with no rings, not taking counter resets into account… Other than that, EXCELLENT work…
Wow first I gotta say this is amazing good job! Second maybe try to make next the Metal Overload final boss fight from Sonic Heroes that would be sick! If you don't that's fine this is still amazing.
Very good work! My one critique is you could have embellished Chaos' retreat animations to be more than just sinking into the water (bursting like a balloon or diving into the water head-first).
What a coincidence. I'm just making updated badnik models. It doesn’t look bad, but the color scheme needs to be made more “canonical”. And reduce the contrast of the shadows.
This is pretty good. The graphics are well made, and it looks like the Sonic Adventure game was remade. My only complaints are Chaos is missing his tentacles and you didn’t use Chaos screaming in pain after Sonic hits him.
Holy shit haha this guy makes if not the best stage remakes on the market Everything I have seen over the decades were people just importing old stages into new engines, but keeping the meshes and textures literally the same, so nothing has been improved other than the same stage being in a new graphic engine. You are actually recreating everything from the ground up, using updated assets, using high rez 3d meshes for the background and even quite literally remaster elements from the older games You even go as far as remastering a lot of the scenes and even adding your own touch of what should have been included in the og scenes, but things that actually would make sense and would feel exactly right. Even in this one, I thought I was going to get disappointed seeing you use the og generations perfect chaos model, and you literally took the same model and you transformed him in a way that it now closely matches the perfect chaos we've always scene in the pre-rendered perfect chaos reveal we've had in the original game! Which what made the generations model so disappointing to me was the fact that they gave him green accents, glowy spikes and this disgusting looking leather like exoskeleton that he has surrounding his body. This is genuinely some real good work
The scenery looks incredible, the water is gorgeous and I love the egg carrier cutscene placed between phases. Some grips though. Perfect Chaos should be transparent, supersonic should have to build up speed to reach chaos while dodging attacks and if you lose too much speed you can’t reach him. The epic doom and gloom theme should still play but maybe first phase, then second phase is open your heart. I think there should be a longer pathway to get to chaos, it’s too easy.
Oh, I see Perfect Chaos Model was from Sonic Team, I assume Sonic Generations? Then your work was really focused in level building and integrating the whole playable scene in Unreal Engine? Good job either way. I do remember that Super Sonic was much faster (and hard to control...) in the original game, it was quite impressive... and also annoying that hitting the boss without reaching max speed level didn't give enough momentum to hit the head. In this version, the character looks slower but it also eventually looks easier to play! At first I thought this would be a purely cinematic video (but rendered in engine, i.e. cinematic design), but I see it's really remade from a gameplay perspective. What if you made the stage kinda like a boost esque thing where u have to get to chaos as fast as possible while he spawns water tentacles that abstract your path or attack u while u boost towards him in addition with his projectiles? Just a random thought cuz I noticed u nerfed the physics and I was thinking maybe a much bigger stage would allow for higher speeds provided the bigger stage wasn't just big for the sake of size and speed lol
